Adderall Backorder (Page 39)

I take generic Adderall 20 mg for narcolepsy and there is not one local pharmacy that has it in stock. I have never had this problem before. The pharmacies are saying that it's on backorder from the manufacturer. Is anyone else having problems getting their scripts filled?

Some doctors require patients in school take a holiday from ADHD medications and some do not. A lot depends on how much a doctor knows about ADHD. It also depends on how it affects the patient, their age and if they are students.

Yes pharmacy keeps telling me out of stock and they keep attempting to order it. It’s been a week.

Yes I was only given a very small partial (3days).

Yes, I take a generic Adderall, 30 mg and Walgreens has had the prescription since October 12th. I called and they told me it was on back order. No other info except it a really popular med.

you can request a script for 10mg double dose to get your full dose if 10mg is avail. there may be an issue with insurance approving the number of pills, this happened to me when I waited 3 months for 30mg and my doctor sent in a different script for the same effective dose but in 10mg pills, the cost was high. I almost cried, until I looked up the goodRX cost and discount, since my insurance wouldn't cover the number of pills, it was over the limit, despite the 30mg never being an issue since I had to be given 3x's more....I wouldn't have been able to afford it without GoodRX, bc my insurance didn't seem to understand that was the only way I was able to get my medication, only 10mg was available after 3 months of waiting.... the cost went down about $300. Call your doctor tomorrow, then make sure to call the pharmacy to inform them if your doctor approves to do this, because my pharmacy automatically sent back a request for the prescription to be written in a way that my insurance would cover it, however, I stopped the process. Apparently, unbeknownst to me, the office of my doctor was very familiar with this practice and I had my prescription in less than 12 hours of my call to my doctors office.... the pharmacy is who provided me the tip...

No company makes the “name brand”- this has taken me months to finally sort out a straight answer from my pharmacist & it’s been a nightmare. Teva is technically the company who makes the name brand. I paid out of pocket for years for the Teva Rx which ranged from $78-$130. IR has been around $78 for a 60 pill @ 30mg supply for at least 2 years. I haven’t been able to get Teva for 3 months now with my pharmacy telling me that brand is on back order. Now, my CVS just said some of their stores have it in stock & the same refill will cost $258. I can’t tell if the issue is the pills are available but the price tag is high, or if they’re just not available at all.
The Sandoz generic I’ve been on for the last 2 months is basically like not being medicated at all. It’s been extremely difficult & my quality of life has plummeted.

Does anyone know of any pharmacies in MA, metro west area or Boston area, that has the 30mg teva brand adderall? I realize it’s a long shot, but can’t hurt to ask. Thank you in advance!

Use the app or site goodrx - type in your med, dosage and city and your results will yield about eight to ten pharmacies that have what you are looking for, BUT you have to call them to see their preferred brand. This has saved me hundreds or in the thousands if you count my other, more costly medications.

Everything is now Epic packaged and marketed by Lannett.

Teva is basically gone with their deal with Lannett.

I have had 6 scripts of this very close looking Teva 30mg tablet.

To be honest, they work as well or not better than Teva… for about 4 days.

This Adderall "want a be" is pretty crappy after 1st week. You will run short on your script each and every month because the efficacy is bad you have to almost double dosage.

Told my Doc and he upped my usual past dosage 1 additional pill. It has helped.

It has some of the right stuff in it but they seem to have missed completing the right ingredients.

Tell your Doc. Get him to up the dosage. They know!

There is no adderall shortage. Teva has tons of it. The issue is a Walgreen’s system issue where they can’t seem to order it. When I asked them they just keep saying we order it and it won’t go through and they don’t seem to care.

I always thought Barr manufactured Teva’s generic adderall ir.

If you look in the FDA Orange Book, it indicates they are still producing generic Adderall IR

Yes. My Walgreens has now said for three days it is on back order which isn’t the first time this has happened. What bothers me is Walgreens having no new date nor valid reason for this to happen.
My scripts are sent electronically which means I have to call my doctor to change my script because they are non transferable.
Walgreens referring their customers to other non Walgreens pharmacy seems like terrible business. This will be the last time I have anything sent to them because they are very unreliable. Ugh…

Nope, nothing for months with exception of 10mg IR. Still no 20mg or 30mg IR, ER, nada in Orange County, Ca. Also hear none in LA county either. A lot of people are either going without or changing to something else. Your pharmacy likely has its hands tied. My refill is usually 10-14 days late just to wait for 10mg tabs. Hope this helps
