My son is 12 and I was wondering if Prozac is recommended for kids of his age. ## yes it is better that ritlyn.and much safer, not as many side effects. and doesnt effect the liver ## Dear Donna, I have been on Fluoxetine (Geteric Prozac) for a little over a year. I am a 25 year old female and it has worked great for me. My oldest son shows signs of possible ADHD and I know that anxiety and depression run in genes. We have waited to see how our son acts when he starts school this fall to see weather he may have to be treated. I agree with Jonnie in that it it better then ritalin. ## Yes, it is sometimes prescribed for children. Ref: Prozac Dosing Information However, it should only be given, if a doctor has prescribed it for them. The FDA lists its typical side effects as possibly inclu...

I have been on Mirtazapine for about 4 months. Had the burning and tingling and sore arms early on, and now they have returned. Causes anxiety, creates more sensations. Recently started cpap therapy and I was feeling so good! Now this, ugh. ## Where are you experiencing the burning, and tingling? Is it just in your arms? Is it just a surface skin issue? Are you on any other medications? Have you ever had shingles? Mirtazapine has been known to cause skin rashes, hives, and herpes virus outbreaks as side effects. Ref: Mirtazapine Information Have you contacted your doctor about this?

I was on brand Lexapro for about eight years with great success. My pharmacy switched me to generic and I was happy to be saving the money, but within a few days, I was nauseous and dizzy, having nightmares and hot flashes, and suffering from depression again. It took me about a month to realize the cause was the generic, and I decided to pay the difference to get the brand. When I asked the pharmacist if this was common, she said those who start on the generic seem to do well, but those who switch from brand seem to have difficulties. Not too long after switching back, I was doing well again. In answer to a few other people who posted, you can not quit lexapro cold turkey, you must wean yourself off!!!! I stopped taking it for awhile by tapering off and had no issues, but after my depr...

Hi there, I am a 40 yr old woman, who started taking Lexapro about 3 to 4 weeks ago, starting on 5mg for the first 2 plus weeks, then increased it a few days ago to 10mg as directed by my Dr. My history of depression is this: I feel I have dysthymic disorder with major depression disorder tendencies. I have suffered a few bouts of severe reactive depression as a result of some considerable life stressors in the past, which then, you could say, turned into simple Major Depressive Disorder. At one of these times I took Lexapro with good effect. I think I have been depressed (often mildly) for years, but struggled through. I also have considerable anxiety, which has plagued me for 10 plus years, generally focusing on my health. Before biting the bullet and seeing a Dr this time, I was cons...

After researching online and my own experience, camber sertraline works as well as greenstone. I could only take greenstone, now I’m on brand name Zoloft. Walgreens has a card from Pfizer that saves me hundreds of dollars a month. After a year I’ll need to get my insurance and doctor to approve a tier reduction for the price of the brand name. ## Hello J, I have some bittersweet news to deliver. It turns out that Greenstone was the generic brand owned by Pfizer, which is the company that manufactuers the brand name Zoloft. On the bright side the pills are nearly identical only differing in color dye inactive ingredients. From what I read it was no longer in the companies best interest to continue manufacturing the generic and decided to only manufacture the brand name. If yo...

Do they work as well as PAR brand? Any other comments on this brand of Bupropion? ## Do not work as well. And couldn't return them. CVS still uses PAR and CVS policy is to inform before providing different brand. ## PAR Bupropion works better for me, (used 2 years). Get it in CVS by request only. I tried CIPLA for about 4 months, don’t like it at all. Back to PAR. ## Why didn’t they work? What were all your side effects?

After discontinuing Viibryd, has anyone noticed their hair NOT becoming thick again? I've been on 60 mg for about 8 months. My hair is now falling out by the handfuls.. I have an appointment to see my dr. next week but I'm terrified my hair won't grow back! Not to sound self centered or shallow but I adore my hair! Had I of known this was a side effect I'd never agreed to try this medication. I'm terrified, as I've already stated, but I am also angry that this information isn't given by drug reps who push these meds! I pay 277$ a month for this RX & now have to worry about withdrawals, my hair possibly not growing back & adjusting to a new medication. Any replies are welcome & will be appreciated! ## Hello, Amanda! How are you? I'm very sorry ...

I have been prescribed Remeron 15mg and Klonopin 0.5 for anxiety and lack of sleep. After 40 days I still have too much anxiety and racing thoughts to fall asleep, and I've gained no weight. So my Dr put me on Seroquel XR 150 mg one week ago (Aug 14) and will be able to fill a new Rx for Ativan to try on Aug 30 once the Klonopin Rx is "completed". The Klonopin no longer helps with anxiety as I get those dreaded warm rushes of pain the fill my face, neck, chest, and arms even after I take one. I'm reaching out for help because as I transition from Remeron to Seroquel it's still hard to fall asleep and the grogginess during the day is torture. What meds or combo has anyone taken to help fall asleep, slow the racing thoughts, decrease anxiety and agitatation, and just h...

Thanks ## I can't find a listing for this. Are you in the U.S.? It could be a very new tablet on the market. Did you contact your pharmacy to double check? ## Hi - Thank you for trying to look it up for me. I am from South Africa. I didn't want to phone my pharmacist, because she is actually a very good friend of mine for year's, I was afraid to offend her, so I phoned Glaxo Smith Kline's head office in Johannesburg (South Africa) today, and the lady there described the pill to me as creme coloured, round& with the letters like I said in my ...

I don't normally visit these forums but I was interested in experience generic escitalopram versus Lexapro. I find the generic works better than without anything but am thinking of trying Lexapro to see if it works better - I first started with lexapro a couple of years back so I just don't remember. I am concerned there are so many comments about generic escitalopram having bad side effects - given they both have the same chemistry, it does not make sense to me ## I had been taken the generic lexapro and it just didn't work. My depression came back, I was having suicidal thoughts, my anxiety returned and was becoming very OCD again. Even though the generic brand is free, I have decided to take the brand name Lexapro. I am feeling much better now, even though I have to pay $...

So sorry about the long crazy title but I'm not in the best of shape. This is simply because it's the weekend and can't get my Cymbalta until tomorrow. Last nite was my second nite without it, 60 mg. I can't stop crying, ears ringing, head all funky etc... I have an important engagement I have to do today and just don't know if I can manage it. I read that Effexor has is the same type drug so was wondering if anyone had ever substituted? I know all the stuff about asking your doctor etc... but that is not possible. Not holding anyone liable, just needing info! Thanks! ps have not gotten deathly ill yet as I have in the past, knock wood!

I picked up my prescription for bupropion HCL XL and noticed the shape and imprint is different than it's ever been. It is an oblong tablet with "I" on one side and 13 on the other. There are no score lines. I'm unable to find it through any search and want to make sure it's the correct medication. Any help is appreciated. ## It's just a change in Manufacturer. I noticed the difference too today when picking up my prescription. If you go to Cipla USA's website, they have the image and description of the updated pill. Before this one, I had the round pill with A 101 printed on it, but that was manufactured by a different company. ## I have been trying to find this same pill I picked up at my pharmacy days ago. I started pristiq approx 5 weeks ago and altho my doctor assured me that it was a weight neutral drug I have easily gained 12 pounds and right exactly around the middle. I have been very careful not to consume more calories and have even been more active. I am very concerned that the weight gain will continue or will it just become a side effect that the body gets used to and eventually levels out? I do feel so much better on the drug and this has been my only side effect. I have a small frame however, and a dozen pounds all in the same spot is hard to conceal especially in the warmer weather. If anyone has any thoughts on some solutions other than discontinuing the drug I would greatly appreciate the advice. I sure wish that all these antidepressants did not come with some major trade ...

I would like to know how much weight you can gain on this medication? ## my doctor put me on zoloft and i need to know about weight gain and any side effects it may have ## It really depends on the individual, some people don't gain any weight on it, some people only gain about 10 pounds, and still others continue gaining as long as they take it. According to FDA reports, its other typical side effects may also include nausea, dizziness, headache, dry mouth, and mood changes. Ref: Zoloft Information The best thing to do is to maintain a healthy, well rounded diet, and get plenty of proper exercise, while you are on it, to help minimize the weight gain side effect. Are you on any other medications?
