Adderall Backorder (Page 75)

Updated

I take generic Adderall 20 mg for narcolepsy and there is not one local pharmacy that has it in stock. I have never had this problem before. The pharmacies are saying that it's on backorder from the manufacturer. Is anyone else having problems getting their scripts filled?

As far as walgreens who told me for a week its coming ... then told me they don't know when? Well sorry, it is your responsibility if you're going to sell it to you're devoted customer that showed up every month following all rules just as they expect... but their attitude? Is oh well ... Go to another pharmacy which you're not supposed to per our contract! I am an RN and patients have rights! Where are the people to protect us from this happening? And i guarantee the price will be raised! Who monitors this every month to help make sure this doesn't happen? EVER! THE SAD PART they told me they are telling everyone to ask their physician to change their med temporarily? What?

Dr to put on something different! This would be there responsibility if they selling to you and you're paying that pharmacy to know what they need to do ! Once you hand me a pamphlet that states "do not stop abruptly" then what does it mean when they don't even follow the med recommendations? But the gov lets them get away with this? Where are our rights? Where is our protection... to not fear losing our jobs or homes bc we went a month without? Not counting the physical toll it takes on a persons mind & body? Or the person who relapses after being put on adderall bc they were just misdiagnosed ... They weren't a drug addict they just didn't have the right med!!!! And you finally feel worthy, confident, organized yr career skyrockets ... you haven't had an accident or speeding ticket since being put on this med! 9 yrs!!!! And then they say sorry? With no warning? And i don't hear gov stepping in? No one cares? It changed my entire life! But month after month the fear is there!

Blessed Lady, do you work for the DEA? You write much about what they are doing.

Central Market in San Antonio substituted their normal Lannet Adderall 30 mg with Mallinckrodt due to supply issues.

Picked up script and immediately noticed the change. My thoughts initially were this was going to be a very bad month.

Bottom line is the Mallinckrodt was so unbelievable awful- headaches, spaciness, dry mouth, stomach issues, etc- I lasted 4 days and called the pharmacist. Same old story, "I have no control what is bought by our pharmacy distributor. " I told her I could not make it through the month as I'm a University Professor and I was struggling with my lectures.

I was able to get my Doc to authorize pharmacy to find an alternative. They found Epic (old Corepharma) in one of their stores. The process of disposal of a Schedule II is on the customer as the retailer - by law- cannot take the meds back. After going back to my Doc to get another hard copy script ,went back to retailer who refused to take meds back. Doc was concerned as they have to ensure the old meds are destroyed properly or he could be flagged by the DEA. So how are these Epic 15mg tablets? Better. Not great but not having any side effects- and they at least have some efficacy....what a nightmare.

I just want to say that my most recent prescription of Adderall by TEVA (9/15/22) is absolute garbage. Doesn't work at all. They're 20mg tablets. So, today I decided to take 2 and see if it'd help. NOTHING. ABSOLUTELY NOTHING. I had Sandoz the month before and they were MUCH BETTER. I'm barely functioning. This is just ridiculous!! I'm losing all hope and am thinking I may as well get off of it altogether.

Increasing dosage of Adderall by 100% can have the opposite effect of what you're wanting. Known fact - too high a dose of can be counter-productive, and actually flood the pre frontal cortex with too much dopamine, causing foggyness, confusion, headaches, irritability, and mess up the autonomic nervous response to stimuli.... More isn't more with amphetamines. More is less.

The premise of your test was scientifically flawed.

So is this thread just about grievance using ALL CAPS and exclamation points? It was once a forum to relay information about shortages, availability and brand efficacy. May I suggest we not degrade this into a venting of anger and frustration? Nobody who is going without proper medication is happy.... But not everyone is screaming like a Martyr. Please folks, self control?

FROM what I scanned, you may be reading that incorrectly. If the generic manufacturer did not follow the original formula for the brand name drug proof by the FDA then the generic company would still be liable for damages for screwing up the recipe because they would essentially be putting out a different medication and calling it a generic. The FDA approved a brand name and when this company got an ANDA from the FDA, it submitted an application claiming it would replicate the brand name drug. From when I can see the Supreme Court is saying that if the generic medication correctly replicated the FDA approved drug then they cannot sue the manufacturing company. What this article does not say is whether the New Hampshire generic manufacturing company screwed up the formulation which is a very different story. I assure you that if that New Hampshire generic company was found to be using toxic heavy metals or accidentally tripled the dosage of an active ingredient it would be held liable for damages because they were selling a generic version of an FDA approved medication but actually manufacturing something very different and dangerous. See the difference?

The 2nd link is excellent. I am curious if the FDA enforces it! But YES.... BASED ON THIS,. SEND THE FDA YOUR COMPLAINTS AND GRIEVANCES, and that is empowering yourself to be part of the change you want to see.

"If the failure to meet CGMPs results in the distribution of a drug that does not offer the benefit as labeled because, for example, it has too little active ingredient, the company may subsequently recall that product. This protects the public from further harm by removing these drugs from the market. While FDA cannot force a company to recall a drug, companies usually will recall voluntarily or at FDA’s request. If a company refuses to recall a drug, FDA can warn the public and can seize the drug.

FDA can also bring a seizure or injunction case in court to address CGMP violations even where there is no direct evidence of a defect affecting the drug’s performance. When FDA brings a seizure case, the agency asks the court for an order that allows federal officials to take possession of “adulterated” drugs. When FDA brings an injunction case, FDA asks the court to order a company to stop violating CGMPs. Both seizure and injunction cases often lead to court orders that require companies to take many steps to correct CGMP violations, "

Your Walmart perhaps. The Neighborhood Market Walmarts give much better customer service than the superstores. In fact they are way better in my area than CVS. And if you are maintaining that supply isn't the problem but customer service is then how can you be so upset about lack of access to supply when you're actually saying that Walmart does not have a supply issue? This forum is about supply chain issues and availability not customer service and if it takes longer to get the prescription from Walmart then isn't that better than not getting it at all?

Perhaps THIS is part of why the supply chain has stopped.... 660,000 meth laced fake Adderall pills seized.

Feds seize record amount of methamphetamine-laced fake Adderall pills in Rhode Island
The seizure of more than 660,000 pills, with a street value of $4.6 million, is believed to be the largest seizure of methamphetamine-laced fake Adderall pills in the U.S.

You’re comparing apples and oranges.

A supply chain issue resulting in a shortage is a very, very different legal bag of burritos from manufacturers knowingly and willfully lying about the addictive nature of opioids.

Re: Davemp88 (# 1494) Expand Referenced Message

The new Sandoz. I truly believe that they are better than the TEVA I got filled on the 15th of September. I have to say that everyone's body processes drugs differently. What works for one person may not work for the other. Also, I only had 1 side effect on Sandoz,,,excessive sweating. With my newest prescription of TEVA I am nauseous and bloated. I'd rather sweat than feel sick to my stomach all day long. LOL. All of the Adderall produced in the past couple of years is absolute garbage. In 2019 and before you could get what I call a "true amphetamine ". I could take a quarter of a 20mg pill and fly for hours. I was organized and on top of everything. Then it started changing,,,ALL of the Adderall has been awful since then. It's sickening that no one manufacturers a decent Adderall pill. I have found the same problem with pain medication. I've had 2 major back surgeries and at first the pain meds were great. It's also been hit or miss since 2019. What also worries me is that I'm sure the same thing is happening with other medications like antidepressants. These manufacturers are "f****ing with people's mental and physical health. It's becoming scarier and scarier. God help us all in the coming years.

AFAIK the DEA/FDA restricts how much Adderall companies can produce in a given year (prior to that year). With all of the new Covid "long haulers", who often experience massive fatigue, likely adding additional need for stimulants, the DEA should stop being b****es and do something for those who -need- these medications. FFS.
