Best Generic Adderall Brands (Page 12)

Is the round pink 30 mg Adderall generic name Sandoz/Eon with the markings of CDR 136 on one side more or less effective than the oval orange 30 mg Adderall generic name Barr/Teva with the markings of b974 on one side and 30 on the other side? What is the most effective/potent Adderall that is generic and 30 mg?

Re: ELLIE (# 512) Expand Referenced Message

Thank you for the link to this information. I'm going back to my doctor to request the brand name Adderall IR since this latest prescription was filled with the Mallinckbrodt generic which makes the Teva generic seem like a dream in comparison. I'll take Teva any day over Mallinckbrodt. Its so ineffective that its scary.

Re: Davey (# 514) Expand Referenced Message

I don't think I could have said it any better! I live In MA and In August when I found out corpharma discontinued their IR tablets I was devastated. I have been on this medication my whole life and for the last 5 years solid this has been my go to brand. However I have a feeling they will reintroduce it again soon. My brother works at a local pharmacy and he says this happens often. If people would just stop complaining about things they didn't like and stuck with the things they did like we wouldn't be seeing this problem. If you don't like it go to a different store get a different brand don't rag on other brands because there are people out there that rely on their medication to get through the day.

Generic Sandoz has lactose monohydrate in it and makes my stomach hurt badly. So I do not recommend Sandoz. I can hardly believe there is no longer a decent maker of a brand name Adderall IR. That is ridiculous. What are ADHD patients supposed to do? I don't want to be on Adderall XR.

Re: ELLIE (# 509) Expand Referenced Message

Hi. Just picked up my new Adderall Brand 30 mg from my Doc today. Decided to stick with the Brand.

I had a 10 day Holiday -and that 1st dose today put me in the best mood it was awesome. In addition, caught up on some work that had been slacking.

We all know that Teva/Barr make both the generic and brand. We all know both formulas have been jacked around by Big Pharma but there really is no comparison to the generic and brand. The brand is far superior in its binders and fillers and is not speedy like the generic. It works.

Unfortunately, my insurance does not cover it all but the $100 bucks I have been spending each month on the co-pay -hurts a tad but is well worth my health.

It's not overly strong but gives no headaches or other side effects except the normal appetite suppression and slight dry mouth.

I've tried them all and will be sticking to this and stop playing the monthly July hoop...

To clarify, I am not a Dr nor actively marketing Teva Brand. It works for me but the cost may be prohibitive and that's a shame as we are running out of options!

Good luck!

Re: Kirk (# 7) Expand Referenced Message

I know it's been awhile but something you said caught my eye about Adderall not having L-amphetamine because it does. The 2 amphetamines (aspartate monohydrate and suleate) both metabolize into 12.5% Levoamp and 12.5% detroamp...which added together, that's 25% Levoamp and 75% dextro.

This might not even be relevant anymore or easily accessible info but I probably didn't go to bed soon enough after I took my Ambien, so I think I liked doing the math and feeling all smart. lol night

Re: ELLIE (# 507) Expand Referenced Message

Thanks. Ya I’ve been making a habit to call each pharmacy ahead of time to see what brand they carry. Just got a new script from my shrink yesterday. Walmart and CVS all typically carry the Barr/Teva while every single Rite Aide and most everywhere else is buying up this Aurobindo trash. Tell ya what, core pharma really shook up the industry by discontinuing. I’m starting to think there may be a conspiracy going on. Because of this whole opioid epidemic bs docs and the fda are petrified of all controlled medications at the moment. When it comes to stimulants, I’ve noticed that many docs have been gradually switching to the vigils or XR versions for less abuse potential. That being said, I find it odd that we lose two perennial powerhouse generic IR manufacturers of adderall (Core and Sandoz) within only a few months of each other. Leaving us with only trash Aurobindo or the hit and miss (depending on the person) Barr/Teva. Perhaps if enough people start having too many cough cough “adverse side effects,” to mixed amphetamine salts than they will have enough evidence to pull IR versions for good. Idk, just something I’ve been turning over in my mind a while. All I know is that what that the awful side effects I experienced with Aurobindo was not placebo affect. These generic manufacturers only have to demonstrate that their drug is within 25% bioequivalency of the brand name to be approved. To make matters worse, all these bioequivalency evaluations are carried about by the pharmaceutical companies themselves....talk about conflict of interest? Even on top of that, companies like Aurobindo manufacturer many of their medications over seas in India. Lmao, how much oversight from the FDA do you think they realistically have all the way over there in third world India? Not only that, they have poor infrastructure which makes me question the competency of their factory workers and high corruption which makes me question whether they have shadily manufactured a dangerous product with cheap fillers to save a buck. Ya, that crap's not going in my body and I’d advise everyone, for the sake of your health and peace of mind, stay away from Aurobindo Adderall. Furthermore, file a complaint with your pharmacist and the FDA. Sooner or later something has to be done about this. I feel completely taken advantage of by this bs shady company from India. In fact, the FDA recently served them warning letters about the quality of several of their factories in India.

OMG there is hope you guys! I think for me at least, I am going to get back on SANDOZ or PRASCO (official manufacturer for SHIRE) XR, or MYADAYIS (notice: My Day is...? LMAO...who knows with all this crap! hahahaha)...and add an IR booster and just MAKE sure it's a decent manufacturer. That's all. PRASCO XR is the GENERIC and so is PRASCO so it should be around the same price.

They ARE discontinued according to ALL PHARMACIES I have been to --You are lucky to get left-over stash especially if it's from April-June 2017. That junk was THE BOMB! Lucky you! What retailer and what city are you in?? I am in Atlanta, GA.

Sandoz is still making XR just FYI you guys. Remember though if you decide to go on XR and you are RX'd 30 mg a day = only 15 mg releases in the am / 15 mg in the pm so be sure your DOC RX's properly! :)

Re: Davey (# 506) Expand Referenced Message

OMGosh Davey! NEVER EVER get MALIKRAPT! The RX companies are pawning this garbage off as 4-amphetamine salts and it is only 1--Dex. Someone PLEASE CORRECT me if I am wrong.

Stay AWAY from: TEVA/BARR (same manufacturer), Malinkrodt, Aurobindo (FAKES!). Your best bet is to QUICKLY find some SANDOZ (they have just discontinued IR but are still making XR), or an old stash of COREPHARMA--from like May 2017. GOOD luck with that.

I have been getting TEVA/BARR and they were fine until the inconsistencies of these NON-REGULATED mfg facilities in INDIA and overseas keep sloppin' up "mystery batches!" You never know what your gonna get! Last month, TEVA/BARR was awesome. This month = COMPLETE GARBAGE with all of the side effects, and none of the benefits!

I am thinking about going back to XR as the BEST OF THE WORST generic manufacturers (Prasco, and Sandoz) are making--ALWAYS always ALWAYS ask your pharmacist which GENERIC they are currently carrying. They will tell you over the phone. PUBLIX is great about it, KROGER too...CVS --iffy, depends on who answers the phone and WALGREENS is the same.

Try to always ask for the PHARMACIST AND INSIST ON HOLDING. ALSO, have a talk with your DOCTOR when you find a generic that works best for you and have him/her write the MANUFACTURERS NAME ON YOUR RX. The pharmacy by law has to order it if they are in their vendor list.

HOPE this helps!

Re: Hamster (# 501) Expand Referenced Message

My Costco carries Mallinckrodt generic. Not sure how it is but other people’s reviews aren’t good. They make my current bottle of dexedrine but it doesn’t feel very strong, lasts about 1.5 hrs tops when it’s suppose to last 4-6hrs. I saw on the fda orange book that Sun, Actavis, Nether, Alvogen Malta, Aurolife (Aurobindo?), Barr, and Epic, hold parents but idk how up to date that information is. Only brand I liked was CORE, it was smooth and would last for a solid 4-6 hrs every time. Aurobindo is absolute garbage. I will NEVER put that poison in my body again. High heart rate, blood pressure, bizarre nervous anxiety that made me feel psychotic and on top of it all, It didn’t do anything for ADD symptoms, it actually made them worse than baseline. Aurobindo pharma is a shady company over in India that’s been in hot water with the fda over quality concerns with their other medications before. I’m tired of us getting taken advantage of. Only way we can combat this crap is if we all complain to our pharmacy and refuse to purchase this Aurobindo garbage. They’ll make a change once they realize their bottom line is taking a hit...

You are probably getting left over stash. Corepharma and Sandoz discontinued. Read some of my other threads.

Re: Amp (# 498) Expand Referenced Message

If you are on IR, they will --they discontinued SANDOZ IR. I talked to the medical department at Sandoz in NJ. They are only making XR now. Corepharma was discontinued in June I believe or so of this year--maybe July--but it's no longer either unless you can get someone's old supply. That would be EPIC.

Re: Comments Submitted (# 502) Expand Referenced Message

I'm taking the Teva Brand. Not bad. Very slow come on and no anxiety like the Teva Generic.

As usual, worked well first few weeks and efficacy flamed out. It does has a sweet taste but nothing like genetic.

SO in nutshell, if it wasn't for the outrageous price I may order again with Doc next week but it certainly is NOT the original formula...but we're running out of options. Thanks for heads up on Mylan...I'll pass.

Good luck!

Re: AKat (# 496) Expand Referenced Message

Mylan is not very good. I was taking Core for nearly four years, when I was switched to Aurobindo. It's junk. So I went to Walmart who sells Mylan. It's as terrible as Aurobindo. Both cause major upset stomach and headache. It's like taking a pill to purposely make yourself sick. It doesn't help with concentration at all. It causes "spacing out", and major fatigue after two hours.
