Adderall Manufactured By Teva Not Working (Page 41) (Top voted first)

Updated

I have had two refills of Adderall 20 mg that was manufactured by Teva/barr (Teva) and it seems to have much less medication in each pill. Refills by another manufacturer work. This is ridiculous, and where do we report Teva and who can check each pill for amount for medication? I would gladly donate some of my worthless ones to the FDA?

Re: My name (# 476) Expand Referenced Message
I'm having the same issues here in TX with CVS dispensed Adderall Barr, 20/B-973, not working at all, I mean zero effect.

Someone needs to do something. The answer is on the internet. I just don't know what we can do about it. All i will say is all adhd medications are junk. The fda and dea have teamed up to get rid of drugs for adhd. Come on, there's a reason why teva bought out and sold and stopped making it, because if they own all them they can get rid of it. They had help too from a couple more companies like core pharma. So please someone do your homework, look it up. I just don't know who to tell?

I pay for the Adderall Brand 30 mg - and yes, Teva produces this (but in another plant).

For 60, my insurance co-co-pay is $100 bucks. Expensive? Yes. Worth the cost? Yes.

They are excellent, smooth, no real side effects and do what they are supposed to do!

I have a medical account that is deducted from my paycheck and use this Visa to cover the cost..

Unfortunately this cost is prohibitive for many but you will get out of the "which crap generic do I get this month!" ...my Doc writes "Brand Necessary" on script.

Good luck!

I think the posters on this site have made it keenly aware to all of us that this brand does not have high standards and is of poor quality. The question then, however, is what generic brands have people tried that worked better? Anyone try Mylan?

Re: James (# 507) Expand Referenced Message

I love Aurobindo/Aurolife. I know some posters have poo poo'd it in the past but i have been taking it for two years with no issues. I actually only need to take a half in the morning and then do quarter pieces through the day. I had an extreme panic attack/reaction to caffeine in 2012 from Barr. Has anyone noticed an intolerance to any kind of caffeine since taking adderall? I haven't had coffee since then.

I hate this. I legitimately was perfect on corepharma instant release, like amazing, like my life was perfect! I've been such a mess and I've tired sandoz ir and I've tried teva brand ir and impax xr and nothing is the same. It sucks. Do you think they will ever make the corepharma Ir ever again? I'm desperate! I hate living like this.

Re: Chas (# 518) Expand Referenced Message

My new script for generic ir adderal pinkish oval 20 mg. with the b imprint is like taking nothing. But Walgreens always carries Barr. How can even different "fill" of pills be different? Adderal is great when it "works" but is at least in generic ir form the most INCONSISTENT drug I have ever used. Does anyone know why? Why are there no "authorized" generic adderal ir?

Re: Hamster (# 471) Expand Referenced Message

Last month's refill of generic Adderall (Teva) from Walgreen suddenly had zero effect. This month I paid $420 out of pocket for brand name Adderall (Teva), and it also had 0 effect. Some light research revealed that Teva is on the brink of filing for Bankruptcy due to competitive pricing on generic drugs, so it's not a stretch to imagine a correlation. Nothing goes from 100% to 0% effectiveness in one day. There is definitely something going on with Teva's recent batches of Adderall.

In conclusion, do not be mislead by the previous poster's comment. Recent batches of "Brand Name" Adderall (from Teva) is no better than then their cheap generic version. Don't waste your money.

"Dilly dilly! Dilly dilly... dilly, dilly, and dilly!"

Chas apparently got a good batch this month.

Hi, I'm having trouble with Teva-brand generic Adderall, as well (I googled 'adderall not working', that's how I found this site).

I've been prescribed the same Adderall IR dosage for about 2.5 years: a 20mg tablet in the morning, and a second tablet split later in the day (usually 10mg around 11, 10mg around 3pm).

In reality, I usually take less Adderall (or none at all) on the weekend and add a late afternoon dose during the workweek; my doctor said she's fine with that. It helps me stay awake, on task and focused on what I'm doing.

But... This month the pills are different, and they barely work at all. It's awful!

- This month the pills are Teva generic, purchased in Oregon, at Walgreens. They're oval, flat, light orange and are imprinted b/973. They taste sweet (this medicine never has, before). Over the past week I've been trying to get them to work but even if I take 2 whole 20mg pills, they don't help my focus or general alertness. My pulse doesn't speed up at all; I'd expect it to if I were really taking 2x my normal dose.

- Normally the Adderall I take are round, scored orange tablets with "U30" imprinted. In the past, I've filled the prescription at either Fred Meyer or Rite Aid. All the paperwork & bottles I could find show Aurobindo as the manufacturer. I've never felt like the tablets were inconsistent (too much or too little medicine) until now.

This is so lame!!!

Having the same problem with Walgreens/Teva Adderall IR. Filled in MA, if that helps. I take 5-7mg, so breaking pills but can't get to that dose without feeling too dizzy/speedy....Harder to concentrate instead of better. so not taking.

Teva was reported for going to generic rather than joking the fda regulation at a bare minimum of the percentage allowed per pill. The 20 ir has let's say the salt combo is 20 percent max active, they bumped it down to the minimum allowed by the fda which is considered 12 percent under the max allowed by law. They also changed it to dextroamp instead of using the regular methylphenidate salt combo. So long story short they cut the main ingredient with this new dextroamp. Also, buying name brand is also a gamble because these have a shelf life and if you pay for the name brand and they have it and don’t order it you're getting somewhat of a stale pill. I’ve been taking these my whole life and I know exactly what you're talking about. I just noticed this though about 8 months ago and found out this info through the deep grape vine of the doctors that deal with the vendors you can check this info & it is the truth. Best thing to do is either get the 20 extended release or have your doctor write you a script, but have him change it to brand name and if you don’t have insurance use Rx savings cards & you can get the brand name for a max of 210$.

Re: JoshC (# 534) Expand Referenced Message

I am sure you are taking this for the right reasons, but you use a few specific words that seems to
to perhaps imply that you may be taking this for its energetic, mood elevation, and its tangible effects

Sometimes a drug (maybe working) in a patient
not necessarily feeling subjective tangible effects.

I obviously do not know your clinical condition, but I picked up on this and I could be wrong

I agree, although Teva was going downhill it seems as of late to be stronger and more efficacious

Re: Jawepa (# 533) Expand Referenced Message

I can relate and is so frustrating. I have clinical ADD caused by mercury toxicity (very high) & side affects from using pain medication for many years, from chronic pain caused by mercury. Finally gave up on Adderall, Ritalin is much better for true ADD, especially if a possibility you're hypothyroid which also causes cognitive dysfunction, fatigue. Less crash on the back side, however, lasts half as long as Adderall so dosing should be increased.

I've also found supplementing with Nootropics, Omega 3/DHA, Coconut oil, B Complex, L-Tyrosine, L-Theanine,
L-Carnitine, SAMe, Folate, Inositol, Alpha GPC & CDP Choline, 5-HTP can help improve cognition, improve efficiasy of Ritalin & reduce crash from the drugs. But suggest you do your own research, many of the above can not be taken with antidepressant meds.

I own and operate a Co going on 18 yrs so I can't allow cognitive dysfunction to take control, and it's a battle daily. Imperative to maintain good nutrition and to feed the brain what it needs to function correctly. But each person is different so it takes much trial and error to find the correct balance for your individual situation. Best of luck!

I recently read a few reviews that "Sun Pharma" had improved their Adderall and it is pretty good now. I know they were not good in the past.

Can anyone confirm how their quality is lately?
Thank you!!

Re: eggspert (# 546) Expand Referenced Message

Corepharma was sold by Impax to a group of investors. The CEO will be one of original Corepharma founders. Also, a top Aurobindo executive joined the group too.

Manufacturing is supposed to start by the end of the 1st quarter. No official word on the previous pink generic Adderall but one can assume that that pill will re-emerge. Time will tell if it's the same!

Re: Steve (# 561) Expand Referenced Message

Hi
I just filled my monthly script and NO PHARMACY in San Antonio has any other than Teva.

Its literally the ONLY game in town...

I know these are NEW Teva shipments/ orders as my usual pharmacy either cannot get Aurobindo or they have dropped them as they only have Teva now...which they never had in past.

Same old story....They seem OK but weak with same symptom's othe'sr have reported.

It appears there is a huge backlog/shortage of the 30 MG from all generics except Teva...hmm.

Good Luck.
