I am a chronic patient of diahhrea. Generally whenever needed, I take some antibiotic and get better. But this time right now, my doctor prescribed Metrogyl 500 for ten days. However, after taking metrogyl for one day, my stools became looser. I am at a lose to know what I should do now.

Most antibiotics can cause diarrhea as a side effect, according to FDA reports. You may also experience nausea, dizziness, non-allergic skin rash, and diarrhea.

Has your doctor given you any reason why you get diarrhea so often? Is it a medical condition? Some other medication you care taking? Or something in your diet?

How long has this been going on? Has you consulted a gastroenterologist?
