Adderall Backorder (Page 76)
UpdatedI take generic Adderall 20 mg for narcolepsy and there is not one local pharmacy that has it in stock. I have never had this problem before. The pharmacies are saying that it's on backorder from the manufacturer. Is anyone else having problems getting their scripts filled?
Re: BlessedLady (# 1497)
Obviously. A big DEA drug bust of fake Adderall making headlines puts the meds manufacturers and the DEA under greater scrutiny.... They are going to investigate supplies of Adderall Nationwide and randomly test for impurities and foul play. Almost guaranteed.
"makers of the drug don’t blame excess prescriptions for the short supply. According to Teva, the US’s biggest producer of Adderall, the problem is due to labor shortages, which have caused delays in production and packaging. The US government also limits the amount of drugs each company can produce, and the pharmaceutical firms are advocating for an increased allowance."

Found my Adderall this month on the first pharmacy I tried, this month. :)
Last month I was driving around for hours.
Maybe I just got lucky, but best of luck to yall out there, too.
I reside in Louisville, KY and all of the pharmacies are out of every dose of this medication, generic and brand name included. This is my first time in all of the years that I have been prescribed this medication that this has happened. I reported this to my physician, and currently waiting on a return call from her. Hopefully she will prescribe something else in the interim, until this issue is fixed.
Re: Diane B Madrid (# 2)
Since Ritalin is effective in treating children, it is non effective in treatment of ADHD in adults. I am waiting for my provider to find an appropriate substitute to E-Script to my pharmacy.
Re: Kelly (# 1505)
Who told you Ritalin is not effective in adults with ADHD ? The person that told you that lied to you. Most adults respond better to other medications but Ritalin is effective for some adults. If a doctor told you Ritalin is not effective for adults. It sounds like the doctor is lying because he/she does not want to prescribe you stimulants or tell you the truth. It sounds like this doctor does not know more than the basics about ADHD or treating it.
Re: tim (# 1503)
Wow and congrats! I and probably all of us on here know what a challenge and a headache obtaining can be.
I finally found a partial fill on my Adderall. Not only did I only get 70 of 120 pills (accepted them) but they were falling apart old. I then get the information from the pharmacy that I usually use that they could get my meds again. I have no luck. I took the partial fill because I was going out of state to AR to see my aunt and uncle. I had to come home because my Mom got sick while we were there. I took to many trying to get them to work so you can imagine where I am at now. I am very angry with myself. Hope that this means next fill will be easier.
Re: Sassylady (# 1485)
The 30 mg are slightly better but still inadequate
Re: Rcma (# 1488)
I don't think 40 mg is too high a dose. Especially with these new generics. Regardless of what your scientific research has said
Re: Rcma (# 1490)
If I could focus, I could answer you but I cannot focus.
And what good is it to get poor quality meds at Walmart when you can get poor quality meds without waiting.
I am probably going to give up. I don't know what I would have done if Hurricane Ian had hit here.
Die, I guess.
Re: Cyr (# 1511)
COSTCO! You don't have to be a member and they have them 95% of the time! Use goodrx app or site to see prices. They way often are under my insurance. Good luck and try it.
Re: Cyr (# 1511)
A few points of clarification for all who may be confused by misinformation on this space.
1. This public information thread/forum is not a private messaging app for bilateral communication.
2. The Supreme Court case about the NH generic manufacturer means that UNLESS THEY BOTCHED UP THE RECIPE, a generic company cannot be held liable for adverse side effects or reactions associated with the FDA Approved Brand drug. It's a narrow opinion as I see it. If they lace thier generic with poison then of course they have liability. Simple.
3. Walmart is the #3 seller of pharmaceuticals nationwide. If CVS and Walgreens can't meet your need due to no supply...try Walmart. Period. Any pharmacy in one State or region does not represent the national supply. Walmart buys in larger quantities than many chains due to Volume discounts, sector leverage, and storage capacity.
3. It you ACTUALLY KNOW you are incapable of focusing due to your ADHD, then consider refraining from posting rather than typing unhelpful garbage. Just a thought.
4. IF you are experiencing anger or depression. Suicidal ideation, or emotional trauma due to Adderall shortages or poor quality meds, perhaps it's a good idea to inform your doctor. Yes. It's a terrible situation for those who need meds, and it can be depressing or infuriating. Seeking professional help is perhaps prudent. Pondering about dying in a natural disasters because Lannett isn't locally available might be considered "inappropriate affect" considering the actual loss of life, and mass destruction being triaged.
Re: tim (# 1503)
What pharmacy did you go to, and did they have them in stock or have to special order them? And what brand?
Re: Davemp88 (# 1514)
I just picked up my script from Walgreens. Teva 30mgs to me there the best generic. Have like a sweet taste. I always get teva. A company called lannett has same exact generic looking as teva, the only difference is lannett has a “e” instead of ‘b’ like teva and no sweet aftertaste . People think they’re getting Teva when first eyed when you peak inside the bottle.
Lannett is the not good according to a friend, not the worst but not as good as Teva. I been on 30mgs for 6 years always Teva. Although there was a month I got sandoz which I liked
I went back to my old pharmacy after 3 months. They had told my husband that they could get my medicine again when he was in there picking up a prescription for my son. I was skeptical because the past few months I have not had any medicine. I can not tolerate the way they treat me when I have to look for the medicine. I get angry because I cannot function well without them. I do not like to be treated like a junky and that is the way it feels to me. The pharmacy I go to doesn't treat me that way. They delivered the medicine and it was Teva brand. I had gotten the partial fill before I went to visit my Aunt. They never mentioned that at all.
YAY!!!
Re: Debbie M in California (# 1516)
You will have to get a new prescription for the remainder because Adderall is a Schedule II drug..
Re: BlessedLady (# 1517)
I had the prescription in since July and they filled it and I also had two months hard copies in my wallet for past two months and the one the doctor called to Walgreens. I think I had the prescription part covered.
Re: Debbie M in California (# 1518)
They might have filled the one with the most recent date. There are laws governing how long Schedule II prescriptions are valid for. Some states are only a short time and others can be 6 months to a year. It is Always best to know federal laws and your state laws regarding prescriptions. Especially when you take a Schedule II drug
Yes. I am. Last month, I called 6 pharmacies before I was able to find it at Kroger. Now, I cannot find it anywhere. I read somewhere that said issue was resolved. No it's not. I could not find it anywhere yesterday. This is just totally ridiculous. FDA should not put limits on the amount of controlled substances manufactured, especially with something that has increased in demand. I have been on Adderall forever....and it just affects people who need the medication .
