Have been told by my GP I have to come off citalopram because manufacturer has withdrawn this drug. Would appreciate if anybody knows about this. ## NOT true. I just talked to my pharmacist yesterday about some issues I have with the generic. She said nothing about it. the brand name is still available also. ## I have done a lot of research and came with the same answer as yourselrf. Can't understand why they would say this. ## Is there possibly some type of shortage, or something going on in your country? I know there isn't one here, but I am in the U.S., so I don't know what's relevant elsewhere.

i have just been given Lustral and was told to stop taking the Amitriptyline has anyone been changed onto this and is it working for you thanks Claire x ## Hi i was on both, 150 sertroline ( lustral ) and i think it was 45 mg amitriptyline, but that one is a sleeper, so not good for anyone, it makes you feel so rough whereas just taking the sertraline now only higher dose of 200mg but it works much better than the combined two. Im glad youve been told to stop taking them, my psyc even said i could take in pregnancy :O i did in the beginningthen stopped....... my baby was then born prem so not sure if they played a part in it or not but they are no good for you, they knock you out and you never want to wake up or when you do you never feel fully awake, well thats my view anyway ha :) ## ...

Hi I have been taking citalopram for about 6 months now but thing still don't seem right so please could someone give me some help as my doctor is not good at all. I have had anxiety and panic attacks for about 17 years maybe more anyway I have always just got on with it up till last year December when I had a problem with my Throat so then my mind went thinking of everything you can think of wrong with me as most anxiety people do but this went on for about a week until the Saturday my panic attacks were just one after another I thought I was going mad so the Monday I was prescribed citalopram gr8. Can taking Lexamil 20 mg cause Anorexia? ## Lexamil contains the active ingredient Escitalopram, which is an SSRI antidepressant and, usually, these medications cause the opposite problem, but it is difficult to say how any medication will affect any given person that takes it. Have you spoken to your doctor about it? ## i have a similar thought re lexamil and anorexia, although i have read that a lot of people experience weight gain? I have been using lexamil for just over a year (previously used cilift and zoloft for aprox 10yrs) and the weight loss \ obsession with not eating is very evident and noticable?

I took this horrible drug against me better nature because my GP informed me that it was a very gentle drug that would help me get through therapy. It was only ever going to be a short term thing. I took this medicine for 10 weeks. It worked almost immediately. I stopped getting heart flutters, the panic attacks and hallucinatory anxiety attacks stopped. However, after a while I got chronic stomach pains, everything I ingested left my body painfully after 15 minutes, even water or juice. I thought I had a tummy bug. Suffering severe dehydration and having so many medical tests to try to find what the poison was, turns out it was severe side effects. I pretty much couldn't stay out of the bathroom for 6 weeks, during which I stopped taking the Sertraline/zoloft product. A year later,...

I have decided to stop using citalopram because i'm afraid of side effects. I started with 5 drops at evening , 6 drops the second day and 7 at the third time that was yesterday..I would like to know how degrading the dosage in order to avoid bad effects. Thanks, ALF. ## Usually for drugs like this the safest way to stop taking them is to tapper off them, if possible. Some medications can be taken in fractions (actually cut into pieces) and these smaller pieces can be taken in place of the regular dose for a period of several weeks until the body is no longer dependent upon them. Is your medication in liquid form? If so, I think you are doing well in simply counting how many drops you use, even it takes a little longer to taper off of in this manner. I take one tablet in night for migraine headache but sometimes I get haedache what can I do for this ## Trytanol contains the active ingredient Amitriptyline, which is a tricyclic antidepressant that can also help with migraines. And what else has your doctor advised you to use for the headaches? You should check with them to be safe, but you should be able to use something such as Acetaminophen for the headaches.

As to the medication, it contains Escitalopram and Clonazepam and is most commonly used to treat depression and anxiety. I have been taking Citalopram for 2 weeks and have been suffering painful headaches and aching joints. I also have had an ulcer on my tongue for the past 3 days. Just feeling worse for taking them. Has anybody else had similar effects and do they get better? ## Headaches can be a side effect, most of which will wear off after about a month, as your body gets used to the medication. Mouth ulcers and aching joints are not normal reactions to SSRI antidepressants. Please call your doctor to rule out a severe adverse reaction or some other illness. ## i was on lexapro but my insurance wouldn't pay for it any more. use to take rimron off and on and when on I got sick to my stomach. now I go the stoach without rimron. wonder is one of my other drugs contains some of the ingediance as rimiron ## Did you mean Remeron, which contains the active ingredient Mirtazapine?
