For example, gingko has been shown to be beneficial for diabetic retinopathy due to its antioxidant properties. In addition, natural products such as beta-glucan, beta-sitosterol, niacin, omega-3 fatty acids, soy and psyllium have strong supportive evidence in lowering lipid abnormalities commonly seen with diabetes. However, Ulbricht cautioned that these herbal supplements are only to be used as integrative therapies rather then replacing western medicine as the patients’ primary treatment. ## Amitryptyline is an antidepressant that has also been shown to help with anxiety, and some types of nerve pain. Why did your doctor say they were prescribing it? The FDA warns that it ma...

I haven't found any information on the XL versions of Bupropion by Sandoz. Can anyone share their experience with this pill? I just picked it up today. It's a white, round pill with ST 300 imprinted on it. A search on Sandoz's website came up empty. The NDC # is 0781-5529-10. This is the third manufacturer for the XL 300 mg that I've tried. Cipla's version gave me constipation, and I haven't had any side effects with PAR's. ## Hello, I'm not exactly sure what type of information that you're looking for considering you were able to not only give the imprint, but the NDC as well. For now I will simply provide you with all of the information that the NIH provides for this drug and then you can give me further instruction from there as to what you would l...

I need to know what the pill Fluoxetine looks like 10 mg and 20 mg? Please send a picture. ## What does the pill fluoxetine10 mg look like? ## That is almost impossible to say, once a pill is available for generic production and the proprietary patent is over, then many different companies will make it and offer it for sale. There are no regulations that say all pills with the same active ingredients must look the same, their size, shape, and color are entirely up to what the manufacturer decides to make them look like. The only regulations, as per the FDA requirements, say that all prescription drugs sold legally in the US, must have a unique imprint for ID purposes, yet even this will differ under on manufacturer according to dosage. So there is no way someone can possibly tell you wh...

After I eat I feel as though I have food stuck in my throat. Even the tiny, tiny nortriptyline pill taken with a glass of water sometimes feels stuck. Is difficulty swallowing a common side effect or should I be concerned? ## Hello, Sd26! How are you doing? I'm very sorry about the problem that you're having. Is anyone taking these two drugs together? My pharmacist is concerned, but both my Gastroenterologist (who prescribed it for IBS) and Psychiatrist are not concerned as I have no history of seizures. I also take Lamictal for bipolar, which was originally an anti-seizure drug. Confusing. ## Taking them together can lower your seizure threshold, and the Buproprion can increase the effect of the Amitriptyline, so the dosage of the Bupropion should be kept as low as possible, and your doctor should be monitoring you regularly in case any problems arise. Ref: Medscape Interactions You can use that interaction checker to read more. Medline Plus Amitriptyline and Bupropion. However, part of a pharmacist's job is to be cautious, and make sure you are aware of any possible risks, and they oft...
I have been taking 150mg of Pristiq since September; in October I started feeling indifferent about things - didn't care about work or decorating for the holidays; this has gotten worse; is this related to my dosage of Pristiq being too high or too low? ## It may be that your Pristiq dose is too high for you, or it might not be the right medication for you to take, according to FDA reports. Side effects may possibly include nausea, dizziness, headache, dry mouth, and other mood changes. Ref: Medline Plus Pristiq Are you on any other medications? Have you discussed this issue with your doctor?
I’m a 72 year old who has been on 60mg Cymbalta plus 300-2400 mg gabapentin as needed for 4 years for neuropathic pain. The combination has been effective in lowering the baseline of my pain. During this time, however, I have gained a great deal of weight. Recently I’ve had aching and sometimes sharp pain near my liver. This is very concerning for me. I have also experienced blunted emotions during my entire time on these meds. Prior to starting this combo, I never experienced any mood disorder problems. Now that my neuropathic pain is under much better control, I decided to get myself off of the Cymbalta. I have been completely off these meds for 2 weeks+. My blunted emotions have been replaced by increased tearfulness, mood swings, increased irritation and mild outbursts o...

My question to anyone out there is if by having the same or a similar diagnos...
