For treating a UTI, or any other infection, it is very important to see your doctor for a proper diagnosis and prescription, since if an infection is present, you have to make sure that you have enough of the antibiotic to finish a full course of treatment and fully eradicate the bacteria.

And no, this is usually not the preferred antibiotic.
