This is my third month on minastrin and the first month was a normal period for about 4 days, second month was brown discharge and blood for about 4 days and this month I have not had my period yet after the four inactive pills. Is there anything to be worried about, by not getting my period? ## No, some women stop having periods, while taking oral contraceptives and it is nothing to worry about, unless your doctor sees reason to be concerned. Other side effects, as listed by the FDA, may possibly include nausea, dizziness, headache and irritability. Is there anything else I can help with? ## If I do not get my period in the next month, should I contact my doctor? ## My doctor gave me a sample pack of Minastrin 24 fe and was supposed to call in the regular prescription to my pharmacy. U...

I was supposed to start my new pack on Sunday around 8:30 pm. I forgot and took that pill around 7am on Monday. Then took Monday, Tuesday's, and Wednesday's all around 8:30 pm (each night not all at the same time). We had unprotected sex on Wednesday night around 11 pm. I have been on sprintec for about a year. I also took a plan b on Saturday morning. My youngest child is a year old and I don't think we could handle another. Is there anyway I could be pregnant?

my wife has pimples on the face and they increase towards her menstrual period. how can this be sorted ## Hello, Joe! How are you and your wife? That is normal and is usually caused by the hormone fluctuations that occur towards the time of menses. However, if they are very bad, she could consult a doctor, they can sometimes prescribe an oral contraceptive that can help balance her hormones and prevent them from occurring. The U.S. FDA lists the typical side effects as possibly including nausea, dizziness, headache, spotting and PMS-like symptoms. Is there anything else I can help with?

I am currently on Lo Loestrin Fe and I want to delay my period (in anticipation of going on a religious pilgrimage). My doctor started me on the pills 2 months early so that my body can adjust to them and I experienced spotting during the 2nd week of my first pack for 8 days and then everything seemed normal. However, when it came to the end of the pack, my doctor instructed my to take the white pills and skip only the brown pills and on the second day of the white pill (before starting on a new pack), I had light bleeding. When I travel for the pilgrimage in a month, I want to make sure NO bleeding happens whatsoever - does this mean that for the next pack, I should skip all the 4 white AND brown pills and start a new pack? ## Yes, you'd have to completely skip all the inactive tab...

Hello, I stopped taking my sprintec pregnancy pill on Sat. morning and start my sugar pill on Sunday, but i skipped it so I should still have my period, but I was intimate with my husband 11/10 and I haven't had my period yet. Do you think I can get pregnant? Please help because im suppose to start a new pack of sprintec on Sunday Nov. 15th, 2015 and if I am pregnant I dont want to hurt my baby :( ## Hello, Abby! How are you? No, the placebo pills have no bearing on the efficacy of oral contraceptives, they are only there to allow you to have a period and to keep women in the habit of taking their pills, so they don't forget. The FDA lists the typical side effects of oral contraceptives as possibly including nausea, dizziness, weight changes and breakthrough bleeding. Some women...

I just started sprintec this week, I had an IUD fall out in January and was put on quartette but bled everyday a good amount, needing several liners to several super tampons. So I called my OB because I couldn't take the daily bleeding after seven months. OB put me on Sprintec and I have completed one week of pills any advice on when I can expect the bleeding to stop???? ## Hello, Danni! How are you? Irregular bleeding can occur for the first 3 months, or so, while your body gets used to a new oral contraceptive, but if it goes beyond a couple months, you should inform your doctor as you may need to switch, again. Other side effects, as listed by the FDA, may possibly include nausea, dizziness, headache and PMS-like symptoms. When I was younger and taking them, I found that the blee...

I started my cycle when I only had 2 pills left.. I been on sprintec for a full year and this is the first time this has happened.. I just started my first white pill and I usually start my cycle on my 3rd white pill .. do I need to start a new pack? or just keep taking them ## You should just continue taking them as normal, unless your doctor has directed otherwise. Irregular bleeding can happen, occasionally, when taking oral contraceptives. Other side effects may possibly include nausea, dizziness, headache and irritability, as reported by the FDA. Is there anything else I can help with?

I am taking femiane from the first day of my period and it's now eight days now n it won't stop, is that normal? ## Hello, Shilo! How are you? Yes, irregular bleeding can occur for the first 3 months, while your body is getting used to this oral contraceptive. But if the bleeding gets really heavy and is continuos, it may not be the right one for you to take and you may need to try a different one. Is there anything else I can help with? ## I have being taking femiane birth control to regular my period how long after I come off the pill do I get my period?? If I skip my white pills and continue taking the yellow ones will I skip my period and still be protected from pregnancy?? ## Yes and unless your doctor has instructed you otherwise, it is perfectly safe to do this, once in awhile. Many women do it to control when they have their menstrual cycle, so it doesn't occur when it's inconvenient, such as when they are getting married, or going on vacation. Is there anything else I can help with? ## Nope thank you :) ## I am getting married next weekend, next week is when I'm suppose to start my white pills by reading the reviews it looks like my period would start and would roll over to the weekend ( not good). My question is if I skip the last week (white pills ) and start my new pack would that skip or delay my period?? Please hel...

Started my period on 11/2 and took the pill 11/3. Took it for a few days and then forgot for three days. Took 1 pill (all I had left) and then didn't take it for one day, now have my new prescription. Do I have to wait until I start my period again next month or can I begin a new pack today and just miss my period next month? ## The tablets you take the week of your period have no active ingredients, so missing them doesn't matter. As to the new pack, since you did miss at least one day of active tablets, you can start it at any time, unless your doctor instructs you not to, but you'll need to make sure to use back up protection against pregnancy for the first 7 days. Are there any other questions or concerns? ## Hi i forgot to take daphne pills last june 16 then we had a co...

if my first mentrual period falls on wed. do i take the pill also starts on wed.? ang also for the next stab of new pills after 7 days free pills.? ## Yes, you should start it on the first day of your period, regardless of what day of the week that is and regardless of any days that may be printed on the packaging. And yes again, you should then continue taking a tablet each day and make sure not to miss any. This may cause side effects, such as nausea, dizziness, headache and mood swings. Are there any other questions or concerns? ## Im taking althea for almost 3 years, im on the 7 days free pill but i delayed taking the next pack instead i intake pills on the 9th day, i had intercourse on the 8th day .will i be pregnant? i am a PCOS/PCOD patient, I had suffered a misscarriage in the 2nd month of my pregnancy and went for d&c After that a month later the doctor suggested DRONIS 30 tablet as Pcod treatment, once in a day for 21 days from the 5th day of the menses. I took the medicine Dronis 30 and on the first day i got headache and dizziness. I ignored it and then on the next day i took another tablet. On the second day i felt uneasy, light headedness and dizziness. Also felt a bit uncomfortable as far as my health is concerned. On taking the second tablet i couldn't sleep properly that night due to uneasy feeling, on the 3rd day to take the tablet i decided to stop taking the tablet completely. I am worried that stopping the medicine course midway would have any health effects? How will that aff...

The Primolut N might stop the bleeding, but the only way to know is to take it and see if it works for you. How long has your doctor told you take it?

Hello, I've been taking the ortho pill for a good 6 months and I've recently been switched to the sprintec pill. I had my period on the 8th of June. It is now the 23rd. I started taking sprintec last sunday. It was fine the first week of the white pills but I missed two yesterday and the day before because of work... and today I was intimate with my boyfriend but he didn't climax inside of me... We took an hour nap and when I woke up I was bleeding. Is this a period, my body adjusting, or do u think something was hit wrong? I have no symptoms of sickness whatsoever and nothing hurts. Please help!? ## When you experience a period, while taking oral contraceptives, it is actually called a withdrawal bleed, it is due to not taking in any hormones that week, those pills for your...

I need to take Loestrin to stop having my period due to low iron issues. My period just ended. Can I start taking the pill now? I was told by my doctor to take the pill continuously to stop my period. Not using it as birth control. ## You can start it at any time, unless your doctor has said otherwise, but you should be aware that it will take 7 days to reach its full level of efficacy in your body to prevent pregnancy, so if you are engaging in intercourse, you will need a backup method of protection for the first week of taking it. The U.S. FDA warns that you may still experience some spotting and breakthrough bleeding for the first 3 months, while your body gets used to this medication. You may also experience nausea, headache and irritability. Is there anything else I can help with?...

I'm having the same issue! Have you had any preg symptoms? Or... Very curious to find out if this is just a side effect of the implant wearing off. I started my period on May 9th and had Nexplanon implanted on May 11th. I was intimate with my partner on May 30th, but the condom broke. Should I take the plan b or am I protected? ## Generally, unless your doctor says otherwise, you only require backup concentration for the first 7 days of using a new hormonal contraceptive. However, if you are concerned, there is no harm in having yourself check for pregnancy, to be sure. The FDA lists the typical side effects as possibly including nausea, dizziness, headache, mood swings, irritably, PMS-like symptoms and breakthrough bleeding. Is there anything else I can help with?
