I am 38 yrs male and I am an ibs patient, it is more than 12 years old. I am always feeling discomfort due to more mucus in my stool. I am taking ofloxacin ornidazole tablets daily. I am taking clindamycin 300 milligram and my jaw is excruciating pain can I up the dosage just started it at 3 o'clock because the swelling and pain relieving I don't care I just want this pain to subside and the swelling to go down is it okay if I up my dosage ## Some antibiotics the doctors say double up on the first 2 or 3 doses but Not clindamycin. I just found a bunch of these pills in my sisters backpack. I'm pretty sure she doesn't have a bacterial infection. She has had trouble with alcohol and drugs before so I just want to make sure if its something serious or not for I can consult it with my parents. ## These tablets are just antibiotics, they contain 500mgs of Amoxicillin, so isn't something she could be using to get high or anything. My dentist gave me 5 days of amoxicillin they didnt work i went to a & e and the doctor gave me pencilin. Is it ok to swap my antibaotics over. I was prescribed sulfamethoxazole tmp ds for a sinus infection and was to take it for 14 days. On my 9th day I woke up at 6 am having terrible muscle soreness and pain for no explainable reason. I couldn't lift my right arm without my bicep and forearm being in awful pain. As the day went on I still experienced pain but it seemed to diminish some. The next morning I woke at the same time and in worse pain. It was excruciating just to move. I tried reaching my doctor but decided to just stop taking the antibiotics. I only had 3 more days. The following day the pain was dull and almost non-exsistant. I had never had such a reaction in my life but I guess it's safe to say I'm allergic to this medication and will never forget it. ## That's actually not an allergic reaction, ...

Does anyone know if it is okay to empty the medicine out of a 500 mg capsule and take it alone in a spoon? My husband cannot swallow capsules and he failed to ask the pharmacist for a liquid form of the medication. ## I too have trouble swallowing any pills--I just put them in a teaspoon of applesauce and they go right down ! ## That is okay to do, as long as it is not a time released medication, and there are not other warnings telling you that you shouldn't do so.
