Adderall Manufactured By Teva Not Working (Page 12) (Top voted first)

I have had two refills of Adderall 20 mg that was manufactured by Teva/barr (Teva) and it seems to have much less medication in each pill. Refills by another manufacturer work. This is ridiculous, and where do we report Teva and who can check each pill for amount for medication? I would gladly donate some of my worthless ones to the FDA?

During the last two months I've been given TEVA 20 mgs and 5mgs to total 25 mgs twice a day. TEVA used to be the only generic Adderall over the last year or so that worked for me. These last two months's worth of meds have been useless. I am going to discuss with my doc and the pharmacist to see if I can prescribed Ritalin since TEVA is like taking a placebo. Thanks for your opinions and your advice.

IMHO I believe many on this excellent forum may be mis-informed. TEVA is in a Lot of legal trouble, (that goes as far back as 2012), it reached it peak with many AG's in the USA for both Adderall I/R, (all mg versions) for a guilty plea of "price-fixing" + a huge walkout of Teva executives, from US division of Teva (Israel). Why? many reasons 1. Greed & Corruption 2. collaboration with other C-II stimulants mfgs 3. Teva laid off tens of thousands of employess, not only in USA but worldwide. The Dexedrine Spansule "Generic" was discontinued, in late 2016. mfg by Barr, The current Adderall I/R any mg, have the same logo BUT the USA Sherman Act caused Teva to sell out 100% of their rights to mfg Adderall generic I/R, + the brand name has long been discontinued. Finally, I had 3 or 4 GC/MS tests run on Adderall, in late 2016, & 2017, and the "Bioavailibility" not regulated by FDA was loaded with fillers, binders and excipitents, (this slows down the way the body breaks down, the active ingredient of the 4 different amphet salts. Verified by GC/MS chemists outside the USA, (Very expensive to employ) UK costs me over US 1,200.00, Chemist friend at Glasglow Scotland, also did it for me late 2016, for a bartering trade, (lost touch with him since Mar of 2019, also a lab near Barcelona Spain, matched the exact ingredients, as the UK in 2017 for the Addy I/R. Remember there is a huge difference in bioequivalence (FDA rule) and the bioavailability, Informed sources in the medical field, informed me, the dee e A, was responsible for half of this, they want, from a Forensic Psychiatrist, who was actually audited, & raided by these swelled head govt officials, in this MD's opinion, the dee e A wants & promotes the composition of more buffers, and, fillers to weaken the original patented Richwood Adderall (1994) which was purchased from Obetrol, patented in the 1960's, in 10mg & 20 mg, for, nearly 40 yrs, (div of Rexar Pharmacal Corp) was even stronger, from 1965 until 1974 with 2 methamphetamine salts, + Dextroamphetamine sulfate + base Amphetamine sulfate. The unofficial goal by my now retired Psychiatrist, says the desire is for USA agencies, to on purpose, to dilute all instant release C-II stimulants, somewhat radically, to switch over all patients, (even the honest ones who have Narcolepsy or ADHD to the long, slower acting, ER types, again in collusion with the higher prices of the ER versions.

Part of this agenda most unfortunately, was the era of, approx yr 2000 to 2010, when the 16 to 24 age grade school & college students "without ADD or Narcolepsy, abused the drugs, as, the success peaked in official numbers especially in the USA. Sorry to inform you we with bona fide ADD, ADHD, Narcolepsy, or even off label treatment resistant depression, now have to pay a big price. Finally, even the national USA pharmacies, (I refrain from naming them for fear of lawsuit) are scamming customers, knowing the poorest quality of the generics, can be slam-ducked into a cheap, say Adderall, I/R or E/R and get away with this. These facts from my wall of test, are a fact, as I have seen this happen in the past fro my first high quality SKF Dexedrine Spansule, AWP for 90 were only less than US one dollar each in the year 1969. 5 mg high quality dexedrine e-19 were cheap as chips, as were "obetrol" It is true the diet pill craze ruined it, from the mid 70's until the early 1990's, until, scientists, Halloween, Ratley, both M.D's and Russel Barkley, opened up the doors that adults can have A.D.D for life. IMHO, now meaning the here and now, the USA, Canada, UK, and Australia, has been set back right back 45 years, back to the mid 1970's, Believe me the majority of Redbook and Truven Analytics online versions of generic ADHD stimulants, are no where as potent, in the past 3 yrs or more, compared to the golden years of Richwood brand Adderall, ShireUS Adderall, or, even before than, SKF.SKB/ and ultimately, GSK, (all dextroamphetamine pure) are now long gone, as, the original Dextrostat, all brand names, that is a easy to prove with a GC/MS device. Those who missed the 1960's have no clue what they missed with the now long out of production of Abbott Desoxyn, Desbutal, or the Biphetamine by Fisons and earlier Penwalt, or even Giegy Preludin, because I am old enough to have been prescribed those dinosaurs, I now struggle like many of you, and pay the moon, for, the best quality of a add Med I can find, with the few independent pharmacies, as few are left. IMHO, also run as fast as you can from worldwide Actavis products, as, this once huge international corp, is also falling apart. (just read, either wiki, or order a Dun & Bradstreet report, on them. Teva may be next, IDK for certain, but, they may fall like Ranbaxy of India, (USA wise)

(sorry not edited for spelling errors, and some of my many sources, such as Martindale, (London UK) to, many Redbooks,, Medicines Complete, (by the Royal Pharmaceutical Society of Great Britain, or Truven Analytics, (online only) and dozens of old PDR's, to chemists associates (the few who have not retired) and wedinos dot org, (Don't waste your $$ on DDL labs Sacramento, CA or the faith that the FDA will really protect you with their 80/120 rule).

I would like to share something with the group.

I take Teva generic Adderall IR 30MG,

I noticed something unusual about the tablets that I have never noticed.

Some of the tablets had the -30- upside down.. relative to the front of the tablet.

I counted how many tablets were like this, and there were 13.

With narcolepsy this makes it very dangerous when I have x-rays and doctor appointments to go to.
I can take one and I fall right asleep on them. I need to know what to do or what else will work. I have never had a problem before. If you or anyone can find out any information please let us know.

Sry brother what ur going through isnt your fault. You definitely have more experience than most i know of.I saw bottle of lies and i believe the elements.The struggle is real from either trying to focus or trying to stay awake this is a serious problem that can cause dangerous scenarious for either.Fda should act.

Please find out what medicine will take the place of Adderall better as I have to drive to all my appointments and I ha be narcolepsy and I just fall asleep on them. Half of the Teva brand (the orange football) have the numbers and letter have been upside down in the same script. What is going on. I need medicine now as like I said, I have narcolepsy and have several appointments and x-rays coming up again and this is very very serious and dangerous for me. I leave a letter stating that this adderall does not work on my table so they can call my lawyer if something should happen to me and get to the bottom of this. This is no game!! This is very dangerous for me. I made it very clear for my lawyer to a full investigation on my narcolepsy medicine because they are not working and half of them have the numbers and letter upside down. I want to know what is going on

Teva is now lannett, teva was bought out, I figure that’s why the recent batch was crap. I switched to alvogen, works great! When I got my script I told the pharmacist what happen and he told me that if I have any issues to come back and let them know. Try telling your pharmacist or doctor.

I am having the exact same problem, it's horrible. They don't work and are so different than ever before. There is basically a reverse effect, can't focus, tired and unmotivated. It's effecting my job. Not sure if there is even anything that can be done now that I picked them up and tried them.

I just got Zydus which made me feel like garbage and kept me awake at night, and the Teva I received felt like I didn't take anything at all. The Alvogen that everyone complains about at least worked. Now I'm trying to get that one because even though I know it's not that great, at least it worked for me. Why are these generics so terrible? How is this even ok? It's so frustrating.

The pharmacists are no longer allowed to say that the brands are equivalent to one another that has caused problems with the lower manufacturers like Linnette and SUN / aurobindo pharmaceuticals

I agree. Something is wrong with this months medicine. I feel so tired and I take enough to know how it is. I said from first dose that this month is going to suck. They even have a different taste.

So very true! The sad thing is the FDA is not going to do anything about it. They continue to allow these big Pharma's to mess with people's minds and well being. I'm going to have a lab test my pills however to see what is in them....if I had to guess, a lot of fillers!

Glad I found this thread. I had a bad batch of Teva around 2007, since then it was good until this month when I got it again. I wonder why it fluctuates?? You think you can trust a brand then this happens. Someone told me they think quality is bad lately because with COVID the FDA postponed factory inspections? Anyway does anyone know how I can bring this up with the pharmacy the next time I pick up my RX without sounding drug seeking. Just to say, can I switch back to the generic I was getting before this? Ugh I don’t wanna get treated poorly just for asking but I really hate this Teva a lot!! I tried calling another pharmacy Over the phone to see if they had a certain manufacturer and they wouldn’t confirm

March, 2022:....I have had the same experience; Teva used to be the best choice of generic Adderall. I began using it again last month after being off of it for a few years. Not only is it ineffective, but creates extreme anxiety; makes me want to grind my teeth.
Now I have paid for three months worth of 30 mg. pills which I cannot use.

Hi. Wondering which generic/s worked for you. TEVA, Aurobindo, Lannett and now Sandoz have just been month after month of hell for me. Was hopeful this month would be different when I my pharmacist said they could fill with Sandoz. The effects and therapeutic value is equivalent to a glass of water. The only positive was I did not experience any side effects. I experienced nothing at all. I have laid down too easily gone to sleep after taking my morning dose which is two 20mg instant release. All other months it's headaches, shaking ass, racing thoughts w/complete lethargy in body, very depressed, easily agitated and very irritable, no ability to focus or hyper-focus on something for hours and achieve nothing, etc. Hoping you might have a manufacturer to suggest. Thanks

Teva generic Adderall worked very well a few years back; was able to focus and achieve for about 4 hours; now is effective for about 1-2 hours.
