Adderall Backorder (Page 40)

I take generic Adderall 20 mg for narcolepsy and there is not one local pharmacy that has it in stock. I have never had this problem before. The pharmacies are saying that it's on backorder from the manufacturer. Is anyone else having problems getting their scripts filled?

I believe they are phasing out (Teva) but the big chains can buy this Lannett for peanuts.

My cost on Lannett at my local supermarket is about 20% below Teva

When not having a Schedule II medication is due to the DEA quota and it is close to the end of the year or right after the first of the year. They are usually available in 4-8 weeks. But the problems the pandemic has caused might make it longer

yes, every person on earth is having a problem with getting their medications because teva and the binden leadership has chosen to not make more drugs. They ran out of money - they cannot pay for new pills. Welcome to your america

everyone will have a problem with widthdrawl It is a mandated procedure. With amphetamine I would not taper - I just it use as needed - witch means no I cannot take it anymore.

I have been waiting on my adderall 30mg since 10/15/21 and still nothing… no explanation as to when it will come in!! I can't wait to get on that class action bandwagon!! Walgreens needs to close its doors.

The DEA sets limits each year on Schedule II medications manufacturers can make. The DEA has been reducing this amount each year in recent years. That means less Adderall, Dexedrine, Ritalin, etc, brand as well as generic will be manufactured next year than in this year.

The press has mainly focused on opioids in recent years. But the active ingredients in Adderall, Dexedrine, Ritalin, etc are Schedule II and will be reduced for 2022. The link to comment on this reduction is below. There is a cutoff date for comments.

Have you explained the situation and asked your doctor to prescribe a different milligram ? It is common for doctors to prescribe different milligram when patients regular milligrams are not in stock, especially close to the end of the year. You might have to take two 10 mg or four 5mg at a time. But it is better than being without medication.

I also get mine filled at Walgreens (IR and XR, 30mg). I haven’t been able to get anything filled in about 3-4 weeks? I had luckily saved a few weeks worth because this has happened to me in the past a few times.

But my question is, what about other pharmacies? I assumed that the shortage is applicable to ALL PHARMACIES but I was just curious since you specifically mention Walgreens in this post.

From what I’ve experienced AND read online from others, it’s ALL DOSAGES of Adderall. Which makes sense. Beyond frustrating. These adderall shortages happen every so often (and I’ve been taking this since 2007).

I've found the chain pharmacies do not have them, but the mom and pop shop I go to just happens to. Maybe check a smaller/independent one? ???

How many pharmacies did you call and ask if they had your regular dosage and different dosages ? Did you ask to speak to the pharmacist ? Did you ask when they would be getting some in ?

This situation is frustrating and overwhelming. Have you tried independent pharmacies ? Often they have medications when chain pharmacies do not.

The only way you will know what a pharmacy has is for you to call them. There is no way another person knows what a particular pharmacy does and does not have. Have you tried independent pharmacies in your area ?

I know several people that take Adderall and other Schedule II medications for ADHD and other things. They call their pharmacies and ask to speak to the pharmacist. They tell them they will have their prescription in a few days and ask if they have enough medication on hand to fill it. If they do not, they ask the pharmacist to please order it.
