are there any withdrawal symptoms when you stop taking this medication?

Yes. But he did not say anything about just cutting back slowly.
There are rebound symptoms and they can cause some serious problems, so it isn't advisable to just stop taking it abruptly, without your doctor's approval and supervision.
These rebound symptoms could result in sudden and severe elevations in blood pressure and heart rate, which has been known to cause heart attack and stroke.

Learn more Benazepril details here.
Has your doctor instructed you to stop taking it?
