I am allergic to Sulfa and I was perscribed Sulfameth/TMP DS for a kidney infection. ## I'd suggest contacting your doctor for an alternative medication. As is designated by the Sulfamethoxazole in this antibiotic, it is Sulfonamide based and has been known to cause reactions in patients with Sulfa allergies, so it is listed as being contraindicated for such people. As part of flu, I had congetion with flum accumulation. Tried a course of mild antibiotics 250 mg but still traces of flum used to come out with cough.
