Adderall Backorder (Page 74)
UpdatedI take generic Adderall 20 mg for narcolepsy and there is not one local pharmacy that has it in stock. I have never had this problem before. The pharmacies are saying that it's on backorder from the manufacturer. Is anyone else having problems getting their scripts filled?
Re: Rcma (# 1457)
Actually, I haven't heard many here mention issues with CVS. Most of the people saying they can't find it seem to be having issues with Walgreens specifically, at least from what I've been reading here.
Re: tim (# 1461)
CVS is mentioned constantly.

Re: WhatNow (# 1446)
Sounds like the pharmacist has no idea how medicine works. You don’t just switch medication after years of taking it. I hate the stigma that comes along with adderall.
Re: Pizzaface Pete (# 1463)
I mean, I'm strongly considering talking to my doctor about switching to Dexedrine (as its pure dextroamphetamine, one of the two amphetamines that are used to create Adderall, it should be a fairly smooth transition). While I haven't been completely out at any point during this shortage like some people here, the recurring stress and anxiety leading up to my refill date is really starting to wear me down - and from what I'm hearing, things are going to be getting worse, not better, for the foreseeable future.
Although, I'll say this: While not really an issue for me, the main issue for many with trying to switch to Dexedrine (and especially Vyvanse) is that due to a lack of generics, the price can be way higher (and many insurances may refuse to cover it).
If I do decide to try switching, I'll hop back here and let you guys know the results. As someone who has been on a consistent Adderall prescription for over a decade now, I should make for an ideal test case lol.
I have called 4 walgreens near me and far away in Minnesota and they all are out of 30mg tablets.
Re: tim (# 1464)
There is definitely a generic form of Dexedrine.
Re: Pizzaface Pete (# 1463)
Some people have no problem switching from Adderall to similar medications. Switching between Adderall and Dexedrine shouldn't be a real problem, especially if it's temporary. Effectiveness is usually the issue and sadly, a big part of that problem again is the manufacturer. There's no apples to apples when it comes to generics.
Re: B (# 1453)
Have you tried any of the smaller pharmacies (non-chain) or even compounding pharmacies?
Re: Cyr (# 1459)
Walmart are #3 in USA and have HUGE clout with Wholesalers ...
In the world of Wall Street investors Walmart is known for probably being number one in the whole country for logistics which basically means making sure their shelves are full.
Re: Dp (# 1452)
I do the same thing. I'm worthless. I can't figure out if its mental or physical. I know it feels physical. But I often wonder if I can pull myself out of my funk. Nothing works so far.
Re: Emily (# 1470)
Figuring out health/mental/physical related stuff can be really tricky. Traditional and alternative practitioners oftentimes don't have the answers for the really unique stuff so it's on us to advocate and research for ourselves. I actually take Adderall because without it, I find it very difficult to engage with the outside world. Physical fatigue can be caused by diet stuff, but could be pathogens, or an actual condition like hypothyroidism or adrenal issues, etc. Good luck on your journey.

Which Sandoz? The original formula or new? What was the NDC #?
Re: Serena (# 1447)
Again we’re these the new Sandoz or old?
Re: Davemp88 (# 1472)
I'm unaware of any formula changes, but if you're talking about how Sandoz now has rounded pills instead of flat ones, I've had both and personally experienced no differences between the two - although, I'd say I'm less sensitive to genetic differences than others seem to be, fwiw.
Re: Ben (# 1)
I couldn't agree more but I believe it's done on purpose. Who do I hold accountable when i wreck my car or lose my job? I'm sick of this! 9 yrs! And they do this every couple of years yet pamphlet states DO NOT STOP ABRUPTLY! YET THEY ARE THE ONES DOING IT! DOESN'T THIS MAKE THEM LIABLE FOR ME LOSING MY JOB IF U KNOW A PERSON CAN'T GO WITHOUT?
Re: Christine (# 1475)
Legally, no. It does not.
Re: Rcma (# 1469)
Supply is not a problem with Walmart. Manpower is. Too many prescriptions, not enough pharmacists. Hence the long wait. This was before electronic transfer of prescriptions. I haven't been there is over 2 years so no idea if that has improved.
Re: Christine (# 1475)
The chain of causation, unfortunately, would be too difficult to survive summary judgment. Not to mention, corporate liability shields are pretty impenetrable - totally understand your frustration and wish there were some (any!) accountability for the incidents that arise pursuant to situations like this!

Re: Isobel (# 1478)
I'm wondering? Why is these states filing lawsuits getting billions for what they call an "opioid epidemic"? The government knew? They are making billions off methadone clinics in each town on top of being able to sue these pharma? We are the ones still suffering bc the epidemic isn't opoids, it's heroin and cartel which our government have allowed for decades to come thru! I have 70 y/o 80 y/o giving up and going hospice bc they have no choices? They either can't afford which gov is allowing or they cant get their meds when they are supposed to? What is wrong with this picture?
