Pill, Period, Or Pregnant?

I just started taking Lo Loestrin Fe (still in the first week of my first pack). I took the first pill when I started spotting about a week before I expected my period. I wasn't too surprised by this due to my heavy and irregular periods, which are half the reason I'm taking this birth control. However, the spotting lasted less than a day. I've continued taking the pills since then and have been experiencing side effects such as nausea, tender breasts, moodiness, and fatigue. Since I just started, I'm wondering if it's too early for the pill to be affecting me like this already and if these are from PMS, or possibly signs of pregnancy since they all have similar symptoms. I had unprotected intercourse roughly a week to a week and a half before the spotting occurred, and while I'm almost entirely sure he didn't come inside me I'm still concerned. Though my period tracking app says I'm not due to start for another few days, it isn't completely perfect with keeping up with my irregular cycles and the unusual spotting is what started my worries.

It is really hard to say, it is a hormonal contraceptive, so it can cause side effects early on, according to FDA reports. You may also experience nausea, dizziness, and headache.

But, it never hurts to have yourself checked for pregnancy, just to be sure.
