I suffer from severe anxiety when having dental procedures or extractions. Other than the anesthetic the dentist gives, what can I ask my regular doc or psychiatrist just for each dental visit? ## To avoid being viewed as a drug seeker, it is usually best to avoid asking for any specific medication. Ihave been taking xanax the past 18 years only as needed. This medication not only helps with my severe anxiety and anger problems. My current doctor for the past 2.5 years has been giving me xanax to take twice a day for a 30 day supply and this usually last me about 6months. Well my PCP has been instructed by his NP that new guidelines state he cant prescribe xanax but klonopin is ok. Is this truely a guidline in MS or simply a recommendation? As I can not find any literature confirming this. Although the klonopin is working ok it takes hours for my anger to subside when it would be immediate with xanax. I'm not sure if there are any specific laws regarding this matter (especially with only 1 day to spare), but I do believe your doctor is the one who is supposed to give you prior authorization towards getting a refill by a certain date. Some pharmacists also like to give patients a hard time when it comes to medications that are commonly abused. But if you go in there and they throw up resistence, it doesn't seem like there's much you can do as a customer, except wait it out or take your business to another pharmacy. I have to take a drug test next week, ( in seven days), and took 2 mg of Ativan. I was wondering if it will show in a urine test. I am 165 lbs and have a reasonably high metabolism. ## After 7 days, no it should not show in a urine test, thought it will be detectable much longer in blood, tissue or hair tests.
