Adderall Manufactured By Teva Not Working (Page 37) (Top voted first)
UpdatedI have had two refills of Adderall 20 mg that was manufactured by Teva/barr (Teva) and it seems to have much less medication in each pill. Refills by another manufacturer work. This is ridiculous, and where do we report Teva and who can check each pill for amount for medication? I would gladly donate some of my worthless ones to the FDA?
Try the Core Brand. Rite Aid Pharmacy carries them or maybe will order them.
you should look up how Actavis who owns Teva merged w ARG. They're all out of Israel. When u read about just the business side of these pharmaceuticals, it's not hard to see where they could benefit from ripping us off. 41% of their business comes from the US.
Listen I have submitted a report to the FDA for the specific lot I filled for Teva/Barr 20 MG filled from a pharmacy out of NYC. First of all someone wrote that the company is now Actavis? That is not being accurately reported on the bottle which is fraud.
Are you sure about this? Every consumer has the right to return something he didn't request. I usually get Teva but in 30 MG, 20mg is a far cry.
I would suggest you all report to the FDA as I have. They will ask for the NDC #, the Lot# all of which you can get from the pharmacy. They will ask you to provide brand name.
BTW, if you use a private pharmacy or a major pharmacy call twice to obtain the expiration date. I had one pharmacy rep say expiration 2018 and another 2017.
That is why I asked the person who made comment about the new manufacturer not being Teva but Actavis.

Everyone knows the URL for the FDA submission of drugs right?
which ones are they now? the pharmacists don't acknowledge that there have been recalls. it's ridiculous.
I put on here everything I read. Actavis owns Teva. Actavis merged with ARG (can't remember the name). The pharmacist told my mom one lot is only like a box which I don't think he has a clue. I've worked in factories and a box is never referred to as a lot. nevertheless he didn't give my mom the lot number and said if there were any recalls he'd know about it. Funny we all do; why aren't they being alerted to this? I think it's all about money.
Actavis owns Teva you say since when? Listen Actavis sells its own 30 and 20 mg adderall which are horrible... Teva has their respective adderrall (not the same). Anyway, i need more info on this merger.
The majority of drug shortage information is provided to the FDA by manufacturers. Communication between FDA and the public is an essential component of preventing and mitigating drug shortages. To ensure information is current, FDA appreciates all information and updates about shortages provided by manufacturers. Shortage notifications and updates may be reported to FDA at [email protected].
I had tachycardia too with Tevabarr. That is apparently the only brand Publix carries now in FL. I thought I was having a heart attack a couple of times. The stuff feels like some kind of cheap poisonous illicit speed. Something is VERY wrong. Who carries Corepharma or Atavaris in FL? Walgreens?
Couldn't agree more that something is up. Went to Walgreen's which is unusual for me but in my mind "it's a generic that's been around forever so who cares..." What's in a generic anymore? I had started taking COREPHARMA - Walgreen's filled with BARR (specific, not TEVA if that makes any difference I have no clue.)
I found BARR 10mg IR to be jumpy and cause me to be confused cloudy and disoriented. This is garbage. COR I feel the exact effects I am supposed to "feel," i.e., whatever normalcy is.
I take Adderall 10mg IR in the AM and maybe that or half of that at lunchtime and in the PM, say 15/20 mg and I sleep like a rock. So if you are reading this understand that my reaction may be specific to the paradox.
NONETHELESS - nothing deemed medicine should make you feel like crap - to Walgreen's which I am so used to slamming that I should point out - they helped me get the medication that worked for me* and worked with my provider and insurance company so it truly couldn't have been easier. I know this must have been a unique experience with the nicest / only human who works at Walgreen's or CVS - BUT - hey.
Fight for your right to feel normal - even if that's "what makes you feel better" or nobody else will do it for you. Be demanding - do not ever take no in the 2016 medical world - seek help and get a second opinion - if that is medication - seek it and seek answers as to why you need it and what alternatives there are. (Just advice from my doctor that might be relevant.)
I agree. Absolute rubbish and a complete rip off.
Call FDA! I did. You can fill out a Med watch Form. Its total crap. I called them and i called Teva because I cant even find another option
I called Shire the original manufacturer of adderall and they started me toward Teva for the instant release. I called Rite Aid pharmacy on the advise of Sandoz and was told they could special order the Sandoz brand. While speaking with the pharmacist she advised me that TEVA was the name brand of the Instant Release Adderall. That is hard to believe that one of the brands I am having problems with is actually considered the name brand unless they are using two formulas. The Teva I have has B974 on it. It is not working its only a little bit more tolerable than Core or Aurobindo. I have noticed a couple of hours after taking it my mouth and eyes are burning and my ears are ringing. I have not been able to obtain the Sandoz brand but was told that Rite Aid would try to do a special order for it. If this fails I will have to go back on the XR and use the Shire brand that I know works. I have done the FDA med watch but that probably won't do anything. If anyone has had the side effects listed above, please respond.
Yes, I have had the same response with the burning eyes, severe dry mouth and total space outness to were I cannot think straight to save my life. My body aches and I feel as though I have the flu on top of everything else. Not good. Im worried about not being able to get decent generic adderall. I had Costco order me the Sandoz and its very weak. The pharmacies try to tell you that its all the same, but it isnt.
I am taking 4 10mg tabs adderall morning ,,20 afternoon, and 10 in the evening, mine is suppose to come from Sandoz Pharm. However over the last year I can just sleep right through my adderall. All other medical problems have been addressed and ruled out , so I am trying to figure out what they have done to the adderall.
Shires patent don't end until I believe 2017. I will be getting it from a small family owned pharmacy. But if you have a Rite Aid pharmacy were you live they will order it for you.
@Izzy (Post #180),
Not sure what you are asking with "Teva Name Brand Adderall IR is a proper formulation with Brand standardization." Teva product would be a generic of brand Adderall. Seems that Shire also had an agreement with Teva and Impax to supply them with generic Adderall, but Shire and Impax also had legal issues, so not sure what happened there. No surprise. I've been in pharmaceuticals for 25 years, and pharma has become a juggling act. Nothing is stable anymore. It would take hours of research to get a perfect conclusion to generic Adderall.
With everything I have read about users on Sanofi's generic Adderall, everyone had good results with Sanofi generic, that is the one I will continue to recommend for my son. If it's a problem, I'll be back on Mr/s. Google. ;-)
I personally have never cared for Teva Pharma and I don't know a thing about this Impax who Shire was supposed to be supplying product.
Not sure how much time you want to spend researching this, but this is a good website. You can get more information from the actual label, including who manufactured a product and where; who is distributing it; etc.

I spoke to Shire Pharmaceuticals and they advised me that TEVA produced the name brand 30mg IR Adderall. I was never advised of this when I presented my prescription for Adderall. I was always given generic with the B 974 logo. I found out yesterday that appeared to be the old Barr brand. I have been having allergic reactions to this pill and did not realize it was the problem until I stopped it for 2 days and used some pieces of the old Activist. My problem disappeared. I am talking about the burning eyes and burning mouth syndrome. I have tried to talk to TEVA to see if their Name Brand that had DP 30 logo contained the very same active and inactive ingredients. They would not say. They referred me to their web site which list some things and just says other ingredients. When I found out they brought Activist I told them to don't go messing up their formula like theirs, even though Activist had problems which resulted in a recall at the end. I think that beside the inactive ingredients one needs to look at the list of Active contents TEVA list it contains, not just the word Amphetamine . Every one is different but the TEVA B 974 will not produce a clear mind to concentrate and now I find that my medical problems started 5/2016 the month I was put on this brand. For me I could tolerate the pill a little better than CORE or AURBINDO but it has medical issues from some of it's ingredients. I know the Shire Brand works at least it did 2 years ago. It just prevents me from getting sleep from being long acting. If you run across a orange pill with logo AD 30 that will be when SHIRE produced that formula. It is no longer registered with the FDA.
I don't know why Shire would be saying Teva manufactured (and would then be the patent holder) Adderall 30 mg XR. Even Teva's website refers to their product as a generic version:
tevagenerics.com/product/dextroamphetamine-saccharate-amphetamine-aspartate-dextroamphetamine-sulfate-and-amphetamine-sulfate-extended-release-capsules-cii
Generics must have the same active ingredients as the Brand Name, but inactive ingredients/fillers can be different. Regarding Generic being allowed a 20% difference from Brand (from jckinswo), I have seen so many different numbers/percentages on this, I'm not sure which one is really correct. I think the 20% is the one I see the most.
However, that 20% does not refer to the formulation. It refers to bioavailability, which basically means how much of the active ingredient actually reaches the bloodstream and the rate and extent of absorption. Which still is not a great thing when it comes to mind altering drugs and many other drugs treating serious conditions. If only 80% of the active ingredient in a particular generic reaches the bloodstream, they might as well call it as it is - you are only getting 80% of the active ingredient.
