My doctor told me i have a staph infection from an ingrown hair by my rectum and it made my lymph node swell and have sore muscles and joints. can i take keflex 500mg more. Was told to take it 3 times a day. can i take it 4 or 5 times a day if the muscles and joint soreness worsens? ## Hello, Mike! How are you? No, with any given antibiotic, there is only so much that your body will absorb and use, so taking more is pointless. If your condition worsens, you'll need to return to your doctor to see what your next treatment option might be. Is there anything else I can help with?

I've been taking Percocet 10s for a few months now, never more than 4 a day, and have recently been prescribed amoxicillin/clavulin 500/125mg. I'm wondering if there are any harmful interactions between the two? I've stopped the Percocet for a little over 24hrs and am now noticing a slight pain in the upper right side of my stomach. ## Hello, Jaye! How are you? I didn't find any interactions or problems listed between these two medications, but you should always double check with your doctor or pharmacist to be sure. However, there are often prescribed together, so that the Percocet can relieve pain, until the antibiotic has time to do its work. Is there anything else I can help with?

This is an antibiotic used to treat various types of infections. Amongst the possible side-effects of this medication are diarrhea, vomiting, nausea, thrush, and a few other conditions. These do not usually require medical attention. However, if the patient experiences an allergic reaction to the medication (which in many cases can show up as a rash), jaundice, fever, or severe diarrhea, it is necessary to contact a doctor immediately. From my perspective, it becomes obvious to me that this rash is the res...

Started taking this on Friday at 8 pm. Woke up on Saturday with a horrible headache and red eyes. Took it again Saturday at 8am and again at 8pm. Woke up Sunday without headache although it still hurts when I cough. Still took meds at 8am. Is this normal or should I discontinue? ## I also have a slight fever. ## This is a sulfa antibiotic, so I am really not sure if anything is abnormal or unexpected. To be completely honest, what you're experiencing doesn't sound dangerous and may not be sufficient reason to stop taking it, but this is a very nasty antibiotic that I wouldn't recommend to anyone. I really think it should be reserved as a last resort, when other options haven't worked. Learn more SMZ/TMP details here. The final decision on whether or not you continue taki...
Hi my wife has severe tooth ache and went to see the doctor. He gave her antibiotic due to the absess the tooth made but said she can only use panado for her tooth and she is pregnant. Panado does not help what else can she take? ## Be sure the antibiotics aren't Tetracycline. It can turn the babies teeth yellow when their teeth come in. She may need to see a dentist. It is difficult to treat someone when they're pregnant because there are two patients instead of one. The Panado may work better after she has had several doses of the antibiotic.
hi i went to the clinic yesterday with a problem of having a discharge than the nurse gave me doxytet only to find when i got home that the pills expired in July 2013 i only took two pills will i any side effects in my body? ## Sorry to hear about your experience with getting older medication. With most types of drugs, the only thing you'd have to be concerned about it is if it lost any potency. However, when it comes to specific types of antibiotics (namely those associated with tetracycline, such as Doxytet/Doxytetracycline), it can become toxic after the expiration date. I honestly wouldn't recommend taking any and if possible go and try to get your money back from the clinic. It's a good thing you checked first before taking the full prescription, because you never know ...

I just need to know do you have to take the Amoxicillin before getting your tooth pulled ## Hello, Synethia! How are you? Why are you afraid of it, it's just an antibiotic? And it depends on your health, there are some medical conditions that require you to take it, before dental work, to prevent possible infection. And if the tooth is already infected and hurting, you my need to take it for a few days, because if you don't, then they will not be able to properly numb the area to extract the tooth. I've had that happen and I can assure you that it is pain you don't want to feel.

You really need a medical professional to make sure that it's strep and then to prescribe the proper antibiotic, if it is, because if it isn't actually an infection, or the proper amount of an antibiotic isn't used you run the risk of them developing antibiotic resistance bacteria.
