I tried Singulair but it caused me extremely dry mouth, so much so that despite the medication's benefits I don't know if I want to continue using it. Does this side effect of dry mouth wear off with continued use of Singulair? If so, after how long? ## Hello, Shira! How are you? Yes, side effects are usually transient and taper off in severity, then go away entirely, once your body gets used to a medication. It usually takes about 4 to 5 weeks. Other typical side effects, as listed by the FDA, may possibly including headache, dizziness, joint pain, sweating and constipation. Sometimes sucking on mints or candies can help, or regularly sipping some water. Is there anything else I can help with? ## Thanks for your reply, I do have some other questions: Can the benefits of Singula...

I have been having itching, burning, and inflammation in my perineum region... it feels like pin pricks and the skin seems to be getting thin. I am using petroleum jelly and a little Valbet which is beclomethasone, dipropionate, miconazole nitrate, & neomycin which earlier was good on the bruised skin after itching but not now. All tests this time showed no infection whereas I did have yeast.

I have had HES for 12 years and want to trial Mepolizumab. My specialist has been unable to get me on a trial. What avenues do I have? ## It is really entirely up to the criteria set by the testing agencies and manufacturer, if they don't think you fit the patient profile, then they have the right to refuse you from their clinical trials and, unfortunately, you have no recourse in most countries. It's not the same as if someone were denying you a treatment options that has actually been proven to be life-sustaining. What reason did they give for not letting you into the trials? ## Thanks for your reply Verwon. In a nutshell, I didn't qualify for the trial because my death is not imminent. I have some control using hydroxyurea although the side effects depress all blood cell ...

My Farther has been diagnosed with congestive heart failure with terrible blue thick swollen legs, water sometimes leaks through the skin. The cardiologist gave him Sandoz Theophylline 200mg, Plenish K, Cortaject, Angised, I found out what the rest is for {Pulmison, Purgoxin. Spiractin} but couldn't find anything on the 1st 4 pills. Could you please let me know what it's for. ## Hello, Esta! How is your father doing? Plenish K is a potassium supplement used to prevent the potassium loss that may happen, when someone is on medications to remove excess fluid from the body. It can be dangerous, if someone's potassium drops too low, so the doctor likely prescribed this as a precautionary measure. The FDA does warn that potassium supplements can be very rough on the stomach, so h...

I've been taking symbicort for about twelve days. After 6th day, started to develop an all over (arms, torso, legs) itchy rash. Had been taking other drugs, so put it down to those, but have been off them for several days now and rash still with me. Should I stop? I'm was due to stop in next few days. ## Hello, David! How are you? Yes, it would be best to stop using it and consult your doctor. An itchy rash is usually the sign of an allergic reaction, so this may not be the right medication for you to use. The FDA lists other possible allergic reactions as including dizziness, swelling and trouble breathing. Is there anything else I can help with?

I have copd and get a lot of mucus once I get it coughed up I can breathe better will the iputronium bromide help break it up with ventolin ## Hello, Pat! How are you? No, the iputronium bromide does not help break up and expel mucous. It works to open the bronchi. Its typical side effects are listed by the FDA as possibly including nausea and headache. The same is true of the Ventolin, it relieves bronchial spasms. Its typical side effects may include nausea, dizziness, headache and nervousness. Is there anything else I can help with?

Hi can I take this medication with anvil om? Pharyngitis and strep throat is making me restless and I can't get any rest from the pain........ Can this medication or illness cause me to have a asthma attack? ## Hello, Reesa! How are you? I didn't find any problems or interactions listed, so it should be okay, as long as your doctor approves. The FDA lists the typical side effects of this antibiotic as possibly including nausea, dizziness, headache, non-allergic skin rash and diarrhea. The asthma would depend on how much it's affecting your lungs, or if you have an allergic reaction to something. Is there anything else I can help with?

How are you? West-ward Pharmaceuticals lists this tablet as containing 10mgs of Prednisone, so no, you shouldn't raise your dosage, without your doctors approval. How long have you been taking the current dosage? It does take a few days for it to work.
