my dr prescribed this med for a infection. The Dr. or the pharmacy neglected to tell me that you are not supposed to take antacids with this med. When I got Home I read the paperwork and the warning was also on the bottle. I have to take antacids 2x a day for my GURD. I stopped taking the antacids. What would happen if I had take my regular doses of antacids. ## If you take it with regular antacids, such as the calcium based ones like Tums, it can cause less of the medication to be absorbed, so it isn't as effective. With Ciprofloxacin, you should make sure to take these types of antacids 6 hours away from the antibiotic. I have pink eye will this medicine Sulfameth/tmp DS tab help it? ## From what information I could gather, most of the cases of pink eye are viral rather than bacterial. In this instance, topical (eye drops) would be a better choice to oral medications in my opinion. If however your pink eye is bacterial, then Sulfameth/tmp DS will work to treat the symptoms. You'd generally have to see your doctor though to test if it is caused by bacteria or not and make your decision based on his or her findings. I'm taking this Doxycycl Hyc 100 Mg for a staff infection on my finger. Every time i take it I get terrible cramps in my stomache and I have the diarrhea. I'm eating before i take it and it cleared my finger up completely. What can i do for the pain. ## Have you consulted your doctor? These types of symptoms can be normal side effects, but if they are severe, you really need to talk to your doctor about them. This just may not be the right antibiotic for you to take.

I have suspicions that I am pregnant and have even taking this medicine twice a day orally for acne for a couple weeks. I tested myself last night and it said I was not pregnant. I was wondering if this medicine can give false negative results? And how likely it is? ## I'm not aware of anything showing that this antibiotic is known to cause false results on a pregnancy test. Update--my doctor prescribed azithromycin for my dental exam this month. Everything was fine and happy that I don't have to take amoxycillin since it made me sick. ## Glad your doctor prescribed something that worked better for you. There are actually some findings that show it isn't always necessary to take an antibiotic before a dental procedure, for some conditions. Are there any questions or comments?

I have been on this for 9 days so far, total of 14 days needed, for a bad sinus infection. Today I wake up with a sore jaw, at the hinge right below my ear. Ive never had jaw problems. I do have an spot with my Dr tonight, I ass prescribed the amid clavicle by an urgent care Dr. Is it possible that this is a "side effect" or has anything to do with it. Not my first time on this ir other antibiotics. The only thing that I added was mast night I stared a 7 day Otc yeast infection treatment. Thank you antibiotics. I'm also taking acidophilus. ## What did your doctor say? It would be very unusual for the antibiotic to cause that as a side effect, but it is always difficult to say how any certain medication will affect any given person that uses it.

I took this medication and it cause a reaction of hives to my skin. And now its very irratating all over my body, what should I take now. Benadryl or cortizone is not helping. ## Have you talked to your doctor? A non-allergic skin rash can be a common side effect of antibiotics and that probably explains why it isn't responding to the other medications. You may just need to try a different antibiotic and give this one time to get out of your system.
