i have a ppd allergy and cannot take sulphur based medicine, i was on a course of amoxycillin which made my face swell as they use sunset yellow which is a sulphur based dye in the capsule, i went back the docs and she gace me flucloxacillin which are in a red and grey capsule, they too have coulourings in them, i need to know if any of the ingredients are sulphur based, can u please help as im afraid to take them ## Can you post back with the markings on them? Hi. I was given a prescription for cephalexin 500mg for 3x a day after having two teeth extracted. The second day of the dose my throat felt tight and also as if there was a lump or something stuck in my throat as well as a difficulty swallowing food. I stopped taking the cephalexin and the next day the feeling went away. My dentist prescribed me amoxicillin 500mg instead. My questions are, were my symptoms with the cephalexin a type of anaphylactic shock and could I be allergic to cephalexin? My second question is, is amoxicillin similar to cephalexin and could it cause a similar reaction? Everything that I'm reading about Smz/Tmp 800 is freaking me out! Now I don't think that I want to take it! Anyway I was wondering if it will work on an abscess? I am on 26 mg of Methadone and I take 600mg of Mucinex every 12hrs., but I got a prescription for Doxycycline 100mg 2 times a day for 7 days. Can I take them all together? ## According to the University of Maryland Medical Center (umm.edu / drug interaction tool), there are no interactions listed between Methadone, Mucinex and Doxycycline. I have Nitrofurantoin that expired in 2015 - Can I still take them? I suffered from UTI's on a regular basis at that time and have not had it again until now. ## This medication does not become dangerous, once expired, but it can lose efficacy. started taking Bactrim over a week ago due to an acute kidney infection. Began to experience dizziness a day ago, pain behind the ears started on the left side with a bump and then felt pain on the right side the next morning. Body aches as well. Today I woke up with a rash all over my body that itches and almost has like a burning sensation. Can I take Benadryl with Bactrim to help with the rash? ## Yes, you can experience an allergic reaction that late into a course of it. I had it happen to me 9 and a half days in, I had one dose left, but had to see my doctor and stop taking it. The sad thing is that when i got those bumps, which in my case were swollen glands, I went to the ER and the doctor there did not recognize it as an allergic reaction, so I kept taking it for a few more days...

My Dr gave me Sulfamethoxazole DS by accident when I am 6 weeks pregnant. What has it done to my Baby girl?
