I took 3 500mg. ciprofloxacinall a once. what can happen to me??? ## Hello, Dot! How are you? Did you experience any adverse effects? This is an antibiotic, so that really wouldn't be an overdose, so to speak, unless you are allergic to it or have some severe medical problem that it is contraindicated with. Otherwise, you'd likely just experience a worsening of the side effects and have more nausea and diarrhea than usual. Did you consult your doctor? You should double check this information with them, to be safe.

I began taking Amox-Clav 875MG tablets yesterday. I have taken 2 pills and have been experiencing stomach cramps through out the day. Some cramps are more severe than others..have to stop and wait for the pain to subside before continuing whatever I am doing. Will this go away or continue through out the course of the medication? I am prescribed 1 tablet every 12 hours for 10 days. Thank you! ## Hello, Susan! How are you? I'm very sorry about the problem that you're having. That can be a side effect of most antibiotics, but if it's very severe, you should consult your doctor, you may be better off trying a different one. Other side effects can include nausea, non-allergic skin rash and diarrhea. Is there anything else I can help with?

Is 150mg Clindamycin still good from 2009. I desperately need an antibiotic to take tonight. Thank you, ## Hello, Terri! How are you? How do you know that you have an infection and desperately need an antibiotic? And no, one that old will have lost most of its efficacy and taking it could result in your developing antibiotic resistant bacteria. It would be best to just dispose of it and see your doctor for a new prescription, if they confirm that you have an infection.

APO-Ciprofloxin -- is there an expiry date on this medication? ## Hello, Diane! How are you? Are they tablets? If so, then the expiration should be one year from when they were dispensed to you by your pharmacy, after that they will begin to lost efficacy. Side effects may include nausea, dizziness, non-allergic skin rash and diarrhea.

I was given Bactrim 400mg but with no directions! How often should I take this? ## Hello, Izzy! How are you? What type of infection is being treated? The dosage can vary, depending on that detail. Can you please post back and let me know? Thanks!

My father has a chest infection of an undiagnosed sort. The doctor prescribed a 5-day antibiotic (large white, long tablet) which I cannot recall the name of and need to -- in order to describe to the 'new' doc what my dad has taken for the problem (which has yet to cease). I do know that when I read the pamphlet, "anthrax" was listed, along with sinusitis, bronchitis, etc. for reasons the antibiotic is given. Any chance you can give me an idea of what the antibiotic might be? I'm quite sure it began with the letter "L"... Lexo... or something like that. ## Hello, Lisa! How are you? Was it possibly Levofloxacin? That's one that meets all the criteria that you've described. Can you please post back and let me know? Thanks!

I had cold with bad cough and I took antibiotic Augmentin 650 mg for 5 days. However, dry cough is still persisting and irrtating even not able to sleep. ## Since it is an antibiotic, it is only effective for treating infections and a cold is caused by a virus, so antibiotics do not help. Have you consulted a doctor? ## I'm 30 yrs suffering from cold and dry cough from last 1 week. I had Alerid D,thrice a dy from last 2 days but seems no resuult. Pl let me know what medicine is to be taken... ## sir , i am a chronic cough patient from 6 month , i have taken many antibiotics and antiallergenic drug ! but aftr 3 days the cough become alergic again !! My son has been a methodone for program for 5 months. He is disabled and his only means of income is $1,100 a month on SSD. He has to pay $35 a week to get his methodone. They ask him anywhere from 2 to 3 times a week for a U.A which they charged him $20 per diagnosis. This is from $40 to $60 a week that he does not have. If they do not get their money they refuse to give him his medicine. I am a senior citizen and cannot afford an extra $40 or $60 a week to give him. They hold him for ransom if he does not have the money. He tells them he will give it to them when he gets his check on the 3rd Wednesday of each month but they say no. If this fair?? ## Hello, Npet! How are you? I'm very sorry about the problem that your son is having. Is it necessarily fair? No! But is it legal, so t...

I'm sure that I have walking pneumonia and I have some pentrexyl at home. I've been sick for quite a while and thought it was copd, but today I got a runny nose and I'm pretty sick...no energy, chills, wheezing, etc. I've been reading about this and it says that antibiotics cure it and I was wondering if this particular one would help. I also have cephalexin on hand. Please help...I don't have the money for a dr. and whatever this is that I have is horrible. I can't do anything. ## You really should see a doctor, even if you go to the ER, because not all forms of it are due to a bacterial infection that will respond to antibiotics. You can learn more about it here: Neither that you mentioned is the first choice for the infectious form, but Cephalexin is in the cl...

I am taking penicillin for strep throat, but i find it very difficult to take one pill 4x a day considering all the time I must wait before and after I eat to take them (It just doesn't quite match up with my schedule and I do not want to mess it up). Can I take 2 pills 2x a day? ## Hello, Streppy! How are you? No, you need to take them as instructed by your doctor. The reason they are spaced out that way is to keep the medication in your body at a constant level to prevent the bacteria from being able to start to grow and proliferate, again. Side effects may include nausea, dizziness, non-allergic skin rash and diarrhea. Is there anything else I can help with?

regarding mrsa infections. I got first got mrsa while in a nursing home. Then I got C-diff., three times now. Then a Staph infection on my face, neck, etc. Now I have it in my eyes. Very hard to treat, I may not get rid of this one. mrsa , etc. is here to stay. Especially if you have an auto immune disease, such as Lupus. Stay home! ## Hello, Lona! How are you doing? I'm very sorry about the problem that you're having. How are they trying to treat it, now? Have they tried high doses of IV antibiotics?

I am finishing eight days of nitrofuran 100 mgm twice daily for a UTI. Experiencing some bladder irritation and frequency. Could this be from the drug retained in the urine? Thanks! ## Hello, Tom! How are you? No, it shouldn't cause those types of symptoms, but it may not have been the proper medication to eradicate the infection you had. Just because it treats most such infections doesn't mean it will always treat all of them. The general rule with antibiotics is that if the are working, you shouldn't see any worsening after taking it for a full 24 hours and then you should start to see improvement within 3 days. Have you consulted your doctor, yet? You may need to try a different antibiotic.

the bottle states disguard after 01/04/14...that is 1 month 1 day past. is it still safe to take? Every winter i seem to get sinus infections which is what this was used for, we are being hit hard with a snow storm and i cant get out to the dr. ## Hello, Colleen! How are you? It doesn't get dangerous once past the expiration date, but it does begin to lose effectiveness, which could lead to the development of antibiotic resistant bacteria. Have you tried calling your doctor? It would be best to do that, just to make sure it's safe for you to take it. Side effects may include nausea, dizziness, non-allergic skin rash and diarrhea.

can i take cleocin if am allergic to biaxin pencillin and sulfa drugs? ## Hello, T! How are you? The Cleocin is in a different class, it's a lincosamide antibiotic, so in theory it should be okay. However, there is no way of knowing if you will or will not be allergic to it, too. You should also double check with your doctor and pharmacist, before taking it, to be extra cautious. Is there anything else I can help with?

I've been on Tera doxycycline hyclate for 30 days and it's causing ringing in my ears and severe dry mouth. I want to stop taking it, how long till it's out of my system? I can't take antihistamines as I have high Bp as well ## Hi there. I'm now taking the antibiotic Avelox. I have tried a few others and they never seemed to work. I have bronchitis. I took my first pill today and seemed to have a slight allergic reaction to it. However, it only lasted about an hour. What I was wondering will the medication still serve its purpose if I'm slightly allergic to it? And will the reactions get worse as I keep taking it? Thank you

How much damage will I recieve by mixing alcohol and nitrofuran monohyd macro ## Hello, Lisa! How are you? It will usually worsen the side effects of the medication, making you experience more dizziness, drowsiness and nausea than usual, so think of each drink being equivalent to 2 or 2 and half drinks. Additionally, both the medication and alcohol can be taxing on your liver and may cause damage. Is there anything else I can help with?

I had an allergic reaction one day ago taking sulfamethoxazole and today I took one pill of loratadina ## Help, Alejo! How are you? I didn't find any interactions or problems listed between these two medications, but you should double check with your doctor or pharmacist to be certain. However, taking one the day after the other would rarely cause a problem, anyway! Is there anything else I can help with?

Does Clindamycin Solution get messed up if refrigerated then stored at room temperature afterwards. ## Hello, Wanda! How are you? Yes, the liquids tend to degraded much faster than other medication formulations, so you should most likely just dispose of it. Is there anything else I can help with?

Before use, however, you should see a doctor to make sure that your problem is being caused by an infection and not a virus or something else. I have an ear infection with a totally blocked ear. I also have some nitrofurantoin left over from a uti. Will this antibiotic help my ear infections ## Hello, Diana! How are you? You need to see your doctor to have the presence of an infection confirmed and, if you do have one, they'll need to prescribe you a full course of an appropriate antibiotic to treat it. And you should always finish the full course of any prescribed antibiotic, to avoid the risk of developing antibiotic resistant bacteria. Is there anything else I can help with?
