Adderall Manufactured By Teva Not Working (Page 38) (Top voted first)

Updated

I have had two refills of Adderall 20 mg that was manufactured by Teva/barr (Teva) and it seems to have much less medication in each pill. Refills by another manufacturer work. This is ridiculous, and where do we report Teva and who can check each pill for amount for medication? I would gladly donate some of my worthless ones to the FDA?

Although Teva was, at one time, producing brand name Adderall IR (as well as manufacturing a generic under the same name), as of 4/1/16 Teva no longer produces "Brand Name" Adderall. To that end, I do not know who does, or if it has been discontinued.

Teva continues to make generic Adderall IR.

This particular group does not seem to like the Teva version, but a majority do...

Teva generic Adderall IR was rated #1, followed by Corepharna (2) and Sandoz (3)

Obviously, I prefer Teva....I find Corepharma to be very, very weak.

However, something (that perhaps I have only noticed) concerning the actual size of the Teva 30mg pill *I have these.

Is it just me, or are the tablets smaller in size/circumference than 3 or 4 years ago (When Teva purchased Barr)?

My pharmacist has ordered Sandoz brand generic 20 mg IR tablets for me for the last 5 years. At my last visit she informed me that the manufacturer has discontinued production of these.

Thank you!
I have the exact same problem. They changed dramatically. (30 mg IR)
I noticed they are harder to break than before.
Very little effect. I was confused and thought maybe my tolerance went up all of a sudden.

I have had same problem. My psy gave me enough scripts to check out four brands. Although the Teva B 974 30mg barley even wake you up out of the four it was the least harsh for rapid heart beat and trembling. I just have to add an extra little piece to keep it working at all. No clear mind. Please do a med watch report. Another thing I am starting to have allergic reactions to all generic medication. Dr. Just wrote script for Dexedrine but I have no idea what manufacturer is the better one.

It's the other way around Teva bought Barr, but I feel your pain about being looked at as a drug seeker. I am one of the lucky few who's dr is actually aware of the problem going on with most of the generics out there and it's not just adderall. Hopefully they will change the formula back to the original but I doubt it because it's probably cheaper than the other. And all big pharma cares about is their bottom line.

I have been taking the Barr DEXTROAMPHETAMINE SULFATE 15mg brown and clear capsules for a few years for narcolepsy. On 9/21 I filled my rx at Walgreens as usual and thought it was kinda cool I got a full bottle, completely sealed, of a different brand: Actavis distributed by Mayne. I took them for about 2-3 weeks and then messaged my doctor and told her how they seemed like they weren't working. I hoped she might have insight or advice but just told me "I can't help where you fill your rx". When I went to pick up my script that day I got hit with a random U/A which was ok.

Interestingly enough the results were negative for my narcolepsy med, the DEXTROAMPHETAMINE SULFATE. I did come up positive for the pain medication. We will see how this plays out but this confirmed to me that either the new brand generic doesn't have any of the active ingredient, or it's failing to dissolve. (There were over 600,000 bottles recalled this spring for this reason, failing dissolution standards.) I went to walgreens and told the pharmacist, dressed in church clothes for what it's worth, and she said "those were a different lot/batch.(like these couldn't be bad too) and that my body must not metabolize them correctly. (patient error/fault) love it. Now as far as what to do about this, I have no clue. Already checked walmart and they carry the same thing. Suggestions/Answers appreciated.

If you go to the FDA website you can print off and complete a Consumer Marketwatch form and send it in about this. I have filled it out. Now I must fax it in! Good luck and God Bless!

Everyone reacts differently (besides to the new crapy Teva formula - no one has liked those). But I have to disagree with the last post; Core generic adderall is one of the worst out there at least for me. I get crazy heart racing and sweating if I'm not moving. I still swear by Sandoz and I'm so lucky that I have the option to purchase those from a small pharmacy and not a major chain.

I have been able to get It from a small non chain pharmacy. They had it for awhile then gave me Teva for one month so I thought that was it for the Sandoz but my next refill they had the Sandoz back in stock. That is one thing that is great about a small pharmacy I had talked to the Main pharmacist and told him about the side effects I was getting so he went out of his way and ordered those for me. Just sucks nowadays there are very few of the gems left I actually have to drive 15 mins to go to that pharmacy.

One more thing....
So I read that Actavis recalled over 600,000 bottles of their generic dextroamphetamine back in the spring. Here's an excerpt:
According to the most recent FDA Enforcement Report, Actavis is voluntarily recalling 54 lots involving four different dose forms of dextroamphetamine saccharate, amphetamine aspartate, dextroamphetamine sulfate, and amphetamine sulfate tablets after they failed tests for impurity levels. The recall was initiated in February but was just classified by the FDA last week as a Class II recall. The nationwide includes 38,507 bottles of 5 mg tablets, 114,388 bottles of 10 mg tablets, 257,746 bottles 20 mg tablets and 182,378 bottles of 30 mg tablets.

I take the 15mg caps and some of them were recalled as well, according to FDA website, for failing dissolution standards.(failed to dissolve)
I'm not a chemistry or pharmacology major but I dumped one capsule in water and rubbing alcohol and one in lime juice. A week later neither had changed.

Just wanted to let you know!

Interesting debate. For my latest prescription, I asked my local hospital pharmacy (Boston MA) to order generic Adderall 20mg tablets (not extended release) manufactured by Sandoz (NDC: 00185-0853-01), and it arrived a couple of days later. What follows is my personal experience: Having tried Teva, Corepharma (made by Globalpharma, the generic division of Impax Labs.) and now Sandoz (for one week), I believe Sandoz to be the generic with the least side effects (slightly cold hands, some dry mouth, a little belly discomfort probably because I am still adjusting to the new generic). However, so far I can't really say that this product is working well enough. My ability to focus and pay attention for longer than a few minutes has not improved that much (I have adult attention disorder) and I do not feel as calm and attentive as I should be. Now Corepharma: I certainly experienced some serious side effects and little efficacy the first 10-12 days. However, soon after I found that this product started working very well. The palpitations stopped and I was able to focus and be calm (but alert), attentive, with an overall sense of relaxation but, at the same time, very productive and organized. In terms of side effects, all I experienced after the first 10-12 days are some dry mouth, cold hands and difficulty falling asleep (not always though), but I found these side effects not very bothersome overall. Now Teva: I found that with Teva generic Adderall (used it for 4 weeks) I experience the most side effects which do not seem to go away or become less bothersome. These are: palpitations, some dizziness, cold fingers and feet, slight nervousness, some difficulties taking deep breaths and a stiffed, painful neck). In terms of effectiveness, the Teva generic does a fairly good job even though it tends to agitate me a bit more (does not make me anxious thugh, only a little restless). So, overall, I am inclined to get Corepharma for my next refill unless my current Sandoz's supply improves in effectiveness in the next few weeks as my body adjust to the medication. I hope my experience is helpful to some of you. One thing I wanted to point out is that the first 10 days using Corepharma were quite bad in terms of side effects and I actually complained to my physician. Perhaps, when you want (or have) to use a different generic manufacturer, the trick is to manage the side effects for the first week or two and be patient until your body get used to the new medication. Good luck to you all.

I felt the same way about CorePharma/Impax. "Stinky Pinkies" I've heard them called by a psychiatrist.

So needless to say, I wasn't thrilled when after searching the stores for which generic adderall manufacturer they had on hand, CorePharma/TevaBarr/Aurobindo were the only 3 available in my city.

I've tried both Teva & Aurobindo (both 20IR or 30IR). Mixed feelings on both.
So what the hell, if I go with Corepharma at least I will know if it's good/bad, side effects, etc.

This is my 13/14th month taking Adderall IR, and unequivocally I can say that from my experience, that all generic adderall are not the same, will not effect the body/mind the same, side effects or not the same...you get it.

So 15 days into Corepharma (30mg IR 2x's daily...Not only do I not hate it, I am very pleasantly surprised at what it's doing for my focus, completion of tasks, motivation, and even a nice come on that's almost euphoric.

I feel no need to take more than prescribed. I'm getting a good 5-6 hours from each dose.

Some Side effects are present...for me, muscle tension, some irritability, but nothing significant.

I do notice, and this is a very important tidbit about Corepharma, that through upping or lowering the dose, as little as 2.5mg makes a huge difference in how it performs.
For example, I took the 30mg as prescribed and quickly knew this wasn't it. I dropped it 5mg, to 25mg and the difference was shocking. Felt like that 1st month on Adderall...you know what mean...damn near perfection.

Conclusion: Give Corepharma/Impax a try, despite all the negative you have read about it. Most importantly, tweak the dose the first couple days and you will definitely feel it when you get the right dose.

I agree with a lot of what you just posted minus saying that hinders and fillers have no effect on the medication. I know from personal experience at least with me that they will play very important role on how the medication is absurd in your body and the overall effectiveness of the medication itself.

Since important events are affecting the wellness of my life and mental health, I Respectfully Request to you my doctor, a prescription change, from adderall; for Adderall Brand Name necessary.

I was confused and thought maybe my tolerance to Adderall IR went up all of a sudden..... but it's not!

After a difficult to do (since my symptoms) intensive research and with the help of my dear Husband, I have confirmed that the problem (in my case) is the poor quality of all generic Adderall immediate release that are actually in the market, many with clear authentic experiences and history's from regular consumers on respectable well known websites.

Adderal manufactured by Teva not working

Pending Recall Teva Generic Adderall March 2016 Actavis

Manufacturer Teva has issued a voluntary recall of twolots of generic adderall. [Drug affected: amphetamine salts 10 mg tablets]

My symptoms in the last 4 months, I have waited this long because wanted to provide a 100 % accurate report.

Generic TEVA 10 mg adderall / 60 mg daily

I have felt insane for the last fourth months. I've lost interested in life and all what I used to be passionate for.... I have every day extreme fatigue and I am extremely exhausted and tired.... sometimes after I take the adderall I have crazy heart racing and sweating, chasing hands... I feel lost, confused.... not energy at all. My mind is in limbo, I can't think, coordinate or focus!!! When I'm awake I'm severe irritate and angry, every day I feel cranky/moody.... I don't enjoy anymore socializing. In fact I actively avoid social interaction now. I turn in agoraphobic and never want go anywhere... constantly I feel severe sadness and cry for nothing at all ....chronic migraines that won't go away... shaky, YAM ALL THE TIME.... I am desperate of my poorly and almost nonexistent capacity in all matters.... I need help.... actually I have serious life events that I need to work on and resolve. The best event that I have been waiting four long years to happen.... and now finally I have been blessed....(my son coming to live with me) and I feel physically incapable... I don't know where to start. I forget mostly everything.... my life is falling in a million pieces.

I have used brand name adderall for several years before.... and I was doing excellent, but because of financial issues it was impossible for me buy such an expensive drug for a while..... then the adderall Barr generic was performing as good as brand for several years, but not anymore. I believe that when I start taking back the brand name Adderall, my life will get stabilized. I can't wait for it.

"Teva/Barr were always great till recently, when Teva bought Barr and since them all goes wrong (especially in the last 4 months) Teva has been changed. My pharmacist told me the company including the name were sold. He described my symptoms: tired, queasy, no energy. He said he has reported 25 cases to the FDA. (sep 2016)"

"Corepharma adderall were horrible .....these companies manufacturing are oversees, and they are always changing formulas without care or concern like they're all the same."

Actavis has been on recall in October 2016

Sandoz is discontinued

Corepharma, aurobindo, mylan, Mallinckrodt - doesn't work for me, I tried it all.

Can you please inform me what the Teva Adderall looks like such as color & shape? Thanks for sharing!

Kimberly, as far as I know Teva generic Adderall is orange in color, oval shape, and the NDC # (for the 20mg) is 00555-0973. Teva also makes a generic form of Adderall extended release through Actavis generic division.

I don't know if you can post a link or not on the site but you can just google teva adderall in whatever MG you are looking for. They tend to look like little footballs except for the 15mg ones.

I'm desperately trying to find Sandoz Generic for my 6 year old. He's done amazing on this brand and up until October he was on it, now they've discontinued! We tried the TEVA brand COR130 and it's made his last few months absolutely horrible. :(

It's not completely ideal, but the Focus Fury 30 Neutropic is a decent mitigator if you're switching generics, end up with a super s***y refill, or run out early. Obviously it's not perfect and varies among people, but, now that my pharmacist can't seem to get any Sandoz variety lately, bouncing between the other versions has been making me incredibly irritable and distracted ALL the time. #Squirrel...

I've taken IR 10mg (x6) Sandoz for about a year after struggling through the (b372)s for 3 years. With the Sandoz I wasn't depressed, my insomnia went away, and I could function like a normal human being, and I got to retain some of my creativity and i stopped being allergic to every I ate. I'm really freaking out about them being discontinued because this (AD10) I settled for last month from CVS has been giving me headaches, taking forever to activate and then it's still really unpredictable in terms of duration and gives me gnarly headaches. In full disclosure, the Sandoz had been pretty spotty the last few months too though. Is the backlash against the junkies ruining it for us all?

My Nov. 2016 script was filled at CVS. I noticed that the 10 mg tab IR dextroemphetamine labeled Barr was a lot thinner & smaller than the one I use to get from Walgreens. I took two tabs right away & i noticed that in 5 minutes I was feeling so sleepy loopy & extremely fatigued. Please note I've been on this drug for 16 years for brain injury. I confronted the pharmacist telling him that what he gave me is Adderall not Dextroamphetamine sulfate. We bickered back & forth but refused to replace it. CVS has incompetent employees as they have done this to me 2x in a row. I was utterly shocked that most of them have no clue about the difference between the two. He also said that I am the only one who complained about the difference. I responded that is becoz most of their clients are not taking them themselves instead they are sold out to the street.
