If u r allergic to bactrim what can happen ## Hello, Christina! How are you? It depends on how severe the allergy is, a mild one may just result in some joint aches and hives, but a severe one could cause the person's throat to swell and impair their breathing. Has it been prescribed for you? Did you have a reaction to it? If so, what were your symptoms?

Hi. I was prescribed Bactrim DS 800/160 tablets 2x a day for 10days. I tested negative for mono, strep, and tonsillitis. I do have some boils/abscess and they also gave me ointment for the nose (mupirocin) and body wash (hibiclens). And also (prednisone) was prescribed for my glands swollen. I'm awaiting test results. But my sincere concern is can I take them both together? And I already take kolnopin got anxiety and on the side effects I seen a lot of people said they got nervous, the shakes, couldn't sleep, and other scary symptoms. I'm wondering what I could eat or do so the bactrim won't tear my stomach up? Any info would be greatly appreciate. My son had an ear infection a month ago and was prescribed a 10 day course of Bactrim. He now has another ear infection and has been prescribed it again. Is it ok to use the bactrim left from a month ago or should I get the new script filled? I went to my pulmonary doctor today. I wasn't sure if I had allergies or an upper respiratory infection (not severe). I have asthma, and did not do as well with my breathing tests as I usually do. I have been prescribed bactrim that has 58\98 on it and I took all my doses and later I took a pregnancy test because I was late and I ended up two weeks pregnant can that harm the baby? ## How do you know how far along you are, unless you've already had a doctor's exam? As to the antibiotic, it is very doubtful that it would cause harm that early on, but it is best to see an OB Gyn and let them know that you were taking it, to be certain. I've been on bactrim ds for 50 hours because i was diagnosed with cellulitis and it seems only when i elevate my leg that redness appears inside my thigh and it has gotten bigger and warm . but only when i elevate it do i notice this . should i be worried? also I've noticed its been a bit itchy what does that mean? ## Hello, Willard! About a week and a half ago I came down with a really bad sore throat. Swollen tonsils. White pus on them. Slight, low-grade fever. No coughing. No sinus issues. Some body/joint/muscle aches. Rapid strep (for Type A) came back negative. Mono test was negative. But I was given Z-Pak antibiotic for three days. That helped. Sore throat was almost gone. Then I got hit with a different kind of sore throat. Pain felt different. Then I started getting small "white head" type pimples on my neck and shoulders. I went back to the doctor. If u need a new script, call you're Dr. No medications should b used if they have expired. I just cleaned out medicine cabinet. ## To add some specifics, antibiotics are very problematic, once past their expiration, because as they begin to lose efficacy, they may not completely eradicate bacteria, which creates the risk of developing antibiotic resistant bacteria. If I'm allergic to Bactrim, can I take glucosamine sulfate, methylsulfonylemethane, hyaluronan, boswellia serrata, white willow bark, turmeric root extract, cayenne.
