Adderall Backorder (Page 82)

I take generic Adderall 20 mg for narcolepsy and there is not one local pharmacy that has it in stock. I have never had this problem before. The pharmacies are saying that it's on backorder from the manufacturer. Is anyone else having problems getting their scripts filled?

Just great. It's been over two weeks since I had my Adderall script. No luck. Today pharmacist said that the manufacturing company reached it's limit and cannot send any more Adderall out this year. What to heck????

The DEA sets quotes for active ingredients of Schedule II drugs each year. The DEA has continued to decrease the quotas each year. Manufacturers will be allowed less active ingredients for stimulants in 2023 than they have in past years. Patients need to start putting a few pills back each month to prepare for the end of 2023.

Pharmacies have no say over which manufacturers their drugs come from. That is up to each warehouse.

Besides, they know what brand they typically get.

Its been 4 months since i got a refill my last full refill was in August. I understand the back order.. But i don't understand how they aren't getting ANY supplies. My doctor keeps sending scripts and the pharmacist keeps telling me it's backordered. I don't care about the brand or appearance. ah long as it's Amphetamines. Hard to believe not a single manufacturer has been able to send 30 pills to my CVS

it hasn't been easy getting a paper script with covid. I've started calling manufacturers to see which ones have them available so i can ask CVS to order from them lol Don't need much I'll be happy with 15 days worth. So let's see how that goes

and yet 4 months later not even 30 pills made it to my pharmacy.. I'm just trying to understand the issue. I've called a few places and theyre telling me the producers have no supplies available to send them. That's not a Shortage, that's a complete drought ??

It is not uncommon for Schedule II drugs to be in short supply or run out towards the end of the year. The DEA controls the amount of active ingredients manufacturers are allowed each year. The DEA has been steadily decreasing the amount in recent years. Manufacturers will be allowed less active ingredients in 2023 than they were in 2022

I live in the Philadelphia area myself, and I've had no issues finding Sandoz brand Adderall from one of my local CVSes the last several months.

I live in Louisiana. A friend of mine takes Adderall. She has not had any problems getting her prescriptions filled at Walgreens. Where a person lives often seems to play a role in access.

I was able to get 30 of 30mg IR once again from CVS in Jacksonville, FL. Pharmacy employee even told me on the phone that they weren't currently backordered for them. Nor was brand XR 30mg.

I also checked with my regular pharmacy who was supplying Rhodes as of Oct and they were still all out.

I'm not sure if you're aware, but there's a distribution link between supplier and pharmacy. Local availability is going to depend on which distributor you're pharmacy is able to access. Most of the chain retailers, as far as I understand, are contracted with distributors. I also read that there may be some allocation going on so if you're in a rural area with only one CVS and they're not able to get anything, you might want to have your doctor check with other pharmacies around town, as they're the only ones who can call the pharmacists and find out what medications are immediately available. If you're using a telehealth doctor, your issue isn't with stock availability. (:

Well its a CVS in Southern CA, the Los Angeles area. The generic changed every few months last year. Ive had all kinds of markets over the past year. I guess I'll find out in a few days if they get anything in. Fingers crossed

Yep. Walmart has had mine on back order for over a month. I’m on 30MG extended release generic.
