Just started last night 50 mg. Took around 8:30 pm. I woke around 1:50am had to use bathroom. Then tossed, turned all night, brain won't shut off. I think I finally feel asleep around 8:30am woke up 9:40 am... could not get out of bed. Made myself get up. Feel weird, tired but awake. I don't like this feeling. I'm only on day two of zoloft. initial side effects are immense. I have been monitoring severe anxiety attacks with xanax for years. It is really the only way I function in society. I found out a week ago I'm pregnant and had to stop immediately. They prescribed zoloft. I am a bit familiar with antidepressant side effects and know that two days is too soon to give up. But the past two days have been so intense and scarey. My panics are through the roof. Trouble typing the shakes are so immense. Very hard to eat or sleep. And I'm getting lock jaw from grinding my teeth. And of course I'm worried about my pregnancy. I will certainly speak with my Dr about this but want to get through 72 hours or a week first. I started out on a VERY low dose of Paxil 1.5mg for 7 days and today is day 9 and have been on 2.25mg for 2 days. I am on Rezak 20mg a day (Generic for Prozac) and Zanor SR 1mg a day.(Azor) I have been on antidepressants for the last 26 years.The reason was that I had a chemical imbalance (so the Dr said) and was put on tablets. As time has gone by the tablets have been changed.There is always a better one on the market.To cut a long story short, and not bore you, the bottom line is ARE THERE NATURAL TABLETS available in these modern times. Lately I have not been myself.I don't know if it is the new generic that I have been put on. I'm in my mid-thirties and have been suffering from anxiety for a long time. Have been taking xanax for many years and while it helps, I recently decided to give Lexapro a try. I've been on 10 mg for 1 week now. I realized immediately that I was sleeping better but today I had a slight panic attack (which I understand happens in the initial stages of taking the drug). My doc discussed upping the dose eventually but there's no specific timeline. So my question is this: How long did you wait before increasing the dose from 10 mg to say 15 or 20? I have a colleague who started on 10 mg and then went to 15 after one week. Not sure if that's the norm.
