Adderall Manufactured By Teva Not Working (Page 44)
(Newest replies first)

I have had two refills of Adderall 20 mg that was manufactured by Teva/barr (Teva) and it seems to have much less medication in each pill. Refills by another manufacturer work. This is ridiculous, and where do we report Teva and who can check each pill for amount for medication? I would gladly donate some of my worthless ones to the FDA?
Hi, I'm having trouble with Teva-brand generic Adderall, as well (I googled 'adderall not working', that's how I found this site).
I've been prescribed the same Adderall IR dosage for about 2.5 years: a 20mg tablet in the morning, and a second tablet split later in the day (usually 10mg around 11, 10mg around 3pm).
In reality, I usually take less Adderall (or none at all) on the weekend and add a late afternoon dose during the workweek; my doctor said she's fine with that. It helps me stay awake, on task and focused on what I'm doing.
But... This month the pills are different, and they barely work at all. It's awful!
- This month the pills are Teva generic, purchased in Oregon, at Walgreens. They're oval, flat, light orange and are imprinted b/973. They taste sweet (this medicine never has, before). Over the past week I've been trying to get them to work but even if I take 2 whole 20mg pills, they don't help my focus or general alertness. My pulse doesn't speed up at all; I'd expect it to if I were really taking 2x my normal dose.
- Normally the Adderall I take are round, scored orange tablets with "U30" imprinted. In the past, I've filled the prescription at either Fred Meyer or Rite Aid. All the paperwork & bottles I could find show Aurobindo as the manufacturer. I've never felt like the tablets were inconsistent (too much or too little medicine) until now.
This is so lame!!!

"Dilly dilly! Dilly dilly... dilly, dilly, and dilly!"
Chas apparently got a good batch this month.
Dilly dilly! Dilly dilly... dilly, dilly, and dilly!
Re: Josh (# 524)
I totally agree the price is NOT equivalent to the efficacy of the brand vs Generic Teva but it's clearly a more effective Med than Generic. Perhaps you are seeking more than Med and something more?
I'm on Aurobindo this month and they basically are weak.
Next month? Not Sure but it will not be adderall brand Teva as Express Scripts will not cover it at all...its like the fox guarding the henhouse...this insurance companies are not clueless.
Re: Hamster (# 471)
Last month's refill of generic Adderall (Teva) from Walgreen suddenly had zero effect. This month I paid $420 out of pocket for brand name Adderall (Teva), and it also had 0 effect. Some light research revealed that Teva is on the brink of filing for Bankruptcy due to competitive pricing on generic drugs, so it's not a stretch to imagine a correlation. Nothing goes from 100% to 0% effectiveness in one day. There is definitely something going on with Teva's recent batches of Adderall.
In conclusion, do not be mislead by the previous poster's comment. Recent batches of "Brand Name" Adderall (from Teva) is no better than then their cheap generic version. Don't waste your money.
Re: Hamster (# 500)
The generic (Teva) 20mg IR tablets I've been taking for years suddenly stopped working (cold turkey) on last month's refill. I did some research and learned that Teva is on the brink of filing for bankruptcy due to competitive generic medication pricing. Typically the only way to stay competitive is to -A- make a better product (which rarely happens) or -B- cut corners on current products (which is the norm). There may be a direct correlation between Teva's sudden financial problems and my Adderall suddenly not working, which is why I put it to the test.
I'm a Software Engineer for a financial institution, so needless to say I absolutely need my Adderall to work. Out of desperation, and unable to risk another month of placebos, I asked my Doctor to make the prescription out for Brand Name Adderall. My concern was with Teva, and my goal was to get away from them, but I ended up getting the shaft instead. When I picked up this month's prescription from Walgreens they gave me Brand name Adderall.... from Teva! $420 out of pocket, PLUS... it had absolutely zero effect, just as the prior month's generic prescription. Tolerance is one thing, but no medication goes from 100% to 0% in one day.
I was put on Adderall in November, 2017.
I went to Rite Aid and got my prescription filled, they gave me the Aurobindo brand.
It was very strong, like speedy strong. 20 MG IR, it had the "U30" imprint on it.
It took my body at least a week to get used to it. My body ached at first.
The next month, I called some Pharmacies and found a Mom and Pop place that had "Sandoz". I'm guessing it is left over.
I have to say, Sandoz was so much smoother and less speedy as Aurobindo.
The Sandoz had the "E 401" imprint and is an orange color.
The Aurobindo was good, if you were very tired and had to get up.
I prefer Sandoz. I will keep getting it filled, till they run out of it.
It's too bad Sandoz isn't making it anymore.
Hey, when you guys post an update or say which generic is or isn't working, can you provide a few details?
1. Manufacturer
2. The mg and a description of the pill
3. ***THE PHARMACY WHERE YOU FILLED YOUR PRESCRIPTION***
4. Your location, if you are comfortable with that, on the off-chance we are close and can then be guaranteed to know the manufacturer
Because if one of the generics works better than others, and it is available at a chain pharmacy, usually it is consistent throughout the whole chain and that will make it easier for all of us to get a hold of that manufacturer's Adderall, or to avoid it if we don't like that manufacturer.
Thanks :)
PS: I'm hearing rumors of Sandoz Adderall IR returning to the market. If somebody can confirm this, what pharmacy are you using?
Re: Chas (# 518)
My new script for generic ir adderal pinkish oval 20 mg. with the b imprint is like taking nothing. But Walgreens always carries Barr. How can even different "fill" of pills be different? Adderal is great when it "works" but is at least in generic ir form the most INCONSISTENT drug I have ever used. Does anyone know why? Why are there no "authorized" generic adderal ir?
Re: Jake (# 511)
I haven't had any anxiety reaction on the Auro, only Barr. The last time they prescribed it oct 2017 it actually put me into a depression though. Got my order filled with Auro again and haven't had any problems. Everyones body will be different though.
I am experiencing the same problem with the TEVA D-Amphetamine Salt Combo 30 Mg. Tabs. I got this bottle on Jan. 27, 2017. They simply are inefficacious. I’ll contact my physician tomorrow, but I’m not holding my breath.
Re: James (# 516)
That's good to know!
I flipped a coin on either Aurobindo or Teva this month and Aurobindo won...1st day not bad. The last 6 days nothing...just soooo weak.
I'll try Teva again in February!
Thanks!
Re: Verwon (# 1)
As stated in a previous post, I have noticed that their product has improved profoundly within the last 2 to 3 months
Perhaps it is the result of so many people initiating complaints with the FDA.
However, I have indeed noticed a marked improvement in their generic Adderall IR product
Within the last three months, I have noticed that Teva’s generic Adderall IR product has improved profoundly in both potency and efficacy.
Re: Jeff (# 505)
I hate this. I legitimately was perfect on corepharma instant release, like amazing, like my life was perfect! I've been such a mess and I've tired sandoz ir and I've tried teva brand ir and impax xr and nothing is the same. It sucks. Do you think they will ever make the corepharma Ir ever again? I'm desperate! I hate living like this.
Re: Jake (# 511)
Coffee or caffeine in general, will have a synergistic effect with adderall. Some will tolerate it well, but those prone to anxiety will likely have their symptoms amplified with that combination.
Re: Jake (# 511)
I actually had the panic attack while taking the Barr brand, I just stay away from coffee now but I don't get anxious on Auro.
Re: jp (# 508)
The main reason I don't ever touch Aurobindo's product is because it is highly anxiety inducing. It puts me right at the edge of having an anxiety attack. Caffeine on any Adderall just increases your chances of experiencing anxiety, so it would make sense that it triggers anxiety in Aurobindo users.
I agreed the first week. Now they put me to sleep.
Re: James (# 507)
I've only had Aurobindo until last month when they changed my morning 20mg dose to Teva because they were out of the Aurobindo. The Teva might as well have been a placebo. The efficacy just wasn't there. Fortunately, I will be getting both doses back on Aurobindo next month. The pharmacist was very helpful and told me to call a few days in advance to make sure they had it in stock, and if it's not, they can order the ones I need with no issues.
