I was prescribed this 4 days ago for a horrible ear infection brought on by a sinus infection, and no relief. I am wondering if it's not bacterial and maybe should be prescribed something different to relieve the pressure and pain? ## Amoxicillin with Clavulanic Acid, the active ingredients in Augmentin, is an antibiotic that is used to treat certain types of infections. However, it can take 5 to 7 days to reach its full effect and will not work as a pain reliever. And, as with any medication, it doesn't always work for everyone that tries it, so if your pain, or infection have not improved, you should contact your doctor. Are there any other questions or comments?

Interaction with IC Sucralfate 1 GM and what foods to avoid. i will be taking theses pills for 14 days ,just want to know is it safe, if u are 16 weeks pregnancy, my emercency room doctor prescribe this medicine. ## Have you discussed it with your regular doctor, or OBGyn? Nitrofurantoin is an antibiotic that is used to treat various types of infections, such as UTIs, but it is not known to cause problems during pregnancy and, in reality, it would be much more risk to your baby to let an infection continue out of control. It may, however, cause some side effects, such as nausea, dizziness, non-allergic skin rash and diarrhea. Learn more:

i have bad cramps also taken flucillin ## What types of cramps are you having? Stomach, abdominal, general muscle? The reasoning for them can vary, depending on what type you are experiencing. Calvepen contains Phenoxymethylpenicillin and Flucillin contains Flucloxacillin, both of which are antibiotics. If you are experiencing abdominal cramping, it may be caused by these medications, because they are known to cause some gastric side effects, including diarrhea. If it is just general muscle cramping, especially in the legs and feet, it may be due to the fact that most antibiotics, if taken for a long period of time, can deplete your potassium levels. Have you consulted your doctor?

What does this pill look like ## What does Doxyxyclin HYC tab 100mg look like...should it be a salmon color with a MP 37 on it ## no it should be an oblong blue ## Well first off, let me put an end to the argument by stating that once a drug is available for generic production, it can look like whatever the company making it wants it too look like. Yes, Kelly could have had an oblong blue, but that is not the only 100mg Doxycycline available. In the pharmaceutical industry, there are no guidelines as to color or how a pill has to look, it just doesn't matter. So just because it may have the same active ingredients, it does not have to look the same, you may go into one pharmacy and receive a large orange pill and at a different pharmacy across town get an oblong blue one. The only r...

My mother in law is 93, she has an infection and was give cephalexin. Will this be harmful because she is on heart medicine and high blood pressure pills ## Because I am not a doctor, I can only offer my research-based opinion to you. Every medication effects each individual differently, so determining if prescribed medication is going to be harmful or not can only be tested from trial and error. Many doctors prescribe a certain medication to patients based on their medical records, health, and determining whether or not the medication the patient is currently on will conflict with what they choose to prescribe; as well as various other methods used to make this informed decision.
