Adderall Backorder (Page 29)

Updated

I take generic Adderall 20 mg for narcolepsy and there is not one local pharmacy that has it in stock. I have never had this problem before. The pharmacies are saying that it's on backorder from the manufacturer. Is anyone else having problems getting their scripts filled?

I don't fill my Adderall script until the 29th day, every month and since becoming unemployed and having to go on state insurance Rite Aid Pharmacy in Connecticut, has been nothing but a pain. I just called to "make sure" everything was okay before I picked up my script, which was called in by my doctor 2 weeks ago, and they just told me that they are out of Adderall and won't be getting any in until Monday. It's currently Wednesday. So, I guess because I'm on a narcotic medication, I should be treated like s*** and refused my medication. I am so over this. I am 40 years old and have NEVER asked to refill my prescription early. I am filing a complaint this time.

I take generic adderall for ADD. Like so many other stories, it was a game changer for me in my mid 30's. CVS should be ashamed, but it's a big business and they can afford to not care. Last time I attempted to fill my script, I visited 11 CVS locations and heard the same story, "It was ordered and should come in by Friday." The local mom/pop pharmacies are much better, they care about their customers. All the other crap CVS sells can easily be found in other places for much less. I shredded my CVS extra care card and share my story with everyone I know. That's the best way to show CVS we care.

I will no longer spend any money at CVS asked if they have the oval peach 30 mg adderall and was told yes 2 month's in a row. The round peach was given last month and for a week I had a headache and couldn't focus. This month I get the round pink I had these before and they have no effect what so ever except migraines and my brain feels off like I'm literally take some other type of medication and am in a fog. If I can't get the original or genaric idk what I'll do. Other meds for ADHD either don't work or concerta literally put's me to sleep. If I have to go off ADHD meds completely I'm screwed. Since I was diagnosed 9 years ago my life has changed greatly no more snapping off on somebody cause they interupted the multiple thoughts rattling around in my head and zero car accidents or speeding tickets. The biggest change is I'm able to sleep like a normal person as before I would have so many things going on in my head I wouldn't sleep for days or when I did only a couple hours a day like bipolar I was constantly manic but never depressed.

I have no respect for the CVS I used to go to - Sometime in 2015 I realized that I didn't like taking 20mg of adderall because sometimes I don't need that much BUT I refuse to cut them! So, my doctor and I decided to try something else. He still gave me the 20mg but he also gave me a script for 10mg. I was already getting my 20's at the end of the month. He gave me the script for the 10's around the middle of the month. Long story short, I NEVER had anyone ask me why I had 2 adderall scripts and I got them filled with the same insurance for over 2 years! Anyway, in February of this year I had to get my 20's filled at CVS because my pharmacy didn't have enough to fill my script. I never knew anything about different generics until I got that one filled at CVS. They gave me the corepharma generic and I ended up liking it. For some reason I got the 10's at my pharmacy, convenient, I guess? I didn't like them anymore! I had been getting the same generic brand (TEVA) since I started taking them years ago! In March I had to get the TEVA 20's because the CVS didn't have enough of the generic I liked. I did get the 10's I wanted at CVS that month but when It was time to get my 20's filled I went to that same CVS and dropped off my prescription.

I wish I hadn't opened my big mouth but I had to ask if they had the coreph...they did so I left them there. I ended up getting a call from the pharmacist, a jerk!!! He overheard me ask if they had the generic I wanted. Well, he ruined my life that day!! He said people don't normally ask for a specific generic so he looked me up and noticed that I just had THE SAME ADDERALL prescription filled 2 weeks ago. That ***** didn't look at the amount (10mg) that I picked up 12 days ago, he just saw ADDERALL and immediately called my insurance that has been filling BOTH ADD scripts forever, without any questions! They let that little fool change the their rules! They even rejected my prescription even though someone had already filled it! When he made that call, they immediately stopped my prescription from being filled! Even though they had always filled them, and they had the nerve to reject the amount because the pharmacist said I just had it filled. They let him play GOD that day and I ended up paying $118 for it! And no, they won't give me my money back because their rules can change at anytime. After getting through that I am trying 30mg, they will not allow me to get the 10mg + the 20mg (2 cost more $$ for them) so I can only take the 30's. GREAT CUSTOMER SERVICE insurance and the little tattle tail at CVS!!!!

I forgot to add that I finally found a great generic for adderall - it’s corepharma generic brand - I lost a few last month and had to get a script for the amount I lost - I told my doctor last month about the corepharma generic - now he writes “needs corepharma generic” - When I went to get the prescription his assistant called the CVS that is close by and asked them SPECIFICALLY if they had the corepharma generic adderall - they said yes but when I picked it up (already driving home) I opened the bag and they gave me the mylan generic adderall - HUGE MISTAKE made by them and I have to pay for it!! Anyone know if CVS still carries the corepharma generic?

6/15/17 FL Central West Coast: Toward end of May when my small independent pharmacy finally got some generic 20 mg ir adderall to finish my Rx from 5/17/17 as they were short 18 tablets, I should have looked at them before leaving, but having dealt with them for all my Rx's for several years, I didn't, so Shame On Me, and shame on them for not informing me they filled it with those awful white Mallinckrodt that have absolutely no therapeutic benefit for either narcolepsy or ADHD. When I went today after picking up June's Rx, the pharmacist told me "Sorry, but that's all that is available now". It's now been 10 days off meds & l doubt I'll find anything else as these are small towns. I will not spend a dime on that junk. This sorely reminds me of 5 or 6 years ago after I had spinal surgery and either FDA or DEA shut down the only major distributor for C II pain medicines in FL, and IF you could find any at pharmacies, the price had skyrocketed for self pay from $33/120 to $370/90.

Corepharma stopped producing Adderall entirely at the end of May. If you find any, it will be an older stock. Most pharmacies these days are carrying Aurobindo and Teva. CVS seems to prefer Mylan and Malinckrodt.

guys here is how to take care of getting the generic manufacturer of adderall that you know already worked best for you. have your doctor write (for example) SANDOZ BRAND ONLY
OR TEVA BRAND ONLY
you fill in the blank and make sure you let your doctors know that (name manufacturer here ) is the only one that worked well for you
there problem solved

Hi Marcia (Ref: post #559 May 2, 2017):

I identify so well with your issues. Before I respond to your bottom line question, what am I to do? I just want to say I have been associated with the amphetamine, dextroamphetamine, and methamphetamine ethical pharmaceutical markets since the late 1960's, to this current year.

1. To focus on the topic of this thread, of what the public refers to as "Adderall Instant Release tablets, this product, was available at least since 1965 until at least 1973, as, "Obetrol" brand name by Obetrol Pharma Brooklyn NY USA with two sizes 10 mg and 20 mg tabs but, the original formulation contained, the superior, IMHO, for the 20 mg tabs, 5 mg of Methamphetamine Saccharate, 5 mg of Methamphetamine hydrochloride, 5 mg of Amphetamine Sulfate, 5 mg of the Dextroamphetamine Sulfate. Between 1974, and 1976, there was a change in the formulation, I have documentation, in my office, today, that, by the printing in 1977 of the 1978 PDR and 1978 REDBOOK, "Obetrol" 20 mg was changed until its last year of production, (1994) 16 years in a row, the formulation, was this: 5 mg of Dextroamphetamine, 5 mg of Amphetamine Aspartate, 5 mg of Dextroamphetamine Sulfate, and 5 mg of Amphetamine Sulfate all in instant release, all in this 20 mg tablet, peach color, embossed, "OP" US patent # 2,748,052 and NDC number for one bottle of 100 x 20 mg tabs was 00477-5432-01 mfg by Rexar Pharma Corp, the parent firm of Obetrol Pharmaceuticals, There was no FDA Orange Book rating, and IMHO, the effects were consistently stable for USA consumers.

Note: the products were always also available in 1/2 strength from the 20 mg tab in a 10 mg tab from 1965 until 1994, and, I have had a prescription for one of each formulations or a PCP's product sample dispensed to me. Quality Excellent, yet, no FDA Orange Book rating.

In the year 1993/1994 a agreement was reached, for Richwood Pharma Co Inc. of Florence, KY 41042 who bought out the rights to manufacture Obetrol, and in addition to that, to use the slick marketing name of "Adderall" for this instant release medication, originally in 10 mg and 20 mg, as the NDC # for the 20 mg was 58521-0033-01 for one bottle of 100 tabs, embossed side one "AD" and side two "2 scoreline 0" The color was still peach. The medication became a big commercial success, so much, that, by the year 1998, Brand Adderall I/R tabs, were expanded to four sizes, 5mg, 10mg, 20 mg and 30 mg. all in I/R formulations all, with the formulations of each total mg count split up in the so-called 4 mixed amphetamine salts, as previously described, since the mid 1970's by former, Rexar/Obetrol. Valley Stream NY 11581 "I have had numerous prescriptions for this product, and IMHO, the quality control was excellent"

During the year 2001, ShireUS bought out the rights from Richwood Pharma, Inc, and Shire Richwood Inc, Florence KY, and d/b/a Shire US Inc. of Florence KY expanded the production line now to instant release in 7 different sizes of tabs, I have the NDC numbers but to save a "wall of text" I will not print this now aging data, I have both from REDBOOK "Pharmacy's Fundamental Reference" 106th edition or the PDR 56th edition for the year 2002. The I/R sizes were 5 mg, 7.5 mg 10mg, 12.5mg, 15mg, 20mg, 30 mg. I have had prescriptions multiple times for this brand name, and IMHO the quality was excellent.

During the time frame, of, 2005/2006, a deal was worked out, for now, a generic, version, of, by now, a increasingly expensive brand "Adderall" to be offered by originally Barr Labs, Inc of Sellersville PA 18960, and the USA consumer was offered the choice of IMHO excellent quality, FDA Orange Book rating of AB, which is the no 2 ranking out of 17 Orange Book ratings, at 1/2 the Average Wholesale Price, of, still produced Brand Adderall, I/R, all in the seven (7) different pill sizes.

I have had numerous prescriptions for this "new generic" and as a brand hard core loyalist, I was skeptical at first, but, due to the cost savings, which was significant, yes, I did, take this generic, and, Barr Labs was very satisfactory!

#1 I never found any product shortages, from a pharmacy, in the SE USA, ever, from the late 1960's until, very late in the year 2011, as all of us on Adderall Brand or Generic, are all too familiar with. Yes, I did have a series of personal issues getting a co-operating USA MD to prescribe a C-II stimulant, from the 1960's until the mid 1990's but, that, is not the topic of this, target specific subject.

In December of 2008, Barr Labs,Inc and Duramed a division of Barr Labs Inc was bought out by Teva of Israel. I was again skeptical of this change, but, I had no problem with the quality control, of, the generic version of Instant Release generic Adderall, under the new owners, either NDC # 00555-0073-02, which came in a bottle of 100 count 20 mg of "amphetamine salt combination" or the 10 mg size tabs, the 20 mg were still pink, nor the 12.5 mg, pink round "embossed b 776 one side other side embossed "12 1/2", nor, the blue round "embossed b 972" for 10 mg of "amphetamine salts" as my prescription was written up by my MD as "mixed amphetamine salts" as I ask my MD by the year 2008 forward, my new insurance company would not pay for brand Adderall, only the generic version.

I still have some two bottles of stored product, NDC code 30555-072-02 for the ten mg blue Teva/Barr generic version of Adderall I/R, fill date Nov 03, 2013, and, one bottle of Teva/Barr generic Adderall I/R 12.5 mg a/k/a mixed amphetamine salts" color peach" round tabs, NDC code # 00555-0776-02, in a bottle from a 100 count "b 776" round oval tablets. dispensed date March 19, 2012.

I have one at least on one occasion during the Adderall shortage crisis of late 2011, thru most of the year 2012, get the brand, Adderall, made by Duramed, in the 10 mg size, during this era, embossed A D with a scoreline in between the A and the D and, IMHO, I saw no remarkable difference, only a increase in the price. (I compared it to my still stored, April 27, of year 2000, Richwood Adderall Instant Release blue "AD" no scoreline, and, opposite side, 10 with a scoreline in between, for back then brand only Adderall.

I agree with all of your posted frustrations. What I suggest, is only my way of coping with IMHO a tragic national problem of IMHO the USA news media, as one source of demonizing, the instant release versions of all C-II stimulants, especially the New York Times front page headlines during the year 2012, that was a very extensive article, IMHO, about the abuse of the stimulant Adderall, and the inference that the DX of ADHD or ADD inattentive type, and Narcolepsy, was being "allegedly" over prescribed to children, young adults, and all age adults!

There were other factors involved, which, I am aware of, but for the purpose of staying on topic, I will not digress about the DEA, and, FDA, nor of the extreme difference between regulated FDA bioequivalence, and the FDA non regulation of the bio-availability of a ethical pharmaceutical (how the body breaks down the substance after one swallows the tablet, capsule or prescribed pill).

1. I also gave up on calling around for info at any USA pharmacy for info about any C-II controlled substance, years ago. Many consumers find comfort in giving all of their business to only one pharmacy, and, a high number of us go to Mom and Pop's independent chain pharmacies, (I have historically done this most of my life). I found it has its advantages but, in more recent times, there is no cure all for, the vastly changing USA pharmaceutical manipulations that have continued to transpire in the past 7 to 8 years in a row.......in the here & now.

2. In my case my situation was much like your case, some difference, but what did I do? I sit down on my face to face visit with my USA Psychiatrist, of now 17 years in a row, during the year 2014, and I showed him my present insurance company formulary, (which in the year 2014 removed all versions of Adderall, brand, or generic, instant release or Adderall XR and/or any generic versions of Adderall in any form I/R or ER. My formulary showed Dextroamphetamine sulfate Instant Release, was acceptable, in the generic version only, but not the brand name of Dexedrine instant release nor of Dexedrine Spansules, (Which I took for about 15 years in a row, by Smith Kline French, later, Smith Kline Beecham, finally Glaxo Smith Kline, and the discontinued Orange Book A rated 5 mg SKF E-19 5 mg I/R pink/orange hearts, removed from USA shelves after a production run of 62 years (1937 to 2009). Spansules (1952 until 2010) and still available by Amedra Pharma for a extremely high price, a orphan drug, and, I have never seen one since December of 2010. AWP in Redbook was over US !,000.00 and, I do not have the budget to even dream of shopping for a pharmacy to special order a med that was in the year 2009 AWP of 15 mg of brand GSK Dexedrine Spansules of $330.82, and in 1995 was AWP of 15 mg for 50 SK Beecham Spansules for AWP of only $32.50 US, and, as recently as the year 2005, I paid cash in fist, from CVS pharmacy 60 X 15 mg Brand for only US $86.00!!! (The final step up for consistent performance for my DX) in recent years. 50 years ago would be considered a joke to many but I still remember those days, as, over 24 USA mfgs made a wide version of stimulants for mostly the diet pill craze days, and, I will stop my recall on my favorites now long gone (like Abbott Desbutal 15mg Gradumet SR methamphetamine with Pentobarbital 90 mg in a combined pill, discontinued by DEA rules July 1973!!!

In summary, my MD stated, I will write you a prescription for 60 tabs of 10 mg of generic dextroamphetamine sulfate, and, good luck to you in finding on your own, a good pharmacist, and a acceptable generic product, that is acceptable to you. Quote from my Psychiatrist, the DEA nor FDA does not care about the price nor the product quality or any shortages in fact they unofficially think it is funny. In the future only the very rich American can get quality scripts filled for often cash in fist, that is just the way it is" unquote.

I like many on this forum did my extensive research on the web, and with my lifetime experience, and, I found a pharmacy, to my surprise, a national chain, called Rite Aid, formerly a combination of former Eckerds Drugs and Peoples Drugs (the latter from the state of VA) who stocked 10 mg of the controversial pharmaceutical mfg Mallinckrodt, who, stock the generic dextroamphetamine,
that meets my insurance formulary requirements and is, basically somewhat satisfactory for me, as I cannot afford to pay, $500.00 US per month for my ADD meds, I pay a co-pay of only US$6.00 for sixty x 10 mg I/R tabs I also pay Blue Cross Blue Shield a hefty monthly sum for, PPO enhanced insurance.

BCBS has often a alleged different formulary for each state they do business with. And they recently can change the formulary at their own will any time during the year. Also beware of, overworked, underpaid, pharmacists who may ruin your day.... it is not like it used to be in most of the USA compared to the 1970's to the late 1990's!!! (having a good relationship with a pharmacist was
very necessary in the old days, still do-able, but, a extreme amount of patience, time and effort, and, tenacity is necessary for often, fresh out of college new generation pharmacists, who, due to their ego needs, seem to get pleasure in finding "drug seeking behavior types" I blame the USA government for a lot of this, and the PMP interstate computer interstate programs...and USA press, and the few rotten apples, drug addicts a small minority who ruin it for the majority!!!

My personal experience trying a multitude of what is left of the cannabalizing of the Adderall market was a horrible experience beginning early in the year 2013. Ranbaxy thank god is off the market, due to so many complaints and troubles with the FDA, I hated Ranbaxy generic Adderall, also Auro bindo once available generic "stimulants", and, especially, Mallinckrodt Adderall generic and of St Louis MO, and of Wilshire Pharma Adderall generic. (in any mg size I/R). I also had a very bad reaction in the year 2009/2010 from Core Adderall generic. I understand citation needed that Core has changed a lot for the better??

Core Pharma is affiliated now with Amedra, and new subcontractors to mfg their products, from a 3rd party. (citation needed) Core 2009/2010 may be different in year 2017, I do not have a clue.

I was sad to understand that HTF Teva Barr Generic Dextroamphetamine capsules 15 mg allegedly are now off the USA market, I used them from 2007 until 2011 and was very satisfied. I used Teva Barr Adderall from around 2006 (generic) until Feb of 2014 the Instant Release versions and was satisfied with the quality. It was a hassle to find this drug from 2012 forward, and, when I found it, I had to pay cash for US $180.00 on a one shot deal to special order one bottle of 100 tabs for the generic. I was quoted over $300.00 for cash out of pocket, by the year 2013, by Duramed, a division of Teva for brand name Adderall I/R for 90 tabs of ten mg Brand Adderall, as Teva eventually got the rights to mfg brand from slow selling Shire US. I was also disappointed in the Teva Barr version of 10 mg of the generic now discontinued Shire US and Richwood Brand Dextostat, in 10 mg versions from a Walgreen's pharmacy in the year 2014. Thus, good luck to you as the USA choices continue to decrease on formerly a very wide choice only 10 years ago for many stimulants, and, the future looks dim for any I/R instant release brand or generic for a reasonable price, the prices are often outrageous, even if you can find your favorite stimulant.

Finally my prior use of Sandoz products of generic Adderall was measurably successful, it was just too hard to find, back during the Adderall crisis shortage days of 2011 and 2012.

Thank you for your informative post! Approx 10 yrs ago I was prescribed adderall. Of course I had the genetic and it worked very well for me. I'm unsure the mfg, though. I eventually quit taking Add for personal reasons. Now I'm back in school so I went to Dr and he put me back on Add. I had it filled at Walgreens and the generic I recieved is horrible! After a couple of days of taking it I finally started looking up what it could be and lo and behold I see all these forums describing what I've been going through. My generic Add is mfg from Teva. It's NOTHING like the one I used to take yrs ago. Also, I was taking Add for 3+ yrs and never ran into a problem like this!

Do you have an opinion on what mfg has the best made generic Add that is similar to 10 yrs ago?

Serious question, are you being serious when you say there's no withdrawal from coming off Add? You can not be serious...

I don't experience much of the "come down" effects of Adderall at the end of the day, however the withdrawal is real after only a few weeks of 5 days a week use.

I've been having the same problem for about the last 3 or 4 months. I really feel that the corr and sandoz brands are the only ones that actually work for me.. They keep saying they both are on backorder... Also my dr. is in pa but my health insurance is Medicaid through nj, however nj pharmacies are not allowing me to fill a script from pa... Not even the same pharmacy that filled the same prescription from the same dr for over 10 years... It's very frustrating... We depend on these to keep us focused and they are making it so difficult... Good luck and and if you find any answers to your question that work, im very interested.

Reference to Post #566 to Kelli (Fri Jun 09 2017)

I was unaware that Mylan was manufacturing any form of Adderall products. If so, my experience, and with my many harm reduction forum members including some chemists, with GC/MS access, to analysis of contents of meds, is only this on Mylan products, in general, all of their benzodiazepines, are very weak mostly due to binders and fillers, and poor bioavailability, such as on USA C-IV Diazepam, and. USA C-IV Clonazepam tablets, (Benzo's). I have had both years ago, and was very disappointed, with Mylan, including alprazolam! If they have entered the market with a generic for Adderall, I am not surprised if you are disappointed, in the quality of the product!!! The next ADDA convention for the year 2017 is in Atlanta, GA, in November of 2017 not a cure all, but my past attendance has given me more data, from guest speakers of medical professionals, with up to date info on product, and, research studies of control groups of rates of effectiveness for those of us with ADD, ADHD, Narcolepsy, and with the more rare Treatment Resistant Depression.

ADDA has their own website, with more details, on the convention day of Thursday November 09, 2017, the 21st year of ADDA conventions, now combined with CHADD convention in the same time frame!!! Atlanta Hilton, 255 Courtland St NE
Atlanta, GA 30303 Registration 2nd floor for a Convention date of Nov 9 thru Nov 12, 2017, Pre-registration, is strongly advised, as, in the past years, I have found a sold out hotel, when it was in Washington DC, some years ago. IMHO just a idea, not a cure all, for many of us, it is more for, up to date, research on studies of results for ADD ADHD patients. Many of their programs are sold on the internet for web seminars, which I have never personally used, so I am not necessarily endorsing, this as a "must attend event" just throwing out some ideas, in this transition time, of so very much conflict in the real world of supply and demand for a quality ADD / ADHD Narcolepsy ethical pharmaceutical!!!

My Psychiatrist, "extensive knowledge with patients", on Stimulants and Pain meds told me, 4 years ago, face to face, he predicted the USA government had a unofficial agenda to put all of the fast acting, (Immediate release stimulants) placed
out of business, with various methods of manipulations. Now from 2013 until now 2017, I see how the dwindling supply of quality Adderall I/R, and of dwindling supply of quality dextroamphetamine, instant release has decreased compared to only ten years ago when I/R stimulants were in great supply in reasonable prices, and good quality! The price increases quite radical on some products, and, the withdrawal of other manufacturers, has been very discouraging for me. "Including some Extended Release products, especially, dextroamphetamine pure, in 15 mg ER"!!!

The price rip offs and quality control is very sad indeed with the poor bioavailability on many I/R adderall generics, especially ! Beware of Wilshire generics of Atlanta, GA, and, so glad Ranbaxy is long out of the picture, a horrible pharma firm in anything they manufacture !! Barr division of Teva, and, Core pharma, has been a roller coaster ride the past 5 years, it appears the generic versions of I/R adderall for both, "citation needed" may soon be off the market, as the choices are becoming fewer and fewer of once a extremely once very effective Adderall from the mid decade of the 1990's until around the crisis of late 2011, and 2012 of the product shortages, and now the, elimination and substitution of poor choices of newer
generic firms, that, I have personally given up on any Adderall, just my 2 cents worth. I used to hoard my Adderall for the unexpected, am down to my last few bottles of Adderall, stored, from back in 2012, 2013, 2014!!!

There are two newer generic manufacturers out there, I have no experience with, for either Adderall Instant Release and/or Dextroamphetamine instant release.

I am not sure of the current status of Roxanne or Ivax....all I know is I have never heard of one consumer happy with Auro Bindo pharm products!!! Once out of Dayton New Jersey, or of the former Ranbaxy Adderall generic products, USA headquarters, Princeton NJ, world hdqtrs in INDIA.

these are just my 2 cents worth of opinions, as, I understand, many people with ADD / ADHD Narcolepsy or Refractory Depression and co-morbid DX's may have a different opinion, as mine is "only one opinion" of many, just again my 2 cents
worth of taking stimulants on and off since 1969!

He predicted the USA government had an unofficial agenda to put all of the fast-acting (Immediate release stimulants) placed

I wonder if that has anything to do with the fact that it is highly abused by students (who don't have ADD/ADHD etc) in high school and college to gain an edge.

Re: Marcia (# 559) Expand Referenced Message

Yes it is frustrating....as it is human nature for one to "compare" the ease of obtaining stimulants, for bona fide ADD ADHD and Narcolepsy, from 1994 until 2009. A very strong 15 years in a row!!!

I am a different breed of cat, as, I was a teenager when the 1960's expired, & the 1970's ushered in. "The quality of meds, then, IMHO, will never be surpassed". It began changing very fast, as historians know, very fast, between 1972 to about 1974. For the most part it was over by the year 1976, until damn near 20 more years, with the, new research, and my 1st ADDA conference in
Washington DC and my new Psychiatrist, perception, of prescribing stimulants to adults, with focusing problems.

The problems for a combination of two or three separate factors affecting the USA market...

1. Long running traditional stimulants, brand name were sold, by GlaxoSmithKline during 2009 and 2010, all over the entire globe. Dexedrine and Dexedrine Spansules "were not the most popular med" in numbers of prescriptions filled but the quality was there, When, GSK, formerly GSB, formerly SKF, sold out the patent, GREED set in by the new "Marketing" patent holders, who, like GSK, and some of the industry, seek out a subcontractor, to actually mfg their patent name.

2. Adderall was an extremely successful med, as already explained in my earlier posts, with a very long historical past, (already explained in my earlier posts).

3. The 2nd problem to the withdrawal for all practical purposes of brand Orange Book rated rare no 1 Grade A Dexedrine, as the list price rose to ungodly prices, and, naturally very few USA pharmacies, bothered to stock the drug, if indeed it was even manufactured.

4. The 3rd problem is the gradual computer-assisted far-reaching state by state PMP for Pharmaceutical Monitoring Programs, each state of each of the 50 states, with their set of rules, but one rule was the C-II's were in general, especially on (now) most state PMP's, accessible by any Pharmacy "chain" or "independent" pharmacy, with a link, or legislation, now in 49 of the 50 USA states. Many state's also exchange C-III and C-IV RX use-age for each patient. Example my state in SE USA and my neighbor state monitor very fast, every RX from a C-II, C-III, C-IV, "in the very same week if not the very same day" of every prescription filled, legally by the patient, since the year 2007, now, ten years ago. What does this mean? Many things I formerly could do in from 1969 until 2006, I can no longer do. I will not comment in public, of, the great flexibility once offered to me.

5. The training of pharmacy tech's (in my state they begin licensing over ten yrs ago), in the 1990's and before the Pharmacy assistants in my state were not licensed. I have inside information from very close people, who worked for pharmacists, and, I have had, pharmacists friends in the business all the way back to the early 1970's who were in pharmacy school who later became pharmacists, or who had a Father who owned an independent pharmacy in the USA.

The "drug seeking behavior" has gotten out of hand, I see both sides of it. I was once very young, and, yes I took stimulants for stressful examinations, way back in the early to mid 1970's. But, by the era, of 2002 to 2012, the "Adderall" top selling brand and later generic name, replaced, the former top selling Methylphenidate generic, or, slower selling Ritalin brand.

Fortunately for us with bona fide ADD ADHD Narcolepsy and those of us who have exhausted our efforts for Depression with the A to Z of anti-depressants, both SSRI's and SNRI's and years and years of individual therapy and Cognitive Behavioral private group therapy also have a trusting usually USA Psychiatrist, "who may" titrate in some modest doses of the C-II class stimulants for relief for the patient to have a "quality of life".

The UNFORTUNATE issue is a minority, perhaps a strong minority of a clearly abusable drug, to those without ADD or ADHD or Narcolepsy, or the conditions described above, did abuse the drug across the USA usually on college campuses, 50%, the rest were run of the mill just recreational drug abusers, that will always be around. This alerted all kind of government agencies, and, data collection folks, to DAWN hospital admissions in ER for those drug abusers, and, with the news media I have already cited, who has an agenda no 1 to sell newspapers, and, the New York Times in early January of 2012 had huge headlines of the Adderall crisis, and describing it as the "drug of choice" as if comparing it to 1970's Quaaludes, or mid 1980's crack form of nose powder. This was bad news for those of us who never abused our meds for our bona fide needs.

6. Yes the explosion of sales of Adderall, I/R, and of Adderall now in "XR" and especially the very competitive "Adderall generic competition" came under intense examination, and the always in place, drug quotas, were heavily enforced by the DEA and FDA and, there was a crisis in late 2011 thru most of the year of 2012, which, did get resolved certainly by 2013.

7. The 4th component, IMHO (just one opinion, please I am not a national spokesperson), but, only a standard run of the mill user of C-II stimulants now for 23 years in a row "not interrupted". This #4 problem, there is a lot of pressure from the top down, from the DEA to FDA, to the eager beaver new age college pharmacists, who have big ego's, plus, also have a fear of losing their job, and paying perhaps a very large school loan for their education, and, this has caused, a transformation, with the information age, with the entire market, once one first gets a C-II prescription from one's medical provider.

There is a world of difference in the FDA bioequivalence and the FDA non regulated bio-availability of the generic products, in the USA market.

The truth is.....there is the possibility that Adderall, had acquired a negative reputation, from the few rotten apples in the barrel now, the DEA, and the FDA, have meddled into this thing in the past especially 6 to 7 years, plus, the $64,000.00 question is the quality of generic adderall has been going down the tubes!!!

In addition to this Big Time $$ by lobbyist of the pharmaceutical association are pushing for the sale and acceptance, of their profitable investment in the "new age" branded products such as Vyanase, sp? and, Focalin, and even still, Concerta. (Many of us who are accustomed to stimulants that already worked very well 1960's to around 2009, are very concerned as our former choices have been tampered with by a combination of factors I have tried to explain)!

8. There have been more "merger madness" all over the modern industrialized world, especially inside the USA even with, generic, companies, like the world has never seen in the past 10 years. and it continues to this very day.

9. One statement I made I stand by, the long debatable generic and brand firm Mallinckrodt, of St Louis MO, yes, IMHO the last Generic Adderall I had from them was very disappointing, like most generic adderall's I have had since the era 2013 to 2015. However, the pure form of generic form of long deleted Richwood, Shire US DextroStat, as, "Dextroamphetamine Sulfate" is the only acceptable, generic med, that is acceptable to me, I would give it a Grade B. as acceptable but not a Grade A, and all of the other C-II's I have had most were either, again pure Dextroamphetamine, by Teva, division of Barr Labs, was, not acceptable to me around the Spring of 2015. Original DextoStat was a super fine product (brand name now long gone), just like Biphetamine 20 mg, and Desoxyn Gradumet SR, and Desbutal SR, the latter two by Abbott Labs, long gone by Abbott, both in two phases 1973 and 1999, with only Ovation Pharma making methamphetamine, in 5 mg tabs, the last I heard, a very HTF drug or difficult med for even a USA Psychiatrist, to prescribe, due to the stigma, and due to the possibility of very, very expensive malpractice insurance!

Every version of Adderall Instant Release in generic form was unacceptable to me except, the 10 mg Teva Barr HTF very expensive, Adderall, generic or brand in the Spring of 2014. I gave up due to its daunting challenge to locate, and my insurance company dropped all versions of Adderall, as did at least 3 other very big USA insurance companies.

I now read reports of even Barr Labs which is totally controlled by controversial Teva of israel with plants all over the world, and Teva products I have taken from the Netherlands, to the USA, and Mylan generic products, of lets say "controlled substances" by the World Health Organization, and I was always disappointed for USA and non USA products by TEVA, RANBAXY and MYLAN, for sure, as well as Atlanta Ga based Wilshire who make generic Adderall, and even brand with a non Adderall name, (I have not tried).

I have never read of one individual who has been happy with the use of either USA Wilshire or USA Aurobindo products of C-II stimulants ever! I am getting reports of scattered by consistent info that Barr Labs of Teva Adderall has been either HTF or the quality has allegedly done down hill radically. (citation needed) sorry.
