I'm not sure of the mg amount, but I was give Ativan in the er on September 20th and I took a drug test on October 7th. I tested positive for Valium. Is this possible? ## Would Ativan be given in a hospital to an alcoholic following a relapse? ## Yes. It is given to help withdrawals. ## No they would not its for pplz who have ADHD or anxiety etc am on it my self ## No it is not possible. There was some confusion on one of the parties involved.

To the people in here that say "there is no way to confirm if the pills are in fact alprazolam "XANAX" without a lab. OMFG! REALLY? I don't wanna tick anyone off but there is in fact a sure fire way to tell. at least in my case. I have ptsd and have been on them for 20 + years. i also take them strange i guess. I place them under my tongue to dissolve. the reason i mention this is because Xanax has a VERY distinct taste. Even after all this time, i am not used to it. bottom line. If it taste like Xanax then it IS Xanax. I really do hate to take meds but I have been cursed with ADD, severe depression and anxiety. Are there any patches for Adderall, Paxil or Xanax? ## I'm sorry, but as far as I'm aware, there are not patches available for any of these medications. Do you have a problem swallowing medications? The FDA warns that Xanax and Adderall carry the risk of being habit forming and may cause side effects, such as nausea, dizziness, headache, irritability, and anorexia. Have you spoken to your doctor? They might be able to prescribe some of them in capsule form, so you can mix it in something else to make them easier to swallow. ## I looked up these three medications and they all seem to come in a liquid form as well!

I was in the ER for a panic attack and they IV'ed me with 2mg of Ativan. That was on Saturday morning and it is now Monday. I still feel like I want to crawl out of my skin and I'm irritable. Can I possibly be having withdrawal from only one dose of the Ativan? I've never taken it before and so I don't know if I should still feel like this? ## Hello, Dma! How are you? Side effects in high doses like if you eat 15 of em it pretty much erases your memory for quite sometime if you drive you will be all over the road possibly roll ur truck or go in the ditch and the next day have zero memory so just take the recommended dose trust me I know ## Hi Jim, I don't know why anyone would care to eat 15 of these puppies, but at that point I would probably suggest calling poison control or 911 for what would be considered a serious overdose in my opinion. Side effects from just about any medication are also known to be much more prevalent when you not only go above, but far and beyond the recommended dosage prescribed by your doctor. Even at standard doses these types of medications can cause such side effects, but perhaps not nearly as severe as it would be ...

I just got prescribed Klonopin, which I was on when I was 13 (now almost 23), but ever since having my Son, all the medications that I used to take no longer work. I have a severe panic disorder, along with agorophobia. I don't ever leave my house, and I am constantly panicing. They have tried to put me on nortripilyn, but I haven't been able to get myself to take it yet... So we are trying Klonopin 1mg to see if it will calm me enough where I can start on an antidepresant and get back in psycho therapy. But, I am terrified of the side effects. I have been having a ton of bad luck with doctors lately :( Then as I found a great therapist to begin work treating my CPTSD the other doc decided they were not going to prescribe me valium anymore. No real reason given, I've been on them for about 10 years for anxiety/CNS issues. So she gave me 11 pills @2mg to get off completely. This seems very quick/low dose to me. Nervous as heck! Any help appreciated. ## While I understand it doesn't really help you, no doctor is obligated to prescribe you any given medication. I've been on 1mg Ativan for at least 15 years that I take at night before bed. I tried to quit a couple of years ago and ended up in the doctors office 2 days later only to learn I can't just stop taking it. I'm just thankful I didn't take 3 a day as prescribed. What is the best way to stop taking this medication? ## Check out the Ashton manual. Unfortunately benzodiazepines surprise patients with how difficult they can be to withdraw and most prescribers don't give informed consent. Good luck. ## Usually you have to do a very gradual taper to safely stop taking this class of medications. Your doctor should be able to help you set up a safe tapering schedule for you. And noticed the pharmacist changed my Mg from 2mg to 1mg with out a docs order.i can understand if they were oír ir 2mg and then gave me 1mg but wouldnt they have to give me dble being it was original 60 count? I have been getting prescriptions for xanax for the past 2 months and my doctor told me I have to take a urine screening next month on January the 11th. I also am a chronic user of marijuana and have been for the past 2 years. Will my doctor stop prescribing me my xanax if i test positive for THC as well??
