Big Pharma's Lockdown On Legitimate Chronic Pain Patients (Page 60)

Updated

Is narcotic pain medicine becoming a thing of the past?

Why are doctors across America phasing out the practice of prescribing effective pain medication?

Will big pharmaceutical companies ever truly understand what it's like to face the other side of the coin?

Lately there's been a musty scent in the air surrounding the use of prescribed narcotic pain medication. Many doctors appear to be running scared as the DEA scours through fields of medical records, inspecting prescribing pads like a mouse scavenges for food in a dimly lit cellar.

Should the day come when doctors recommend Ibuprofen to a feeble man who's been involved in a terrible car accident (breaking several bones / requiring extensive surgery), is this doctor at risk of malpractice when there are more effective options available that they choose not to pick, out of fear? Fear of what? Doing the right thing? No, I don't think this is the reason... Somewhere along the line, in the not too distant past, doctors were loosely prescribing narcotic pain medication as if it would never go out of style. Nowadays, the harsh penalty of potentially losing their license for writing any unknown number of opiate prescriptions over so many calendar days or some other form of strict criteria, has been enough to prevent many physicians from taking even subtle "risks" with patients who are expressing obvious signs of pain and discomfort.

The unfortunately unique problem with pain is that it's not a physical object and in order for others to detect it, they'd have to rely solely on the backbone of our body language using their intuition - something that's gone missing in western practice. If more doctors took the time and really got to know their patients front to back, then they will be their own best judge of deciding what the right thing to do is, regardless of what the DEA thinks about their decision or what their drug representative wants out of the deal. Sadly, until patients are put before profits, the foundation of America's healthcare system remains in jeopardy like an iceberg affected by global warming.

While I believe that the vast majority of human beings in their right mind would choose to do the right thing, we must all work together to become the change we wish to see within every aspect of our lives; and knowing that by doing so, it will shine light on those crossing our path that need it most.

In the meantime, some patients may have to find another way to manage their pain without putting their life or health at risk. Others are turning to natural alternatives such as kratom, cannabis, turmeric and/or implementing various lifestyle changes into their daily regime... But the key is to never give up hope.

What will you do?

Warm regards to all who face life's challenges head on.

I am currently on 15mg morphine every 12 hrs. Do I have to be off this before Kratom will be effective? Would the powder blend well in a smoothie?

I think most of us have been looking for other ways to control our pain for years. If you have some options that have helped you, please share. That is if your a chronic pain patient.

Hii.. We all make mistakes.. just glad to hear you didn't give in to the temptation of those pill mills and oxycontin. Hopefully our doctors will take control back, and not just get lazy. They get their money whether or not they prescribe patients their pain medication or just refer to pain management. All is well... God Bless us, everyone...

Not true! I was with my doctor for over 10 years. He acted like he really cared about his patients. My husband had a massive heart attack and died twice. I had been up with him for 3 days. And we carry our meds in a pill box that holds one day supply of our meds. His is dark blue and mine is purple. I accidentally took his medication instead of mine and it showed up in my U/A. So without any notice or anything i was kicked out of my doctor office. He would not even let me explain what happened. I called the dea and my state representative and the pharmaceutical representatives. They told me i was a victim of the new laws and there was nothing i could do. My doctor cares more about the money instead of his patients. Now i am in pain 24 hours a day. My only choices are either to use street drugs or alcohol or just give up and die.

Re: Charlene (# 1155) Expand Referenced Message

I have a feeling this is the real reason the CDC/government has their nose in people's pain, it's because they can't stand it that some people sell them for money and they're not getting a cut of it. Most legit pain patients would never sell their meds as that is a huge no-no and a major crime. I do know however that in today's economy it happens, some have to do it to survive, to eat, but what does the government know about that or care that people are hungry? I read a lot of people mentioning kratom for pain and withdraws well, just watch the government will ban it because big pharma will start suffering losses because people won't need their dang medicine anymore!! Doctors know when people are in pain and when they're not because there are such things as MRI's and Cat scans so they can see what is causing your pain. It should be against the law to let someone suffer in pain when there is relief available but they're not going to give it to you because they're afraid of the government/DEA shutting them down! What a farking mess they've caused! Still trying to make people believe we are in an opiate epidemic when we're NOT, it's been over for a while now. We are in a heroin and fentanyl epidemic, fake fentanyl from China that is. I read that the CDC is in deep trouble for lying and everything else. They are including deaths from alcohol mixed with benzos, etc...crap like that with the total number of deaths from opiate ODs!! SO WRONG! Trust me, we are no longer in an opiate epidemic what we are in is an epidemic of older people suffering in terrible pain because they can't get relief from their doctors because they're scared of the DEA! Also, of course there are people of all ages who have serious pain issues from accidents or from diseases. This is 2018 and no one should have to suffer!! There are people suffering terribly in pain and are even too scared to tell their doctor in fear they'll be treated like an addict! I hate what all this has caused. They've shut down all the pill mills in FL.. doctors everywhere are too scared to RX so do tell me, CDC, how is it we are still in an opiate epidemic when NO ONE is being prescribed any opiates? Doctors just need to do what they've always done to help their patients and ignore the g.d. CDC and their scare tactics, they cannot tell doctors what to do, they are only recommending. They need to just leave doctors alone with their lies. People are dying from heroin overdoses and not all heroin users started on pain pills. Leave the doctors alone, CDC, stop spewing your lies!

I can tell you from experience at first you will feel nothing from kratom until you at least lower your dosage, but you can still use kratom in-between your medication and just keep using it the more you want. Eventually you will notice you're not taking as much of your medicine and wind up liking the kratom more because of all the benefits it has to offer. I have seen addicts use kratom to detox and it didn't take long at all. So does kratom work? Absolutely. Some people give up quickly on kratom because of the medicine they are on and say they got nothing from it; well they won't get anything because they continued to take pain pills.

Re: Claude (# 1167) Expand Referenced Message

I usually buy 500 grams or even a kilo because when you're just starting out you may need to take it more often than a normal user. And you will find out u may need to take a dose every hour until you find out most of the pain meds are out of your system and then when you notice that kratom is giving you more benefits than your medicine you can start to lower your dosage of kratom. Most people starting out to either detox have to sometimes take it every half hour or so. I hope this helps. If you have anymore questions I'd love to help you. And as you use the kratom everyone has to find what's called your sweet spot.

Re: Claude (# 1167) Expand Referenced Message

Hi. I don't know where you bought your kratom capsules to compare prices. But my vendor has 500grams for $59.99, or a kilo for $99.99. A green maeng da or a green jongkong.. are one of the best sellers. However I do know of another site and they sell a kilo for $50 bucks. I have never bought from him yet only because I just found out about him. Again another reputable vendor. I only know of this because many people/friends have told me I should be ordering from him and at the moment I have a boat load of kratom now. So from now on you should only buy powder form kratom. It's very, very pricey whenever you buy the capsules pre made. One thought is who knows if a vendor will add filler inside and your not getting pure kratom in the capsule. I do this with all my herbs, I buy powder form as much as I can. The only one I cant buy is my magnesium malate. Again another great supplement that provides great pain relief, energy, mood lift. A lot of people do not know they don't have enough magnesium nowadays. Our vegetables, fruits ect.. don't provide us with enough magnesium. Back in the day our earth soils provided us with it. All the sprays and chemicals have ruined that for us..also I take turmeric and probiotics. All this with kratom use has turned my health life into something I never thought possible. My new regimen has me feeling way, way better than any pain pills I have ever taken.

Re: Claude (# 1167) Expand Referenced Message

Are you sure you only bought 50 grams (100 capsules).. because I find that odd, because how can 50 grams possibly fit into 100 capsules? Unless they have filler in them and definitely you do not want any filler in your kratom. Maybe you meant to say 500 grams. But still even at 500 grams you should get more than 100 capsules..let me know..I will guide you better because I did the trial and error at first too. And next time buy powder form and make them with size 00 capsules sold on Amazon or try edible discs and put powder kratom into them swallowing. It sure beats taking mega doses of capsules. Or go to utube and watch edible discs how to make and take..also watch utube videos on toss n wash, it's the best way if u can handle it because kratom tastes bad like dirt and grass together, everyone will agree on this. But its actually the best way to use kratom. Don't go into kratom blind, u will only give up or waste money on trials and error.

Re: Barbara (# 1077) Expand Referenced Message

Oh yes Barbara I can see you have done your homework. That's the first thing someone should do while using kratom.. it's also a trial and error finding your sweet spot with use. The greens are great because it's in between the red and white plus great pain relief..if your still on pain pills it will not work well but using it in between your dose eventually you will find out you're not needing your pain meds at much... Once the kratom can do its job great benefits will follow..but like you said everyone is different and maybe for really bad pain you need the medication but I have seen this plant kratom work wonders. Good luck.

As I was trying to get to sleep last night, was thinking about this issue. All these people who had been frequenting the now outlawed pill mills, are still getting their recreational high on the Suboxone, Subutex, Methadone. They sell them and take them the same they did with the opiates. Yet, were any of us offered these products to help our doctor imposed cold turkey off these same drugs we have been taking legally for years? Hell, no... and I even asked and was told an emphatic NO! When I was taken off Soma for insomnia and muscle spasms, Belsomra had just come out. I asked if I could try it, "no, it's a narcotic". When my 85 yr old mother was taken off Soma, she was sent home with samples and then the next month, they started her on a monthly script for it. Every doctor I have talked to has a different way of interpreting the new laws. They are treating patients under the recommendation of their interpretation of these laws. So why can't we get the same help as the abusers who caused us to lose our legal prescription rights through their illegal use and sales?! It's just not right.

Re: Vintage Lady (# 1198) Expand Referenced Message

actually the cdc has made recomendations these are not actually new laws many drs just bend to these recomendations for their own reasons mainly imo to aviod bringing unwanted attention to themselves ..... do a search for cdc opiod dosing and read the cdc article ... it says recomended ... but many are taking it as law
