Adderall Manufactured By Teva Not Working (Page 50) (Top voted first)
UpdatedI have had two refills of Adderall 20 mg that was manufactured by Teva/barr (Teva) and it seems to have much less medication in each pill. Refills by another manufacturer work. This is ridiculous, and where do we report Teva and who can check each pill for amount for medication? I would gladly donate some of my worthless ones to the FDA?
When I replied that Shire advised me to contact Teva I was talking about the Instant Release. That was the reason I put IR. I would hope their "name brand" 30mg IR is better than their generic, which is actually the old Barr. Pill logo B 974
The only drug I see for Adderall at Teva is still generic.
"Teva Introduces First Generic Adderall XR® Capsules in the United States.
Jerusalem, Israel, April 2, 2009 - Teva Pharmaceutical Industries Ltd. announced today that it has commenced commercial shipment of its generic version of Shire Pharmaceuticals' Adderal..."

Check under specialty meds. Not positive but I believe the NDC code for brand IR is 57844-130-01; pill imprint dp 30. Pharmacist says brand and generic from Teva has same ingredients and formula. I have brand ordered but cost is over 200.00 difference.
My psy doctor wrote me several prescriptions for my Adderall giving me 3 or 4 to see if it was tolerable. By doing that I was able to see that I definitely could not take Core, it shot my blood pressure up immediately. The with Aurobindo it did not seem I took a stimulant period. That left me with only Teva pill logo B 974. I could take it but I never experienced a clear mind nor could focus on anything. Now he has written Name Brand which will be Teva but with an almost 300.00 increase I hope it works differently than their generic. My last option is Sandbox generic which at this time is unavailable in my town. After that, if it fails the only choice I have is to go back on Shire 30mg XL. I know that works but it has a long lingering effect of not being able to sleep.
Wow dude i feel horrible!!!
Point blank prior script to this one filled today, was pink cor pharm. It was my lets go s***... it worked
Today, went to cvs, got orange oval, TEVA footballs, was stoked to try them. I am stuck now googling the F*** out of this s***, prescribed two 30s a day, took one, waited, was worried so I took an extra becuz I know what one pink does to me....from all I see it's the fillers, and how the fillers affect each person, but what frustrates me, is ToNs of post say that without a Question, football oranges are wayyyy more effective, hour after taking 60mg the footballs, I'm yawning, sluggish, just have a small headache coming on, tired, cold chills....WTF is going on!!!
Wahhhhh, I'm panicking now to have faith in finding a post that says, it takes a day or two for the bad to adjust an just give me the energy i need!!!
ANYBODY PLEASE, since today Is first day I switched from pink to orange football, after adjusting to it will this feeling go away???
Or should I really try switching back or to an alternative option, done mad research and the #1 preferred is these footballs but is this after a few days starting?....god man I am really frustrated right now.
Before last months pinks cor, my first script was orange round aero bindo..worked ok, I don't remember if it took days to adjust like this, only filled it a few hours ago, so am I jumping the gun???
Please....anyone....any input...
When I went to Costco they told me there would be two different pills in the bottle one Sandoz and one Teva. I told him I did not want that and I wanted only Sandoz. He explained the reason behind that was Sandoz cost more to them and they needed to go with the cheapest.
If you can help i'd be thankful....
(Quick back story)
Been on adderall for almost a year or so, switched pharmacies a few times....(reasons I moved) picked up script yesterday I'm prescribed two 30s. A day, been getting the pink round cor pharm for some months that worked for me, only chest pain often, dry mouth, but had my good energy I needed and motivation.....
Well yesterday as I went to CVS picked up my script not thinking s*** till getting home see they were the orange oval Teva footballs, as I've read about differences before I filled this, just never dawned on me to check before. Well after taking my dose I felt tired, yawning, chills, absolute No energy, non social...after seeing these are the # 1 sought out generic, I couldn't even understand this. My question to u is, does it take a few days to actually feel like I'm suppose to with energy, motivation, or is it true that fillers that differ had switched to whatever teva uses, and that's my problem? I've seen so many back an forth, some say cor pharm and a lot say teva, it varies...
Today is my second day taking footballs and I feel actually a bit better but day one dose was terrible....changing generics people are bound to feel changes at 1st, but should adjust right and be on track??
I've also heard that the fillers don't effect most, only sensitive folks. I'm also prescribed one 12mg strip a day along with the 60mg Addie...I've looked all over the net prob my third time back to this page...any input?
Thanks man.
I have gotten the 30mg last month so I don't know if that's true for every strength
I disagree. Mylan are bad along with most of the other medications made by that manufacturer. Teva/Barr were always great till recently, I miss the old Barr formula so much. But luckily I found a rare small pharmacy a few towns over from my house that can order Sandoz which is not the case if you are stuck filling your stuff at a chain store.
So glad to find your post. I've been taking Mallin Dex 10 mg. IRs ever since Adderall XR went to the dogs (deliberate, as we all know). Suddenly, the Mallin is now little more than a diet pill. I've taken 40 mg.: NOTHING. This is only since getting my last Rx filled. Tabs look the same, but what a joke! We need to go after these people. You seem to know a lot more than most about shrinking amounts of active ingredients. Any more to say? Thanks!
Dear Blair, I suggest you ask for the manufacturer Impax labs generic Adderall when you go to a pharmacy. Impax labs make it through its generic division 'Global Pharma' and is then packaged by Corepharma. Their generic is very good (I am talking about the 20mg round tablet marked COR 135 ndc 64720-0135-10). I also had troubles with Teva. Too many side effects although I only used it for less than a month. With Corepharma instead, I had some troubling side effects the first 10-14 days. After then, the only (very) minor side effect I experience is cold fingers and feet. However, I do not use it every day but rather Monday-Tuesday and Thursday-Friday (occasionally Sunday afternoon if I am busy at work). I take a 20mg tablet at 8am and a 10mg (split a 20mg tablet in half) at 1pm. Sometimes if I am very busy I would take another 10mg at 3pm. At least here in Massachusetts, we are allowed to ask pharmacists what maker of generic Adderall they have, and the majority of them are very sympathetic to the fact that different people like a manufacturer better than another. Best of luck to you!
Dear Darizz, very interesting indeed! The same happened to me when I took Corepharma for the first 10 days or so; palpitation, sweating, headache ect. but then suddenly all these bad effects disappeared (go figured..). Where were you able to find Sandoz generic Adderall? I heard Sandoz may no longer produce it. They will initiate producing the extended release capsules from June 2016 after an agreement with Shire. Thanks for your help.
That would be do to "TEVA USA" being a generic form of Adderall and not the namebrand. So I really hope you didn't have to pay more then what normal generics cost you.
The frustration & anger comes through loud and clear in your post.
I'll share my experience and maybe it will help you get back on track.
My first few months taking Adderall, I naively thought that my pharmacists and even my psychiatrist would guide me along until I had a working knowledge of Adderall and what to expect from it.
How mistaken was I.
But I learned a valuable lesson that still helps me today manage my Adderall and my ADD.
The lesson is that I alone am my advocate for my treatment from doctors and medication from pharmacists.
I am no longer afraid to ask WHY when a doctor treats me. I've accumulated enough facts and information about my ADD & Adderall to speak on a level to doctors/pharmacists that immediately earns respect and attention which in my experience equals better care for me.
The message I try to share most is that you are NOT at the mercy of your doctor & pharmacy. You do NOT have to meekly accept whatever it is they are trying to give you. Ask good questions. Press them on why they want you to do or take this or that. Very important to present your message without emotion or sarcasm.
You are absolutely right. Yours is a very real problem that me, and surely many others have experienced.
I learned (the hard way) that my problem was not to do so much with Teva or Aurobindo or Sandoz, but with the correct dosage for me and my body.
When a M.D. prescribes
30mgs 2x's daily...that is simply their best educated guess for what your treatment requires.
It has been rare that the 30mg IR my doc prescribed is actually the correct dose for me.
It is nothing more than a starting point, from then on, it is MY responsibility to adjust up or down until I find it. And you will absolutely know when you find it...the correct milligrams for you and your body. It will feel like Adderall is supposed to feel, rather than a placebo or sugar pill.
My experience is that when I stopped chasing worthless information like inactive ingredients, binders, fillers and the like and focused on adjusting my dose up or down as little as 2.5mg, I eventually found the milligram that worked for me for every single generic Adderall manufacturer out there. And I have used Teva, Actavis, Sandoz, CorePharma, & Aurobindo.
Be your own advocate!
My philosophy regarding my medication and my treatment plan is that I take NOTHING on face value.
I do my due diligence and then present my arguments and findings in a professional, respectful manner and if like mine, your relationship with M.D.'s and pharmacists will dramatically improve.
Excellent points made by Speak Up. Yours is an attitude and a confidence, I respect. Everybody....you, me, all of us who takes this seriously....yeah you...the daily management of this unique medication called Adderall requires from me the most attention and priority I can give it... When I really dig in for a few months, and consistently exercise, pay close attention to nutrition, hydration, a proper night's sleep, alkalizing my body to increase the absorption & retention. Sounds overkill, I know, but in my experience, these things take me to the best version of myself.
I eat way more vegetables, way more fruit which alkalize the body and I ate way less less acidic foods. Google a chart on acidic/basic food PH..... Told me what to eat what not. So...I followed it. I thought it was bulls*** at first too...but I stuck with it for 30 days and it improved my problem solving skills, my multitasking....you know, getting work/stuff/s*** DONE...and done well, one thing at a time.
That last sentence is what I like best about my Adderall experience. That's the feeling....when I'm on top of my game...and...I have a good handle on daily decisions....feels good, man, it feels damn good!
Taking Adderall is no joke, folks...seriously...it is a responsibility that I don't underestimate anymore. But when I'm on top of it, the very best version of me comes out.
My experience here only... folks..not trying to push anyone to any direction.. it is much better to find out for yourself anyway, than to take a person's word you've never met...take his word for it...No. Of course not!!
Has anybody tried Impax generic adderall? The pharmacy I went to this morning said that is the only brand they carry when and if they get in..
I have.
If your username is really how you feel most of the time, then I think you will be pleased with your Impax experience.
I have taken Impax, probably more commonly known by the name CorePharma for 90 consecutive days during this stretch of my Adderall experience.
My prescribed dose is 30mg IR, two times per day...and I am currently taking CorePharma/Impax...so these opinions and observations about it are fresh.
My experience was a significant boost in energy, in my motivation, in not giving up when tasks become difficult.
Multi-tasking, attention to important details as opposed to that feeling
of being a bit over amped...like when I brush my teeth 6 times a day.
I don't get like that much anymore, promise.
Kidding aside, my Impax experience has been very positive.
A few things I notice about it that I didn't notice in the other popular generics:
It has a sharp "come on" which I like. It kicks in quicker than the others and there is no doubt that when it does kick in that today my CorePharma will do it's job.
This is also psychologically important, (to me) that when I get the "come on" I can let go in my mind the thought, "is it going to kick in...or...will it work today?"
Some of you know that unpleasant anticipation of waiting to feel your Adderall. The worst, right?
I have had very few physical side effects. Some muscle tension, some irritability, but compared to the other generics....side effects aren't too bad.
The most important thing I would stress if this is your 1st month with Impax is to start with whatever dosage and frequency your doc prescribed. But DO NOT lose hope in Corepharma if you get little performance from that milligram.
On your own, as I did, adjust it up or down 2.5mgs or even 5mgs for a couple of days. My experience was: ...although prescribed 30mg, 25mg worked significantly better. More is not always better.
Play with the dose until you find the right one that fits your body/brain. You will know when you find that correct dose. Your energy level will be up, confidence up, and you will be ready to handle anything put in front of you.....that last part was my experience only.
Blair, I was so glad to see your post. I thought it was just me, but then again I KNEW it wasn't. And when I called Walgreens of course they said there had been no changes to the brand (Teva)and it was the same as I always got. It is not and I know just what you mean. I am not functioning well and have had to take time off and don't know what to do. My doctor will not listen either. I guess I will find a different brand to try but I'm really worried my life is falling apart in front of me. I'm an adult with a teenage daughter, and she thinks something is wrong with me now. Did you find a solution at all?
Massachusettes, walgreens has the teva brand (b973 20), rite aid has the corepharma (pink tablets cor 135 meaning 20mg and cor 136 meaning 30mg), and cvs has mylan (orange tablets printed with AD 20). If we go back 4 months ago, the best generic adderall was teva which is offered by walgreens (luckily I still have few left from that time they worked great). However as of november 17, 2016 the best generic adderall is the pink tablets manufactured by corepharma and is found in rite aid pharmacy. Do not buy teva or mylan!!! You will get screwed and have to wait for another month to get the prescription... Even if you tell your doctor that they don't work he wont give you another prescription and will tell you to wait another month! The teva footballs (b973 20) now are nothing compared to the same ones that were offered in walgreens 4 months ago. Hope this helps!
Ps: The teva tablets issued 4 months ago are better than the corepharma pink tablets now.
I have gone through two stretches in my Adderall experience that are similar to the circumstances you are describing.
So, I understand the mentality of "this is the worst ever, and it probably isn't going to get better anytime soon."
The Adderall is doing nothing for my brain/body. I know it. I hate it. And I feel betrayed by it. My irritability is off the chart and nobody wants anything to do with me!
What the hell just happened here...it was working fine then one random day, it stopped? An aspirin would have been as effective.
It's 10 days or so until my next fill, and I am a MESS!
And I have no idea what to do about it, because I can't hold a thought for more than a few seconds and completing a task that requires more than one decision...well...I literally had zero chance of doing so.
So...my experience was that there was not one specific"magic" solution that got things back to normal. Grinding out each day with a lousy attitude was my experience.
I took a 3 day "break" from any Adderall. It was pretty rough day one, but after that, I did feel a cleansing of sorts and it made me feel better about me and my situation.
In my experience, there is little relief from stretches like these. That is not an encouraging message, I know...but that was the uncomfortable reality for me.
Looking back, yes it sucked for a few days, but I got through it, as will you, and I felt tougher, more resilient about myself and what I can handle and overcome after having gone through it.
