the tablet is small, white and round. One side has 61 or 19 written on it, the other side has the letters RE. ## RE 19 contains 25mgs of Atenolol, a generic for Tenormin, this is used in the treatment of high blood pressure. I need help identifying the Mexican pill thoratoz (atenolol 50 mg). I bought my mom's blood pressure medicine in Mexico and it looks so different from US that she's afraid to take it. blood pressor ## my mom has been getting dizzy latly. drs. cant find anything wrong. she claims that her eyes feel heavy then when she gets dizzy she rubs her eyes and then it passes. she nhas been on atenonal for 10 yrs. can this be doing it? has any one have same complaints? i think she needs a med change? ## Atenolol, as well as other drugs used to treat high blood pressure are very well-know to sometimes cause dizziness in certain people or with prolonged use. Side effects of Atenolol include: Indegestion, constipation, dry mouth, dizziness or faintness (especially cases of orthostatic Hypotension), cold extremities, hair loss, runny/blocked nose, depression and confusion, difficulty sleeping, nightmares, fatigue, weakness or lack of energy. There are many generic manufacturers and each one of them will make a pill that looks different. There are no rules saying that pills with the same ingredient have to look the same! The size, color, shape and imprint will all vary from manufacturer to manufacturer. The only relevant regulations from the FDA state that they must have unique imprints for identification purposes, but these will even differ by manufacturer and strength of the med.
