Hi, what if my dog took a piece of a tablet that fell to the floor? Is it poison to dogs? Thanks ## Based on my research, drug companies do actually make Amoxicillin for both cats and dogs. So in my opinion your dog should probably be ok in the long run without any worries. However if your dog doesn't seem to be handling it well, I would still encourage you to bring the dog to your local vet and have it checked out. I hope this helps offer at least some relief knowing that Amoxicillin is often prescribed by vets. ## Thank you! ## I was seeking information on amox clav 875 mg tabs, as they related to ingestion by my dog. A big black lab, who got inquisitive and ate three tablets on a plate to be taken that night by myself. According to what I have found so far is that it is a light a...

This is supposed to be divided up into two or three doses and is generally prescribed for about 10 days. Every child may react differently though...so unfortunately I can't say for sure whether this dosing schedule is right for your son. That question seems like it'll be b...

The FDA lists the typical side effects as possibly including nausea, dizziness, headache, non-allergic skin rash, and diarrhea. So, the headaches are a normal occurrence. If I'm allergic to antibiotic - Amoxicillin, can I take the medicine - Aleve?? If I'm allergic to antibiotic - Amoxicillin, can I take the medicine - Aleve?? If I'm allergic to antibiotic - Amoxicillin, can I take the medicine - Aleve?? ## Aleve is classified as a nonsteroidal anti-inflammatory that contains the active ingredient Naproxen, so it is not an antibiotic and is not related to Amoxicillin. The FDA lists its typical side effects as possibly including nausea, dizziness, headache, increased risk of bleeding and stomach irritation. However, that does not mean that there isn't a risk of also discovering other medications that you are also allergic to. Is there anything else I can help with?

My daughter has amoxicillin that has not been touched can she use it if date is 9/24/15 ## Hello, Susie! How are you? Is it a liquid or tablets? All medications tend to lose efficacy over time, so taking an antibiotic once it's expired can create the risk of developing antibiotic resistant bacteria, since it may not work as well. However, liquids can actually go bad. It really is always better to obtain a new supply from your doctor, if you need an antibiotic. The FDA lists the typical side effects of this medication as possibly including nausea, dizziness, headache, non-allergic skin rash and diarrhea. ## Amoxicillin is good for one year when first purchased/received from the pharmacy.

For a tooth pain for a 12yr old girl would like to know if she could drink one until we see the dentist on Friday ## Hello, Iris! How are you? Sorry about your daughters toothache. However, Amoxicillin is not a pain medication, it is an antibiotic that's used to treat or prevent bacterial infections, so it will not relieve the pain. The only way it will help is if her pain is caused by an infection and even then, it will take several days to help. Learn more Amoxicillin details here. And if it isn't an infection, giving it to her creates the risk of her developing antibiotic resistant bacteria, which could be very dangerous. Thus, it is best to take her to a doctor or dentist, as soon as possible, for proper diagnosis and treatment, rather than trying to treat her yourself. Is t...

Hi, my daughter has a possible ear infection and the doctor prescribed her 400mg/5ml, 6mls 3 x a day. I was wondering if that was too much? In the past she has only taken it 2x a day. ## It is usually prescribed for children based on weight and the severity of the infection being treated, so it would be best to follow the doctor's prescribing instructions. The FDA lists its typical side effects as possibly including nausea, dizziness, headache, non-allergic skin rash, and diarrhea. Is there anything else I can help with?

My daughter is slim, 40 kgss, prescribed 1000 mg amoxicillin twice a day for tooth pain, is this too much ## How old is she? Past the age of 12, it is usually dosed according to the severity of the infection, prior to that, it is dosed by weight. The FDA lists its typical side effects as possibly including nausea, dizziness, headache, non-allergic skin rash and diarrhea. That is not, however, a dangerous dose. That amount can be prescribed, if necessary. ## My 13 year old has tonsillitis can she take a 500mg amoxicillin capsule??

I have a large carbuncle on the right of my scrotum for about a week now, and it does not seem to come to a head, and drain. I now want to bombard it with Betamox 500 capsules and Co-amoxyclav 375. Would that be safe? ## That is essentially doubling up, since they both contain Amoxicillin, so you should only take one, or the other. The NIH lists the typical side effects as possibly including nausea, dizziness, headache, non-allergic skin rash, and diarrhea. Are you on any other medications? Do you have any idea what's caused it?

I feel like I might have an upper respiratory infection will these pills help with my two week congested chest? ## Hello, AuntBebe! How are you? Amoxicillin is a broad spectrum antibiotic, so it can treat many types of bacterial infections. Its side effects may include nausea, dizziness, non-allergic skin rash and diarrhea. However, it will only treat an infection, so you shouldn't take it, unless your doctor has confirmed that you have one and an antibiotic is necessary. Taking it inappropriately creates the risk of your developing antibiotic resistant bacteria, which is also true if you don't have enough to complete a full course of treatment. Is there anything else I can help with? ## Can I use any type of antibiotics to cure a chest infection

Hi, I was prescribed pink and blue 45A by my doctor and this is my third time using them and all three times they have tasted like vomit. Is anyone else having that problem, or just me? ## Hello, Madelyn! How are you? Most medications taste awful, unless they are specially formulation to have actual flavor, according to the FDA. In actuality, you shouldn't be letting them sit in your mouth long enough to taste them, you should put it as far back in your mouth as possible, just short of gagging and swallow it immediately with a full glass of water. The NIH lists its typical side effects as possibly including nausea, dizziness, headache, non-allergic skin rash, and diarrhea. Is there anything else I can help with?

I have had no problems with Gimalxina and amoxicilina from mexico. The Gimablina is white and red capsule. Best result with amoxicilina is the white and blue capsule. have taken it for years when sick. I will only get from a Benavidez pharmacy across the border, with my other meds. ## Hi suzann, What type of antibiotic is Gimalxina or Gimablina? I haven't actually heard of these names before. Do you take it in conjunction with the Amoxicillin or is this quite simply a Mexican brand name of "Amoxicilina"? I'd be curious to know how effective it might be in comparison to our standard US-based Amoxicillin against similar types of bacterial infections... It's good to hear that you've had no problems with either of them.

I want to get a nose piercing but can't until it's out of my system. ## Hello, Jamie! How are you?
