Adderall Manufactured By Teva Not Working (Page 42) (Top voted first)

I have had two refills of Adderall 20 mg that was manufactured by Teva/barr (Teva) and it seems to have much less medication in each pill. Refills by another manufacturer work. This is ridiculous, and where do we report Teva and who can check each pill for amount for medication? I would gladly donate some of my worthless ones to the FDA?

Hi - Yes, have Express Scripts but they now do not cover the Adderall IR brand now in 2018 (by TEVA Select). I was getting those for $100 for 60- now $450 for 60! )and only distribute good, ole Teva sugar pills as generics..surprise, surprise. May go back on the Adderall XR train as its getting slim pickings! Thanks.

It all depends on the individual...auro is the only one that I can take at this point. I thought I had the flu from Teva but the crazy anxiety and depression is what really affected me. I feel great with auro. My only issue with taking these meds is the urge to smoke. Out of curiosity, does anyone else here feel the desire for a smoke after taking your first dose? How do you cope with it?

Who are the definite manufacturers of the generic now?

I have only seen Teva and Aurobindo in Massachusetts for the last six months or so but I am going to ask if I can order something else from CVS this month.

Walgreens provided me their list, however this is for my particular dosage and it is the instant release formula. There may be other manufacturers to seek out.

Hi
Just filled my first Mylan 30mg today. I was fed up with Teva and Aurobindo and just happened to call my old pharmacy and they had just received a shipment of the Mylan.

Decided to fill and just took 1st one. So far very slow come up and then very speedy! Wow...much different then those Teva sugar dudes.

Now the "proof will be in the pudding" how effective they will be for focus, etc.

I'll report back in 1 week.

So far very pleased. Not overly speedy, no real side effects except usually dry mouth, good focus, concentration and motivation.

I do notice they do not last long.

I'll see if I feel the same in 1 week.

I get mine at Oakdell Pharmacy in San Antonio. They are not a major chain and are great...

I do not know of any other pharmacy in SA other than Oakdell that carry Mylan. It's all Aurobindo and Teva...yuck, aargh!

I have been taking this medication for 10 years. Between the years of 2009 to 2014, Teva generic Adderall IR was the best and most potent.

At around 2015, the potency dropped substantially. As a result, I am looking for alternatives.

Can anyone on the board comment on Mylan IR?

I’m about to fill this month’s prescription and I am trying to find somewhere in Massachusetts that is stocking anything but Teva.

Alternatively, does anyone know of CVS will special order a different generic?

Help a lady out if you have seen non-Teva North (or around) Boston. The Teva is not worth taking anymore. ??

I asked my prescriber this question last week & here was her answer...

(SIDE NOTE: I’m in Rhode Island. I think the prescribing laws in RI are similar/same as MA. Also requesting info from the CVS pharmacists on Hope St. on Providence RI has been very helpful and always respectful when answering questions and providing info about this medication... Been going for 8 years).

Since other brand name generic amphetamine salt tablets (30 mg IR) have always been less effective than TEVA... I asked her if I could have her prescribe TEVA, a generic I requested or something she recommends.

Here was her response...

* YES! We as patients can request from our doctors to prescribe a certain brand or generic, if we feel that others are not as effective or cause bad reactions

* The prescriber will need to write the prescription with the command “brand (your choice) only"

* In Rhode Island CVS Pharmacy (and others I’m sure) will see if it is in stock... or available to order. If it is, then you are ALL SET. If it is NOT in stock or they normally do not order from a pharmaceutical company then they will see if they can.

They may also need to call your doctor and she/he may need to call or write a request to your insurance to officially request a script change and state reasons.

* Insurance will either accept/deny the request. If denied, I believe you may need to pay out of pocket or may have a prescription be increased.

* Since we are all discussing generic amphetamine salt tablets... I don’t think this will be an enormous price increase since without insurance it’s about 35 dollars compared to co pay.

Other options... you may also have doctor prescribe a change of medicine from generic to name brand or immediate release to extended or dose ... this will cancel out your other prescription. You may need to bring back pills if it was recently filled. You also have to have established trust with your doctor. This is not a likely case though.

Lastly, ask your doctor to try different generics. Trial for one or two weeks... this way if it is awful you don’t have to wait a whole month.

I’m fortunate to have been with my Nurse practitioner for many years and she’s bright, knowledgeable, insightful and empathetic. She listens to patients and tries to help.

She left for a year to travel... I was left with a prescriber who first told me she’s only prescribing me my dose because i was a recommended patient from my doctor... and that clinician she works under does not allow any prescriptions of Adderall or stimulants normally. I felt like I was some type of criminal. She also had offered no strategies and when my doctor returned told me she will no longer be saint me because she’s very uncomfortable writing a script.

Out this way... i was just moved out and for a divorce... my dear friend passed... I was a domestic violence victim... I lost one paper prescription and asked for a new one. She would not write it even though in RI the pharmacy would known if it had been used or not. This place was called Angel street counseling in Warwick RI and would like help with ADHD or need a prescription that is considered a stimulant. She can write a prescription requesting “blank” brand ONLY. The CVS on hope st in RI is always very helpful compared to other.

The Pharmacist said, yes they can pre-order for people. (3) Years ago I thought TEVA was much better than now. I have taken 3 months off this year. Just took my first TEVA generic Adderall pill an hour ago.

Over the years my prescriber has worked with me in these ways to help when medication are no longer effective or I suffer negatively in some way.

I’m fortunate to have been with my Nurse practitioner for many years and she’s bright insightful and empathetic. I hope you are fortunate enough to find someone like her.

The pharmacy won’t take the medication back because they can’t, and since it’s a controlled substance, filling it twice in 30 days is damn near impossible without seeing a doctor, and insurance won’t cover it twice.

Aurobindo works great for me.

Teva shouldn’t be allowed to make herbal tea, let alone powerful psychotropic drugs for people with cognitive deficits and imbalances.

I have taken two drugs manufactured by these guys. The first was generic Adderall. Over the years, it has consistently caused me crushing anxiety when other brands haven't. Anxiety so bad sometimes I couldn't concentrate. Now when I go to the pharmacy I ask what I’m getting before handing over the prescription.

The second drug was Wellbutrin, which unfortunately for me was prescribed right around the time it was recalled. I started feeling great towards the end of the first week. This lasted about three days, and then the rage kicked in. Explosive rage. Gleeful rage. Triggered by the tiniest of sleights. I had a moment there, when I felt the urge to seriously hurt someone I cared about, coupled with this really disturbing feeling that I would have enjoyed it immensely. Instead, I threw out the bottle and kept to myself until I felt normal again. Never had that feeling before. Never had it since.

What are the differences you've noticed between aurobindo and sandoz xr? Energy, focus, side effects? I've been on aurobindo for a while and recently been having horrible batches that make my heart rate, anxiety go through the roof. As well as no focus and complete cloudiness. I want to fall asleep all day even with high heart rate. Not sure what the deal is. Looking for something more stable. How have the sandoz xr been in comparison to you?
