My husband died 6 days after taking Atenolol prescribed by a well known heart Dr. my husband had copd and we found out later he should never have been prescibed a beta blocker. ## Dear Kathy, Sorry to hear about your husband's passing. My condolences go out to you and your loved ones who are left to cope. Have you sought out the idea of taking legal action? Would there be any way for an attorney to prove that Atenolol was the culprit? I don't know the full situation here but it sounds to me like the prescribing Dr. should feel at least some sense of responsibility to empathize with you and your family. Having that feeling of closure and understanding that your husband is resting in peace is what I would probably deem most important. Although no dollar amount can replace your hus...

I have been taking Totamol(Atenonol) for quite a number of years now. I switched a couple of times to other medicines to treat my high blood pressure due to serious and numerous side effects. Once again on the Atenolol 50mg, daily and amlodipine, 5mg, blue round pill. The combination of these two pills is shedding my hair excessively. I am a 57 year old black woman and this is very traumatic for me. As I live in the Caribbean, my GP, does not take any interest in my complaint regarding my hair loss. At the moment I have a boyish crew cut, which makes me look very manly and unattractive. This has led to me feeling depressed at times, because I know that doctors here don,t see this as a problem especially at my age. Can you please recommend those blood pressure pills that do not have hair...

will hyaluronic acid capsules to treat joint pain have any side effects with high blood pressure medicine atenolol/chlorth ## Hello, Lilly! How are you? Unfortunately, these natural substances aren't evaluated for possible interactions with prescription medications, so I don't have such information. In theory, I'd think it should be fine, but it would be best to double check with your doctor, before taking it. Does it really help with your joint pain? ## Hi, I have been using Hyaluronic (HA) supplements for the past 2/3 years and noticed my BP was consistently higher 130/90 for the past several months. Does atenolol interact with concerta? I was prescribed both by two different doctors and I want to know if they are safe to take together. ## Hello, Dawn! How are you? Are both doctors aware of all of your medical conditions? If you are taking Atenolol to treat high blood pressure or a cardiac condition, it may not be safe for you to take Concerta. The FDA classifies Concerta as a stimulant. It is most commonly used to treat ADHD and narcolepsy, so it carries the risk of being habit forming and may cause side effects, such as nausea, dizziness, headache, irritability, insomnia, nervousness and elevated blood pressure and heart rate.

Anyone know what this pill is along with some sources to back it? ## Hi Jeff, From what I could gather, this is reportedly a 100 mg Atenolol Tablet, marketed under the brand name Tenormin. However, I'm finding that sources to back this up are scarce to come by, and I'm not sure why that might be unless it's a foreign or counterfeit medication. A comment in another thread had also mentioned what the diameter/size of the pill is supposed to be: Discuss/cyclobenzaprine-191970.htm Maybe that clue can at least be verified if you have a way to measure it. I hope this helps!

I have only taken 5 or 6 of the atenolol but my bp and my heart rate is fluctuating way too much. It has dropped my heart rate to 51 this morning so I'm not taking this anymore. I'm going to start taking a supplement called "under pressure". I have no other health problems except a sinus problem. I had always taken supplements for my bp which worked fine until I went to a dr for my sinuses and the dr., gave me two nasal sprays. One of them was named msg which is a steroid that caused my bp to get out of control. The doctor put me on amlodipine-benazepril, which gave me tinnitus, then he gave me lisinopril which swelled my tongue. Can you give me any advice about the "under pressure" supplement which I was told can eliminate high blood pressure after about 6 to 8 ...

I started using Atenolol 50mg daily in January 2002. For years I considered it a "wonder drug" since it easily took care of my BP issues and had no noticeable problems with side effects. I started noticing earlier this year that my BP was fluctuating more than normal... almost like the Atenolol was no longer effectively regulating it. I also just didn't feel like "myself" though I was still functional at home and work. Over the Thanksgiving weekend I developed Bradycardia episodes... a very slow irregular heartbeat that was approaching 40 beats per minute. These episodes increased immediately after taking my daily Atenolol dose. After the holiday I went to the emergency room and was there for a night in the hospital for observation. All results came back negative inc...
