My mom is 68 yrs old and she has constant pain in her joints for this she is taking paracetamol and aceclophenac combination for near about 6 month .is it ok to take it for lifelong or she has to better stop it as she doesn't feel good if she miss one tablet also ## Very sorry about the pain your mother is suffering from. Both the Aceclofenac and the Paracetamol can cause liver damage and/or failure and should be avoided by those with existing liver conditions. i felt light headed, my balance while walking slowing was affected causing me to sway a bit to left and right. I took 14 pills as directed by my doctor. 2 pills every day after eating some food. I was bound up, not having a bowel movement for 5 days. When I notice the effect that the pill was having on my body, I stopped taking the pill. I had used 14 pills in a prescription of 20. I am 43 and have been on high doses of prednisone for over 20 . At this time I am working with a new pulmolgist trying to get me off. I was recently put on a high dosage (50mg) of Prednisone a day. I was to stay on this dosage for three days, then cut it in half for three days, and then repeat until I was, by the fifteenth day, completely off the medication. Unfortunately, when my doctor prescribed me Prednisone, she momentarily forgot about psych history. On the fifth day of me taking Prednisone, I had a psychosis episode, and came to the realisation that my chaotic moods, and the sudden extreme bouts of depression and lack of concentration, had been a side effect of the medication. The pain did not come down, only increased. I think it was because antibiotic tabs were given to the patient along with ace clofenac and para centamol tablets. ## No, it isn't likely that the antibiotic caused the pain to increase, that's not how they work and generally after taking them for 3 days, she should start to see improvement. However, she may have still experienced some slight worsening of the infection, which could have caused increased pain. Another possibility is that it was due to the fact that both the Aceclofenac and the Paracetamol can cause some blood thinning, which could have increased blood flow to the area, this may have increased the sensitivity and swelling, so the pain increased.
