I have been on amox-clav for 7 days and a few days ago my tongue got sore is this normal. ## Hi Diane, Does your tongue also get a bit swollen as a result of the soreness? After taking a look at some of the side effects for this drug, I do believe it can cause your tongue to be sore: "Get emergency medical help if you have any of these signs of an allergic reaction while taking amoxicillin / clavulanate: hives; difficulty breathing; swelling of your face, lips, tongue, or throat." got aoxacillin 500 mg in japon 2011 Nov will they expire now in 2013 ## Hi Dee - there should be an expiration date on the original prescription container. Antibiotics such as Amoxicillin may last for up to 2 years when properly stored, but I would recommend getting a new prescription filled if you need to take them now. could this medication cause double vision? ## Hi Peg, Are you referring to Amoxicillin + Clavulanate Potassium? From what I could gather, double vision isn't a side effect of this combination. However, medications effect everyone differently so if you weren't experiencing the double vision prior to taking Amoxicillin + Clavulanate Potassium it's possible that it could be the culprit. Bad reaction to amoxicillin - Doc put wife on Bactrim? About day 6 of 10 day cycle she is experiencing chills, fever (102.5) no energy, achy, butter fly rash on cheeks. She is medically retired with Lupus.. Friends say go to hospital because fever is up and down... were waiting till Monday to see our physician. i recently went to the hospital for pnuemonia and was given amoxicillin 500mg ibuprofen600mg azithromycin250mg and ventolinhfa i .i take my medicine the way i was instructed to do so. i was late yesterday on taking it as i normally do daily so i took the amoxicillin 15 minutes before testing however the test came back positive for opiates. all my previous test have beengood please help me with this .

I have a cough, wheezing chest and congestion, I've been taking OTC cold and cough for 3 days with no luck curing this condition. I have some Amox/K Clav 500mg left over form an other infection...will this work on what I now have? ## Hi Mike, I'm sorry to hear that you aren't feeling well. Amox/ K Clav (Amoxicillin + Clavulanate Potassium) will only help if the cough you are experiencing is caused by an upper respiratory infection. You could take the medication, but if it doesn't work the cough probably just needs to run its course. Imprint...Luchem 663 Color...Red/black Capsule Need to know what it is... Amoxicillin? ## Hmmm, the closest thing I found (but it is a blue colored capsule) is Sandoz 663 which also happens to be an antibiotic. What I'm describing is Cefdinir 300mg (NDC 0781-2176). Inactive Ingredients: - Carboxymethylcellulose Calcium - Fd&c Blue No. 2 - Gelatin - Magnesium Stearate - Polyoxyl 40 Stearate - Silicon Dioxide - Titanium Dioxide While I'm not sure if what you have is just a Mexican version of the domestic antibiotic capsule, I'm hoping this extra information helps.

since i am allergic to pencilin, before i start a course of amoxicillin, i want to know is amoxicillin a pencilin. ## Yes it is a pencilin. ## They are in the same antibiotic family, most people that are allergic to Penicillin don't end up having a problem with Amoxicillin, but it's usually wisest not to risk and to just go with a different class of antibiotic. Hi everyone, I have some skin rashes on my private part when I see doctor she gave me curam 500mg + 125mg potassium she ask me to take it for 5 days 2 x a day. I've been using Amox Tr Clv 825-125 for my strep throat and ive been suffering from a very severe chronic headache side affect anybody got any advice for me ## From what I could gather, headaches are in-fact listed as a side effect of Amoxicillin + Clavulanate Potassium. If this medication just isn't agreeing with your body, my honest opinion would be to either go for a different antibiotic or try a natural alternative to help remedy the infection. For starters, natural raw honey can help sooth your throat of phlegm, mucous, and irritation from coughing. I believe raw honey also has potent antibacterial properties to aid in your treatment. Red Capsule has Ranbaxy printed on it, but package says AMX-500 and Amoxicillin Caosules IP ## Ranbaxy is actually just the name of the manufacturer, the name of the antibiotic medication is Amoxicillin. I am on 1000mg of amoxicillin twice a day for 20 days for a deep tissue skin infection at my knee. The infection has cleared up completely and it has been 4 days but I plan to continue take the antibiotics until they are gone. Is it safe to take P6 Extreme along with the antibiotics (amoxicillin 1000mg) ? ## In theory there shouldn't be a problem, since the P6 Extreme is a supplement that's claimed to help boost testosterone, but as such, it hasn't actually been tested for interactions with prescription medications. I started taking Amoxicillin a few days ago to treat strep throat, since then I have been experiencing hellish heartburn any time i try to eat or drink anything! I mean I can take a sip of water and it burns all the way down my throat and into my tummy. I know i cant just stop taking the meds because it is treating my infection, but is there anything i can do to help with the heartburn? ## I didn't find any problems listed between using it with any of the traditional heartburn remedies.
