This is a lotion for one afflicted with epidermolysis bullosa simplex-kobner. The ingredients are 1/2%HC, 1/2%NEO. I would like to receive any information from a doctor regarding this lotion. Can it be gotten over-the-counter?

I am afflicted with epidermolysis bullosa simplex/kobner and yes, in my case a prescription must be obtained from a doctor. I was introduced to this Iowa City Lotion back in the mid-1960's by a new dermatologist that came to town. It's good stuff. It has never let me down!! Before I used this lotion, I was prescribed ointments. These ointments did not work for me. This modified lotion worked great for me and I couldn't live without it. I really need too add that this is an EXTERNAL application Lotion Only!! This lotion is in no way to be taken internally. This is probably why it is prescribed by a physician only!!! I hope this answer's some questions out there.
