I am on Amloiopine 5 mg. and Amaxide 75/50 for extremely high blood pressure. I am 79 yrs. of age, and most of my relatives have not lived past 50 yrs. of age. My only sister is 75 and she and I have the same blood pressure as our dad had years ago. He only lived to be 44 yrs. I've been on meds since my 40's, and every now and then the doctor has to up the dose of meds. About a year ago my blood pressure was 200/80, and the doctor tried sever other things, and then ended up by doubling my prescription to get it down to what it is now - normal.

Could this making me so sleepy and exhausted after taking the amloldipine and Maxide in the morning?

Hello, Norma! How are you doing?

In this case, I'm suspicious of the Maxzide, it contains a diuretic that helps remove excess fluid from the body, so it might be causing dehydration, which could case the symptoms you're experiencing.

How much fluids do you typically take in each day?

Have you consulted your doctor?
