Thanks ## Purbac is an antibiotic, it contains Sulfamethoxazole, and Trimethoprim, it is most commonly used to treat bacterial infections. The NIH lists its typical side effects as possibly including nausea, dizziness, non-allergic skin rash, diarrhea, and headache. Weight gain is not a normal side effect. How are you feeling, now? Am suffering from cold and low grade fever since few monthes..just i took calpol 500 mg.bt am not getting the relief from ma disese..so,pld suggest any antibiotics ## Antibiotics are not effective on colds as they are caused by a virus. It would do nothing but increase the chance of whatever antibiotic you take to not work the next time you really need them ## Petty is correct. If it is just a cold, an antibiotic will not help and taking one just increases your chance of developing antibiotic resistance. The NIH lists their typical side effects as possibly including nausea, dizziness, headache, diarrhea, and non-allergic skin rash. hello sir! i just want to know that norflox tz and oflox oz and zenflox oz are the above are same? can we use any of them during diarrehoea, loose motion with pain ## No, they are not all the same, since Norflox TZ contains Norfloxacin and Tinidazole, while the other two medications contain Ofloxacin with Ornidazole, but they are used to treat the same conditions, such as infections, and protozoal infections. The problem is that they can cause diarrhea, and stomach pain, as side effects, according to NIH reports, so you shouldn't take them, unless a doctor has told you to do so. Other side effects may include nausea, dizziness, and headache. Are you on any other medications? Has anything changed in your diet, recently?
I just finished taking penicillin vk 500mg and it was not working. I have some azithromycin 200mg. Is it ok to take this a day after stopping penicillin? ## Hi Ashley, I guess I can only speak for myself if I were in this type of predicament, but I would probably opt to take the azithromycin without worry if the penicillin wasn't working for me. I think that by waiting a day in between switching antibiotics, it should (in my opinion) be no different than continuing with the treatment regimen -of course, still following the prescribed dosing guidelines thereafter. However, I would also look into taking a probiotic immediately after finishing the course of antibiotics to help replenish good bacteria in the body. This is all theoretical based on what I would do for myself. If in doubt,...

I have been on Nitrofurantoin 100 mg every other day for many years. I have a history of a staghorn calculus and multiple urinary tract infections. I have not had any infections in the past 2 years. I am having difficulty refilling the medication now that my Endo Dr will no longer fill it, my urologist retired and my PCP never ordered it. My urologist wanted me on it permanently to prevent issues. So is stopping it a good idea? Should I just wait and if I get new symptoms then go to my PCP for new treatment and possibly restart? ## I can't say whether it is a good idea, since I am not a doctor, but it really sounds like you do need to be a long-term preventative. Why will your endo no longer prescribe it for you? The FDA lists its typical side effects as possibly including nausea, d...
i would like to know what it looks like a cap ## A friend gave me some medicine, she said it was amoxicillin 500 mg. the capsule is red and white. It has no imprint on it. There are no numbers at all. she is a nurse should I take them or call the pharmacy ## I would bring it to a licensed pharmacist and see if they are able to identify it. I have seen two manufacturers of amoxicillin 500mg. One of them is an elongated orange capsule. The other, also elongated in an identical shape, is pink and red. ## All manufactured U.S. prescription medications, be they capsules, or tablets, are required by law to have unique imprints on them to enable their identification, in case of emergency. Thus, something is not marked, is most likely an over the counter product, though there is also a small ch...
