I've been on brentillix for about 3 weeks. It HSS been a God send, up until about a week ago. I woke up with s severe headache that had literally lasted all week and, no OTC pain meds have worked. Also, the med is insanely expensive! Talked to my Doc and he called in the generic of Effexor. Will it work the as well for the depression/anxiety as the Brentillix did? Reading this forum has caused me to be really discouraged. Any insight would be greatly appreciated! ## Hello, Lamb chop! How are you? Effexor contains the active ingredient Venlafaxine, it is an SNRI, so it's a little different than the Brintellix, but still similar. It is approved by the FDA to treat depression and anxiety, it's successfully helped many people. It's typical side effects are listed as possibly...

I took citalopram 20mg two days in a row without being prescribed it. I learned that I can't just stop taking it whenever, so I wanted to stop now before my body becomes accustomed to it. Will I have any major problems with this? ## Hello, Phil! How are you? No, there shouldn't be any major problems after just two doses, but if you're concerned, please speak to your doctor. Celexa is an SSRI antidepressant and stopping them abruptly, after being on them for awhile, risks causing rebound anxiety and depression. Typical side effects, as listed by the FDA, may possibly include nausea, dizziness, headache, dry mouth and weight changes. Is there anything else I can help with?

So I made the mistake of going from being on 40mg of prozac for a year to 0 mg cold turkey around Nov. 24. Withdrawal symptoms didn't kick in until about 3 weeks later when I had terrible diarrhea in the morning. Since then, I've had daily GI upsets including diarrhea, painful trapped wind at night, indigestion, abdominal cramps, etc. Along with this (or maybe caused by these symptoms) my anxiety has come back with a vengeance and I've had tons of crying spells and constant flu like symptoms. About 7 weeks through being off, I couldn't take it and went back to the doctor who prescribed me on 20mg of Prozac which i've been taking for 3 days now. I know it's relatively soon to tell any difference, but my GI upsets have been continuing and I read that withdrawal sym...

Instead of bupropion 150mg xl tab 150mg 24hr (A 101), I received bupropion xl tab 150mg (681). Will it last 24hr like the (A 101) pill will? They said it would, but I have doubts. ## Hi Marci, From what I could gather, both pills are reported to contain 150mg of Bupropion in extended release form (A101 being a brand name Budeprion XL / and 681 being a generic form of Bupropion XL). So if the extended release tablets are supposed to last 24hrs I don't see any reason why this other pill wouldn't hold true to that. However it seems to me that the only way to know for certain would be to actually try it and see for yourself since everyone responds to these medications differently based on tolerance and other factors. Things like binders/fillers have been known to impact bioavailabil...

I am on 10 mg of lexapro which I take when I wake up. I got a head cold and took 2 nyquil at 11:30pm. I didn't even think about the meds till after. I'm a little nervous because I looked it up after the fact. It's been about 20 mins I hope I'll be ok. ## @ro pal, I'm really glad you took some time to post this because there actually is a drug interaction listed between Lexapro and Nyquil. The University of Maryland Medical Center states that using the two together may increase blood levels of dextromethorphan (one of the main active ingredients in Nyquil) potentially increasing your risk of serious adverse effects. On the bright side it sounds to me like you probably had enough time in between doses to not be too concerned about this interaction, but Umm.edu goes on ...

My doctor recently put me on citalopram. I lost my appetite and feel exhausted with this pill. Is this a side effect? ## Citalopram is not a narcotic, it is an SSRI antidepressant. And yes, those can be side effects, while your body is adjusting to the medication, you may also experience nausea and dry mouth. It usually takes about 4 to 6 weeks for the medication to reach its full effects and then the side effects should slowly start to taper off. However, if you don't experience any improvement, you should contact your doctor. Are there any other questions? ## Will citaprolam make me gain weight...also im interesred in all news about incivek and all hep c news ## How long does citalopram remain active in your body ## Is Citalopram Hydrobromide perscribed for menopause patients?

How are you? I'm very sorry that you're so miserable. Due to the new regulations set forth by the DEA last year, if you require such a medication on a long-term ongoing basis, you'll need to see a psychiatrist, a general practitioner won't be able to prescribe them for you. That may be why you've had to try so many SSRIs. The FDA lists benzodiazepines as most commonly being used to treat anxiety ...

Is this safe to take wellbutrin 150xl After the company had to recall the wellbutrin 300xl. This was originally Teva and is renamed global pharmaceuticals? Are they now FDA approved again? I currently have WB 150 xl 681 oval yellow. I have taken it for a month , but am. baffled of all the stuff i just read..I feel like a. statistic. I also feel like stopping the medication immediately because i feel like its all a scam ## Hi, Silvia! I think you're misunderstanding information regarding the manufacturing of medications. When a medication is available as a generic, it is usually manufactured by several different companies, this creates competition, which helps keep prices lower for those who are uninsured. So Teva has not been renamed Global, they are two different prescription drug ...

All through the 1960's my mother used to take a small round purple pill for her nerves. Any idea if it was an antidepressant, sedative or tranquilizer? ## Hi cb, Unfortunately without knowing what the actual imprint is, it would be extremely difficult to try and determine what exactly it might be. Both, manufacturers, as well as the pills they make, have undergone so many changes since the 60's (let alone in the past 5 years), that they probably don't even exist anymore. It's also plausible that it could be an OTC drug or dietary supplement of some sort. Would your mother happen to have an idea of what types of medications she took (through previous medical records)? ## Thank you for your reply. The small round purple pills were an Rx and I know she took one per day. I d...

Hey guys. I've struggled with depression for some time and you know how it goes, mess change here and there, always trying to find that balance. I don't remember why I was taken off of imipramine, and I wasn't on it for long. I think at the time my depression was not terribly severe, and I may have even claimed at that time that I did not have depression. Something was wrong to be sure, but it was mostly that I did not derive joy from anything and was apathetic about life in general and devoid of goals or concern for the future. It was AMAZING. On the tenth day or so, I woke up, looked around the room, and felt that I was seeing the world for the first time. I felt my old feelings were just 'poor reasoning,' and it made sense that regular people carry on with work, f...

I have been using Cilift for about 4 months but wake up tired, I don't want to get out of bed in the morning. Can anyone tell me the difference between Cilift and Trepiline? ## Cilift contains the active ingredient Citalopram, which is an SSRI antidepressant. Tripiline contains the active ingredient Amitriptyline, which is a tricyclic antidepressant. Have you discussed this issue with your doctor? ## I went to the hostipal for sevre back and they gave trepliline, I used take citappram anti depression tablets, and this effect me please help

I have been on Paxil CR for 2 years and have gained over 80 pounds. The Dr. says Paxil is not the cause. Has anyone else had a problem like this? Also what is another drug I could try in place of the Paxil? ## I also had some what gane, about 30 pounds in the past yr. I went back to my doctor and he had me try different meds but paxil cr or prozac was the only thing that seemed to work for me , I stay with paxil because ,on prozac you could tell I was using something. If you fiend something that helps keep the weight off let me now please.good luckwith this. James ## paxil, if anything, will decrease appetitie. I think your weight gain is probably due to eating wrong, not exercising enough, and have your thyroid checked. I have been taking Paxil for 3 years and haven't had any troubl...

Hello All, I was taking Lexapro for 3 days and on the third day, I was experiencing problems simular to a panic attack. I have not taken the medicine in 3-4 weeks but I am still having panic attack when I take vitamins. My family doctor has said that Lexapro is out of my system after a few days. Did I just rewire my brain to panic attack after feeling different from vitamins and other OTC meds? ## Hello, MonkeyBoy123! How are you? I'm very sorry about the problem that you're having. No, it is very doubtful that just 3 days of Lexapro would have any type of permanent effect. According to the FDA, its normal side effects may include nausea, dizziness, dry mouth and weight changes. It is classified as an SSRI antidepressant. It is possible that you're just suffering from anxiet...

I just started to take Cit yesterday and I have had problems with nausea but it's a lot worse now, and I have a constant headache, and I find I am clenching my jaw without realizing it, I'm just wondering if these side effects will go away once my body is use to the meds. It's my first time on it and I'm just anxious about it. ## Hi I'm just curious if your side effects have subsided? I just started it tonight and I'm so worried. ## Hello, Red89 and Worried! How are you both doing? In theory, these side effects should go away. According to the FDA, side effects are usually transient and taper off, once your body adjusts to the medication, usually around 4 to 6 weeks. You may also experience nausea, dizziness and mood swings. The reason I said 'in theory' ...

Was not agreeing with prozac panic attacks. Yesterday seen my doctor and said zoloft work much better for anxiety and panic. Been on prozac 20mg for 10 days. His plan is to take zoloft 50 every morning and prozac every other day for three more times and quit. That would mean on three days I would take zoloft in the morning and prozac in the afternoon. Would that be a problem or would it be better just to stop the prozac cold turkey, ## Hello, Izzy! How are you? How long have you been taking the Prozac? They are very similar medications, according to the FDA, both are SSRI antidepressants that may cause side effects, such as nausea, dizziness, headache, dry mouth and weight changes, plus both treat the same conditions. Thus, a switch should be pretty smooth going from one to the other, b...

I have completed 13 treatments and while I never felt any "immediate" effect, I have been doing increasingly better over the past 8 weeks. I can't know for certain if this drug is the reason, but I have not been this functional in at least 3 years. Reportedly, some other patients also did not respond immediately but after 4-6 treatments. I am hopeful. If I continue doing better through February (winter is very bad for me) I will have hope that this depressive "episode" may not be permanent. ## Hello, Citygirl! Are you still doing well? I'm glad this it's helped you. I've not seen many other posts about it, yet. From what I've read via the FDA, it's usually used as an adjunct therapy for major depression that is treatment resistant. It's also s...

I just started taking Celexa tonight 2.5mg to ease into it. I am extremely sensitive to medications. I took prozac last year after devastating miscarriage. I have been off it a year and now my depression and anxiety is back with a vengeance. Help! I feel like my anxiety and depression is worse and it was a super low dose? I'm worried it won't work as I tried to go back on prozac but the side effects were too much. ## Actually, if you read the information provided by the FDA and the NIH, it is very common for this to happen, when you start taking such a medication. They can actually worsen things for about 3 weeks, or so, until your body gets used to the medication. Other side effects may include nausea, dizziness, headache, dry mouth and weight changes. However, if you feel that...

I've been on 10mg of oxy for about 6 months and also went thru a major depression to which I take an anti depressant for. My depression is under control, but I get anxiety so I use the oxy for that. Doc wants me off the oxy, and suggested tapering slowly and possible using clonodine to help with the anxiety during this taper. Can I really be addicted after 6 months? I do know that if I miss my dose I get more anxiety. ## Hello, Mmei! How are you? I believe you're misunderstanding the FDA and DEA definition of addiction. Addiction occurs, when someone abuses a medication, by taking more and more of it to keep experiencing the energizing effect of the high that it makes them feel. Since those are just side effects, they eventually wear off, so they have to take more to get those f...

I spoke to a gentleman named Travis who was very kind and went out of his way to make sure I received what I wanted. Being that it was nearly closing time it really surprised me to have such eager customer service. Really satisfied with the customer service and the pizza. ## Hi Brittany, Glad to hear that the pharmacist (I'm assuming) went out of his way to help you. Based on the topic of your post, it sounds like you're trying to identify a white oblong shaped pill marked with "AP| |3171" on one side... and on the backside of the pill is the number 50 split into three segments (e.g. 50|50|50). Is this correct? If so, what you have there is a 150mg Trazodone Hydrochloride tablet, manufactured by Sandoz. This medication is a serotonin modulator marketed for use in treatin...
