I had a gum infection - within two pills the pain was gone and I have this bottle full.. I now have a temperature with which I believe is due to a chest infection. Will this medication help? ## Amoxicillin is an antibiotic, which can be used to treat many different type of infections. However, you should finish the full course of the medication, as prescribed, even if you start to feel better, before you have finished. The pain may have went away, but that doesn't necessarily mean that the infection cleared up. Thus, you could be sick now, because it was never fully treated and has now spread to other parts of your body. In addition, only taking part of the prescription for an antibiotic creates the very real risk of developing an...

I keep having a racing heart and I only took 25 mg of macrodantin and knew I was in trouble pretty quickly. The ER who was not interested in macrodantin did the usual tests and said I could go home. So, when will this leave? I had hives before a long time ago but never the racing heart and of course, my doctor is unavailable or I would have gone to them instead of the Urgent Care and the ER who didn't give me any instructions on what to do about the Macrobid - how long before it leaves? I know everyone is different. I must take the cake. I'd rather take erthromycin for a really long time which is somewhat resistant but it's better than a racing heart and is useful for keeping my strength up while I work on strengthening my immune system and/or non antibiotics to treat utis. ...

I have a rash all over my body after a 10-day course of nitrofurantoin mono macro. The rash started the day after I finished the antibiotic. How long can I expect it to last as the itching is driving me crazy!! ## Hello, Sharon! How are you doing? If it's an itchy rash, then that's most likely from an allergic reaction, the rash that antibiotics can cause as a side effect is specifically called a non-allergic rash, because it just causes a topical skin rash, with no itching or hives. Learn more Nitrofurantoin details here. Have you consulted your doctor? An allergic rash may require proper medical treatment and you will most likely not be able to take this antibiotic again, in the future. ## I'm 28 yrs old and was prescribed macrobid 100mg for a bad bladder infection yesterd...

There are 6 tablets in the bottle. How many do you take? There no instructions. ## Hi Jet, From what I could gather, "Azitromicina" or "Azithromycin" is the active ingredient in this drug. The dosage information I found for Azithromycin states that (500 mg) should be taken orally on the first day followed by (250 mg) orally once a day on days 2 through 5 (which adds up to 6 pills in total). Please post back if you have any more questions, I hope this helps! ## Thank you for this information, I needed it as well. ## Can I use Zertalin for a tooth infection? I took my first and only pill of Augmentin 875 after dinner last night. I got dizzy shortly thereafter. The dizziness subsided after roughly 6 hours, only to be replaced with anxiety, restlessness, and twitching in my legs. My OCD is flaring. It's 2:30 AM, about 8 1/2 hours since I took the pill. How much longer will these symptoms last??? I can't even quiet my mind or settle my legs long enough to attempt sleep! Rhita ## Hello, Rhita! How are you doing? That is very unusual, especially after taking just one tablet. I think the best thing to do would be to contact your doctor about taking a different antibiotic, this one obviously doesn't agree with you. The normal side effects should be things like nausea, dizziness, non-allergic skin rash and diarrhea. Is there anything el...

how long do the side effects of the esokit last in the body, cause i have had this rash on my face for a month now and it's getting worse. ## Have you consulted a doctor? From what I can find, this kit contains antibiotics that are used to help eradicate the H. Pylori bacteria and they can cause a non-allergic skin rash as side effects, but it really shouldn't last that long, after you have finished treatment with it. ## What sort of condition does Eso kit treat? Antibiotics are hard on the stomach, you may need to call your dr. you may be allergic to them. ## @Thabanie, "Just want to help" may be correct, you could be allergic to Eryko 250. Those side effects are very common so you may just need to ask your doctor for another antibiotic. If you're experiencing any nausea, I've read tha...
Had an ear infection for many years now, (6 years)which flares up every now and then. Go to the Doctors and get antibiotics, drops etc but it still comes BACK! Latest round of tablets now all gone, (Ciprofloxacin tablets prescribed this time) But can feel the pain coming back. Beside myself, enough is enough what can I do now??? ## Have you consulted an ear, nose and throat specialist? In such cases, it usually isn't the same infection ongoing, but something that is making your prone to get infections on a regular basis. This can sometimes happen to people who have a shape abnormality in their ear canals, or something wrong with their sinuses. Only a proper exam and testing is going to help you get to the root of the problem and find a solution. ## If it is a persistent MIDDLE ear i...
I have a 25-28 lb. Pug. She has an ear infection, and I have no money for the vet. I do have some Bactrim that I had a reaction to, and I am wondering if I can cut it in half to give her? I know we used to use Bactrim ?TMP when I worked in an animal shelter, but that was over 20 years ago, and I don't remember the dosages. Thank you. ## Hi Sherry, Based on my research, the usual initial dose of Bactrim for dogs is listed at 13 milligrams per pound, to be taken twice daily (12 hours apart). So for a 28lb dog, that would bring each dose to 364 milligrams (13 x 28 =364), amounting to a total daily dose of 728 milligrams (364 x 2 =728). However, just to be on the safe side it would probably still be a good idea to also contact your local veterinary office with a simple inquiry regarding...
I started taking turmeric (curcumin) for inflammation and I'm allergic to penicillin. Can I take the turmeric (curcumin)? ## They are not related, but it is always best to be cautious when you start taking anything new, especially over the counter supplements, since they are not usually tested for interactions, or contraindications with most prescription medications, and various health conditions. You should also be aware that Turmeric is not FDA approved to treat any condition, nor have any studies proven it effective. The best I can tell you is that it tastes great, when I cook with it, although it does have a habit of staining some plasticware, such as my steamer baskets. LOL It also makes a great substitute with other spices, if you can't afford Saffron, or just don't wa...

I am being treated for a uti, takng macrobid 100mg, but I'm also experiencing pain in my legs for which I would take a naproxen 500mg. ## I didn't find any problems, or interactions listed between them, but it is always best to double check to be sure. The FDA lists the typical side effects of this antibiotic as possibly including nausea, dizziness, diarrhea, non-allergic skin rash, and diarrhea. Are you on any other medications? ## I was taking this too and had similar pain. My doctor told me to stop taking it and prescribed a different antibiotic. Four days later, I am still experiencing the pain in my feet and legs. They added it to my (short) list of allergies to medications.

I was recently prescribed Minocycline for some cystic acne, I ended up in the ER with a severe allergic reaction that required more than 1 injection of epinephrine. I'm aware that I have a sulfa allergy but has anyone ever heard of Minocycline causing an allergic reaction for those who have sulfa allergies? Is Minocycline safe to take if you have a sulfa allergy? I need serious responses only please! ## These allergies may not necessarily be related, according to NIH reports, those who are allergic to one medication, or substance, often find others that they are also allergic to, and must avoid in the future. What type of allergic symptoms did you experience? I am assuming they must have been severe, if they resorted to epinephrine, instead of just Benadryl/Diphenhydramine. We were ...
