Hi, i am 26 years old. i don't know remember when was the last time i had normal(regular periods). I can skip like 3-5 months without getting my period sometimes. I'm now using oralcon pills, what happens is that i always get my period way before i finish first 21 pills. This is confusing there is just nothing normal about my menstrual cycle. Please help. ## That can be a normal side effect of this medication, there is never any guarantee that it will help normalize your periods, according to NIH reports. You may also experience nausea, dizziness, headache, and mood swings. Have you consulted your medical provider? You may need to try a different hormonal contraceptive. ## I only talked to nurses who also seem confused, I will need to consult a Doctor.. Any suggestion on which t...

I've had my jadelle in for 11 months and no period, all of a sudden I have a 3 day period is that possible ## Me too! I've had mine for 13 months with ZERO sign of a period and all of a sudden I'm on! Really worried it could be something to do with pregnancy but I can't find any info on this situation... Although my GP did say that if you get a period on Jadelle when you wouldn't normally and you have been intimately active with a new partner, you should get an STI check as it can be a symptom for a number of things. Best of luck hun I hope everything is okay for both of us! Any more info would be hugely appreciated! ## That can be a normal occurrence with hormonal contraceptives, such as this. As listed by the FDA, you may also experience nausea, dizziness, headache...

do i need to use another contraceptive like condom for the first week of changing my pills to trust pills ## You mean changing from a different brand of pills to the Trust pills? No, if you're already taking one, then you can just make a smooth transition and start taking the Trust pills in place of your old ones and you will still remain protected against pregnancy. It's only if you switch from a different form, such as if you were getting the shots and switched to the pills, then you may need to use backup method of contraception for awhile, or if you are new to taking them. You should double check this information with your doctor to be certain, but this is normally how its down. ## nagtke po q ng lady pils dnatnan n po aq nung nsa#23 ininum q pu ung nti2rang 5 hbng my period...

I have been taking lo loestrin fe for 3 months. It is my last week of pills and I was intimate with my partner twice this week without using protection. I take the pills every day however I have not been taking them at the same time for the past two weeks. Some days I would take them in the morning, some days at dinner time, etc. Usually I take them in the morning. Is there a chance I could be pregnant? Is it really necessary to take them at the exact same time? Please help! ## Hello, Nicole! How are you? When taking oral contraceptives, as explained by the NIH, you have about 12 hours, before it's considered a late pill and 24 hours, before it's considered a missed pill. Thus, if you full missed any, then yes, there is a chance you could be pregnant. However, if you took them a...

I have been taking Sprintec for my first month. I am writing this because I am concerned about taking it 100% correctly. I have tried to take my Sprintec within 5 minutes of my designated time (5:55 P.M.) every day. However, I have heard stories from my friends who have their period cycled messed up even when taking it 3 minutes late, and another friend told me the window time is generally 15 minutes. For Sprintec, what is my window time for taking the pills? 15 minutes, 1 hour, 3, (or 12 hours according to some). ## Hello, Kelly! How are you? It can really vary from person to person, so there is no definitive answer I can give you, that's also why you've gotten so many different responses from your friends, we are all genetically, and biologically different. Thus, it is really ...

I just started taking Lo Loestrin Fe (still in the first week of my first pack). I took the first pill when I started spotting about a week before I expected my period. I wasn't too surprised by this due to my heavy and irregular periods, which are half the reason I'm taking this birth control. However, the spotting lasted less than a day. I've continued taking the pills since then and have been experiencing side effects such as nausea, tender breasts, moodiness, and fatigue. Since I just started, I'm wondering if it's too early for the pill to be affecting me like this already and if these are from PMS, or possibly signs of pregnancy since they all have similar symptoms. I had unprotected intercourse roughly a week to a week and a half before the spotting occurred, ...

From 2008-2016 I was on ortho-tricyclen. I stopped taking my birth control September of 2016 because I was no longer sexually active and I wouldn't be for quite some time. I began taking mono linyah june of 2017. I'm still within the 3 month period of my body getting used to the pill, but if I forget to eat with it I wake up as I am extremely nauseous. Most times I end up vomiting 3-4 times within the morning to early afternoon. I also experience brown discharge frequently. Is this normal? Should I be concerned? ## The brown discharge is normal, that's usually just old blood that wasn't released during your last period. The nausea can also be a typical side effect, according to FDA reports, you may also experience dizziness, headache, and irritability. How are you doing,...

The pill package looks the same, the active ingredients and dosage is the same, but as some of us might have been so unlucky to experience, generics don't always do nice things when they're birth control. I believe the company that makes Minastrin is/was acquired by Allergan -- I just want to make sure this is the same medication and perhaps just a packaging change due to a patent expiring? Remember when they changed from Loestrin (swallow pill) to Menastrin (chew)? Same exact manufacturer and company and active ingredients, just a different consumption format to extend their patent and prevent other companies from making generics. I just want to know if this new Allergan package I got is the same company as Minastrin - my body doesn't react well to switches in formulas. ( I...

I AM BLEEDING SEVERELY AND DOCTOR TOLD IT IS DUE TO MENOPAUSE. THEY HAVE PRESCRIBED OVRAL G , DOES THIS MEDICINE STOP PERIODS ? ## Hello, Agi! How are you? This is actually an oral contraceptive, which can help to restore a hormonal balance and may alleviate such bleeding. The U.S. FDA lists the typical side effects for such medications as possibly including nausea, dizziness, headache, irritability, spotting and anxiety. How old are you? ## What will happen if taken overal G after menopause? Will withdrawal occur after stopping the medicine?

I took the first white pill of LoLo Estrin yesterday and woke up to a period today (supposed to take second white pill today) ... Can I skip the second white pill and the two brown pills to avoid my period from continuing or is it too late? ## No, skipping them won't change anything. You should finish them, as you are supposed to and then start the next pack, when you normally should. The FDA lists the typical side effects of oral contraceptives as possibly including nausea, dizziness, headache, irritability, weight gain, breakthrough bleeding and PMS-like symptoms. Is there anything else I can help with? ## This is my first month taking Lo loestrin. I took my 2nd white pill last night and today around noon I got my period. I am 54 and my doctor prescribed Angeliq for atrophic vaginitus. Other non-systemic topical treatments were ineffective. I have been on it for 6 days and my main side effects are interrupted sleep and a mild headache. How long does it usually take for side effects to subside if they do subside at all? ## Generally, about 4 weeks or so, they should improve and subside, once your body gets used to the medication. The NIH lists other side effects as possibly including nausea, dizziness, and mood changes. How are you doing, now? Has there been any change? ## Hi there, thank you for the response. It's day 10 and it's becoming apparent that the side effects are constantly changing. The dull headache just vanished and my usual almost daily headaches (bane of my life) have not put in an...

Last time i got my period was in august and previous to that was 2 years ago. it is now october and no period since. My doctor prescribed me sprintec and told me to take them on sunday after my period. But when should i start taking them if i see no period? Should i wait til God knows when to take them or should i just start right away? Btw ive always had irregular periods. ## Hello, Brenda! How are you? According to FDA directions, you can start them at any time, but if it is not on the first or second day of your period, you cannot rely on them to prevent pregnancy, until you have taken them for a full 7 days, so for that first week, you'll need to use a backup form of protection. The typical side effects may possibly include nausea, dizziness, headache, irritability, and spotting...

I just started birth control (loloestrin fe)for the first time and I after the first week of taking it I got some spotting but last Friday (today is Monday) It turned Into much heavier bleeding, worse than my regular period ever was. I want to know when this will stop as I have a long vacation coming up June 7th. Did anyone else encounter this? If so, when did It stop for you? Can I do anything to stop this? ## That type of side effect can occur for the first three months, when you start taking these hormonal contraceptives. It's due to the way they affect your body's natural hormones. Generally, spotting and heavier bleeding is due to elevated estrogen levels and that is highly likely, since these do contain a form of it. And I'm sorry, but there's really no way to make...
