May i take it for a UTI? It expired 2014. ## Unless a specific bacteria is detected that can be treated by this medication, it is not usually the preferred on to treat a UTI. The one normally used most often is Nitrofurantoin, so it would be best to see your doctor and let them prescribe an appropriate antibiotic. First of all, if these are leftover antibiotics from treating another infection, you may not have enough to fully eradicate the infection. My wife was diagnosed with uri due to sinusitis. Why use such a heavy duty antibiotic? So many side effects. It's used on HIV patients and to treat certain STI's. I'm assuming she has neither. My gp prescribed Betamox and Cyclidox when I was at her last week. She said, however that I should try not drink it which I havent - and that I should try first drinking Septogard which I did - but this mornin when I woke up I feel yukky - should I start drinking the antibiotics?
