My previous neurologist had me drop Oxtellar cold turkey and start Vimpat the next day, 100 mg. In the morning and 100mg in the evening. Was so sick for a week I couldn't function. Next week was better. But then I began to have shortness of breath, pitting edema, discomfort in my chest and arm. Primary care doctor put me in the hospital thinking it was CHF. Ran tests for 24hrs, had to release me - NOTHING WRONG. I did some research, all side effects of Vimpat. Can't see my new neurologist until March 15!! Want to wean myself off the Vimpat but all my family say NO! Is it safe for me to continue this med??? My eyes are beginning to change to a yellowish color - I just don't know what to do!!! ## Hello, Lillie! How are you doing? Has there been any change? If your eyes are tur...

Been on generic by Northstar for over a year then this last June 2013 I filled my rx again and within 48 hours I went thru syptoms like withdrawl. Trembling, dizzy, nauseous, weak, disoreinted, crying hysterically. This went on for several days. I even went to emergency room and was told my ct scan and blood work came back fine. This went on for a few more days. I asked pharmacy to give me a new refill because I suspected something may have been wrong with this last refill. I improved days later. Very odd. I had been stable for at least two years. Treatment bipolar. I have sent a report to Fda this week and hope that they will test that bottle I suspect might be bad. Anyone else had this problem in the last few months? ## HI, Lena! Sorry about what happened to you. Are you sure the one ...
I have been taking Lamictal (100mg 3x/day) for more than a decade. I take the pill that is peach or pink colored, Six sided and I think made by Mylan or Aurobindo. These pills seem a bit more powdery than the white versions. For whatever reason they work much much better for me, than the white ones…does anyone know how/where i can find these pink pills or know why they work better for me? Anyone else had this experience? ## Have you tried asking your pharmacy about them? They should have records that will allow them to look up who the manufacturer was, and they may be able to order them in for you. Is this the tablet you were taking? If so, it is manufactured by GlaxoSmithKline. The FDA lists the typical side effects of Lamictal as possibly including nausea, dizziness, headache, ...
Is there anyone else taking Keppra and CBD? Do you have any side effects? ## At this time, CBD has not been known to cause any extremely problematic issues when taken with most prescription medications, but it can also vary from person to person, and be dependent on the dosages of the medications, the class of medications, and etc. The FDA does warn, however, that it can increase the risk of experiencing some side effects, such as dizziness, drowsiness, sedation, and difficulty concentrating, as well as the severity of such symptoms. Ref: CBD Information As with anything else, it is always best to check with your doctor, before taking it. My doctor cleared me to take it for nerve pain, but I don't drive, and I work from home, so I wasn't at high risk the first couple times I too...
Hey all - I've been on Lamictal for about 8 months (bipolar) and I titrated up to 200mg, except during the jump from 150-200mg I quit smoking cigarettes and marijuana at almost precisely the same time I upped the Lamictal dose. I read in some medical literature that nicotine suppresses the effectiveness of Lamictal, and I can only speculate about the marijuana/Lamictal relationship. So there I was thinking that I was taking 150mg, but while smoking, my body probably wasn't absorbing/utilizing that much (quantitative difference? not sure). From the dose jump, 150-200mg, I noticed a vast increase in the substantiality of side effects that Lamictal proposed upon me from the get-go. Light headedness, word-finding problems, difficultly reading/spelling, handwriting and math out the w...
Do gabapentin 800 come in the form of a big white oblong pill with no markings and a line down the middle. Or any gabapentin come in the form of a big white oblong pill with no markings and a line down the middle. ## Hello, Tex! How are you? No, prescription tablets in the U.S. all have markings on them to enable their identification, in case of emergency and since Gabapentin is a prescription medication, it wouldn't be available in the U.S. without some type of markings on the tablet. If you have an unmarked pill, then it is most like just an over the counter product. There is a small chance that it could be a foreign medication, since few other countries regulate as strictly as the U.S. and Canada do, but that's not very likely. Is there anything else I can help with? Learn mo...
Here's a link with a comprehensive list of withdrawal symptoms which you can have from Neurotin. The symptoms are from Benzodiazepine (Librium and Valium) withdrawal which is similar to Neurontin. Go down to Withdrawal Symptoms. ## As an observer of someone of someone withdrawing from Gabapentin, all I can say is that I've never seen such behavioral changes in people with Benzo addiction and withdrawal as I have in people taking Gabapentin. This may not be true for people taking a low (100 mg 2x daily) dosage that remains constant over a period of years, but it certainly is for a person who begins on a low dosage which is quickly raised over a period of a year to a rather high (800 mg 3x daily) dosage and then asked to begin titration by a new Pain Management Specialist. The per...
I am pre-menopausal and get a bit irritable at times. My doctor prescribed half a tablet twice a day. Is this the right medication? I read an article about Clodazam (main ingredient for Urbanol) which doesn't sound all that good. ## Have you discussed your concerns with your doctor? Urbanol does contain Clobazam, which is a Benzodiazepine derivative, they are most commonly used to treat anxiety, but they can be habit forming. They may also cause side effects, such as nausea, headache, dizziness and irritability. Learn more: ## I know this is wrong... but my friend used it and he once gave me one cause I was crying the whole day. (My grandfather died) and it helped. Not sure how, but now whenever I feel upset I just drink one, sometimes two. Is this bad?? ## Urbanol with Nootropics ?...
I have been prescribed Neurontin and would like to know how long does it take to come out of your system? It is causing too many problems for me. Can you stop suddenly or do you have to ween your self from them?? ## Hi, Sweet Pea! Sorry about the problems that it's causing you. What types of symptoms have you been experiencing? How long have you been taking it? If you've been on it for awhile, at a high dose, suddenly stopping it could cause a risk of seizures, since it's an anticonvulsant. It is generally best to taper off of these types of medications. Have you discussed it with your doctor? ## I'm not on gabapentin anymore. I took one 300 mg 3 months ago that my Dr told me to take for my nerve pain and m.s. But I took a drug panel on July 15th. And today is August 1st...

I'm going to be going back on Topamax after coming off it due to gastrointestinal issues. It is the only thing that keeps me from getting migraines and there is no pain involved with the stomach problems. However, the side effect is unpleasant. Basically I have liquid bowels when I use it. Even after taking it over 6 months. Will that go away or is there a way I can counteract that? ## What have you already tried to remedy that side effect? What does your normal diet consist of? The FDA warns that you should not follow any high fat, low carb diet while taking this medication. Its other typical side effects may include nausea, dizziness, nervousness, headaches, and unusual bruising. Ref: Topamax Information Does you doctor have any ideas to help with prevention of the diarrhea?
I took a Topiramate 50mg for a migraine and i have a drug test for probation on friday. Will it show up? I dont use any other drugs. ## Hi sean, Although I don't think any probation test would cover this specific drug, Topiramate is generally excreted from the body within 4-5 days, in part, due to it's long 21 hour half-life. The example shown below, puts the half-life into better perspective: Monday - 50mg Tuesday - 25mg Wednesday - 12.5mg Thursday - 6.25mg Friday - 3.12mg Saturday - 1.56mg I'd say by Friday you should have 95% of it or more out of your system; especially if you're drinking plenty of fluids and eating clean. I hope this helps! ## I take Topamax too. After testing positive for a synethnic form of THC and I know I am clean. I starting researching about To...
Thought there would be some instructions and side effect information in the bag when I picked up my prescription, but don't have any info. Can you help? ## Hi Dean, The Gaba stands for Gabapentin and the Lido stands for Lidocaine. I'm not entirely certain of the other abbreviation, but do have my suspicions that it stands for Amitriptyline. Both Amitriptyline and Gabapentin are known for coming in pill form and I have also heard of Gabapentin being mixed in these types of creams by compounding pharmacies. However, I have not been able to verify the same when it comes to Amitriptyline. I just don't see any other medication name with this prefix. Aside from the prefix, the other thing that leads me to believe that Amit stands for Amitriptyline is that NIH lists it as being mar...
I am having shivering problem and doctor advised me to use Levipil 500mg. I am taking it once in a day in afternoon. Can I please know on which part of the body does it work? ## Levipil contains the active ingredient Levetiracetam, which is an anticonvulsant, used to treat seizures, this means it acts on the brain. Common side effects may include: nausea, drowsiness, hair loss and anxiety. Learn more: Are there any other questions or comments? ## i am 16 years old. and i used to faint once or twice everyday for the past 2 weeks. after going to the doctor they asked me to take an EEG, MRI , CT scan etc... all the reports were normal and the doctor said i have seizures. he prescribes LEVIPIL 500 every night after dinner. after one dosage, the next night i started shaking tremdously, i cou...
These pills are white, oblong and are scored like gabapentin are. On one side they have a S G and on the other is a 1 78. Are these gabapentin / neurontin? ## Hello, Gabby! How are you? Yes, this tablet is manufactured by ScieGen Pharmaceuticals and they list it as containing 800mgs of Gabapentin (NDC 50228-0178). The FDA lists its typical side effects as possibly including nausea, dizziness, headache, mood swings, dry mouth, and weight gain. However, there are many oval, white tablets that are scored, so please don't assume that they all contain Gabapentin. Inactive Ingredients: - Poloxamer 407 - Mannitol - Magnesium Stearate - Hydroxypropyl Cellulose (Type H) - Talc - Copovidone K25-31 - Crospovidone - Silicon Dioxide - Hypromelloses - Titanium Dioxide - Polyethylene Glycol ## Are...
