My mom is 78 and recently started with panic attacks and depression. Her doc put her on Cilift. She has been on for 2 weeks now and still no change except her hands shake and she is at time neaseous. How long till the Cilift kicks in and will the symptoms/side effects go away. She has high blood pressure which is being treated. Thank you ## This is Citalopram an antidepressant. They normally take 30 to 45 days to start working fully. This drug under that brand name Cilift is not available in the US. However the Citalopram is available.in the US. ## Rb is correct, most medications take at least a month to reach their full effectiveness. I started on a course of Bup. XL of 150 mg for the first week and then double that the second week. Mornings which had been so difficult for me were great, but when I switched to the 300, I had terrible insomnia, and trouble reading. So the doctor switched me to Bup. SR 200 mg, and I am back to exhausted again. I have plenty of the XL left and am considering switching back and maybe cutting the second pill in half. Any recommendations or experience? ## The first thing that needs to be cleared up for you is that the XL and SR mean the same thing, there is no difference in those. They are both just abbreviations that designate those ones are being time released. If you were doing so well on the 150mg dosage, why did he want you to keep going up? It would really make more sense to stay at ...
Have been on 150mg for a while, now back on 50mg. I eat we'll and do ww but weights crept up, has anyone else found they gained weight and is it easy to still loose it x ## Hi Sara, Based on my research, "changes in weight" is listed as a general side effect of Sertraline. This could mean that it causes your weight to fluctuate up or down without any prior warning. Because this side effect can be unpredictable, it's not really something you can control outside of what you're already doing (exercising regularly and eating well). If it were me, I'd probably be focused on a lower fat diet and cutting out all refined sugars to help combat it as much as possible. But one can only do so much when the medication you're taking is going against your very efforts. You ...
I was put on mirtazapine due to weight loss and am coming off it. IT is a difficult drug to come off and I am going through hell. They do not tell you what will happen if you decide to want to come off them because in their eyes you are not supposed to come off. so be wary before taking them I wish I had not ## I'm sorry about the problems you are experiencing. However, it is well known that our bodies will get used to anything that we ingest on a regular basis, for a long period of time and will react if such a substance is suddenly withdrawn. How are you stopping it? Have you done a gradual taper? That is usually the best way to do so, to prevent the worst of the withdrawal/rebound effects. You can learn more Mirtazapine details here. Sometimes, a doctor will have you gradually lo...

White (possibly a very light yellow), Oblong (similar to the size of a citalopram pill), there is a 15 on the top of the pill, centered in the middle of the pill; also it has a | (A.K.A. a score mark). There are no other markings on this pill. I got it for severe back pain from my sister, who got it from her friend. It makes me feel like I am on heroin or other strong opiates (feels much stronger than the Percocet 10's I was given for after wisdom tooth extraction) also there appears to be some medium to o o medium-fast tracers. Of course it could just be being produced by the combo I'm on right now: A lil DXM some antihistamines, 1000mgs of aspirin, also 400mg ER seroquel, and 1.5 of those white pills (still don't know what they are though. Anyways some help would be apprec...

CAN I TAKE CITALOPRAM HBR 20 MG AND ADIPEX? ## No, these two actually should not be taken together. When combined, they each increase the toxicity of each other, which could cause a dangerous reaction just like that of an overdose. There is also the risk of developing serotonin syndrome and both of these interactions have the potential of being fatal. You can learn more Citalopram details here and you can learn more Adipex details here. Is there anything else I can help with?
Can Sertraline 100 mg tablets be cut in to four pieces and still be effective? My doctor has given me the okay to try different dosages. 50 mg is not enough and I would like to try 75 mg but Sertraline does not come in that dosage. I have 100 mg tablets and want to break them in half and then cut some of the havles in half to get 75 mg. Will doing this cause a problem with how effective the medication is? ## There is nothing special about the tablets that will affect the medication if you cut them further, as long as your doctor has okayed it. Learn more Sertraline details here. However, there is a 25mg dosage available, so it may be easier just to ask your doctor to prescribe a couple of them, so you can be more precise about the dosage. Are there any other questions or comments? ## Th...
Hi , I am on lots of medication And take Amitryptiline 75 grammes nightly to help me sleep; somtimes it works and sometimes it doesn't. I take cipralex for depression. Do they conflict? Re my GP and the Amitryptiline he said if you need 25g 50g 75g and so on, I asked will I get addicted? Course you will GP said, should be struck off, but what can you do, anyway that's my story. Thank you P.S . Just took 100grammes tonight Oh joy ## Based on my research, there are potentially dangerous drug interactions that apply to Amitriptyline and Escitalopram (cipralex). Quoted below are the precautions you should be aware of: "Talk to your doctor before using escitalopram together with amitriptyline. Combining these medications can increase the risk of a rare but serious condition calle...
I thought I was losing my mind until I read the posts about the side effects. I've been on 40 mg Viibryd for at least 6 months and it WAS working for anxiety and depression but it seems to have stopped working as well. The side effects of night sweats, sleep paralysis, and especially the 'brain zaps'...that one really knocked me for a loop b/c I thought I was losing it. I haven't really slept well for months b/c of the side effects but am going to talk to my Doctor now. How bad are the withdrawal symptoms? Worse than the side effects are currently? ## Many of those who have complained about the withdrawal symptoms list them as being very similar to the side effects you've mentioned. The best way to usually stop these types of medications is to slowly taper off of the...
I only missed my dose by a few hours. I lied down to go to bed and it was like I was tripping on hallucinogens. Everything I saw in this dream-like state was in a honeycomb type pattern and at one point I thought I was turning into a spider, at another I thought the covers were suffocating me and I was fighting to get them off and screaming for my husband to help me, but in reality I was just dreaming but could not wake up. When I finally did get up I called the pharmacist and told her what happened and asked if I could just stop taking the meds. She said it was dangerous to just stop and that I should talk to my doc about tapering down. I have never had an antidepressant do that to me before. It was really scary and I don't want to take a pill that will have this affect from one mi...
Hi, I ran out of prescription, can't get to my doc to get a new one and have no tablets left = Cold Turkey on the Pristiq I was hoping to come off soon anyway. I know about the brain zaps, nausea and other weirdness, but was wondering if I am possibly doing myself any other damage? ## FYI - I was on the 200mg for about 6 or 7 months, and on Pristiq for over 18 months all up. Feeling pretty shaky right now... ## More fyi. This is awful :( Crazy night sweats are the least disruptive. I feel like my brain is resetting itself mid thought, but I still have that seventh sense of mindsight, watching it happen, so it's helping me not freak out that my brain us breaking. Help? Any thoughts on this? Please tell me if I'm breaking my head. ## How are you doing now, Lily? I hope all is ...
I am a 42 year old woman and have gained weight on a steadily basis since using cylift. My diet and exercise regime has not changed. Not even dieting can assist because the scale just keeps on creeping up, slowly but surely. Can this be happening to me? ## Cilift contains the active ingredient Citalopram, which is an SSRI antidepressant and to be honest, this class of medications is notorious for causing weight gain. Learn more Cilift details here. There's really nothing you can do about it, as long as you are taking the medication, but the weight gain does usually reverse once the drug is stopped. There are other options available. Have you looked into trying a different medication? ## Hi, im 38 and have been on this drug for 7 months now, I have gone from 9 stone to 11 stone 5lb a...
I have done a lot of research on this drug all over the internet for the last week because it's been the absolute worst week of my life. I started taking Viibryd 3 weeks ago for generalized anxiety disorder. I have previously been on effexor for 2 years, took 2 years off any medication, and then recently needed to start medication again. The first week, i had the typical side effects. Nausea, high energy, and insomnia. I knew that my body had to get used to it. By the 3rd night on the 20mg dosage, I was having 5-10 episodes of sleep paralysis with exploding head syndrome & hallucinations a NIGHT. I weened off for a few days, and now i'm completely off for 4 days and STILL having the episodes. I am scared to death to go to sleep at night because it is that terrifying. So, I a...
